Bills Defense - average after all the changes (corrected)

I'm done with you. You're either a troll or a moron. Either way you're not worth anybody's time. -

So because it works (kinda, but not really, actually, if you actually cared to watch Minnesota's last two games or Denver's loss against SD) for two teams, it should work for ours? This is such a juvenile argument, it's insane. To your second sentence: nobody is saying that. In fact, I quite clearly stated the opposite. -

To be clear, this applies to Bills v Miami exclusively, as it pertains to 2016. In that game, the Bills ran 25 plays over seven consecutive drives spanning the halves. Doesn't matter, wins or losses, neither Denver nor Minnesota has a had a run even remotely that bad this year, which is immaterial anyways considering: We're not talking about the Bills D relative to other defenses, we're talking about them relative to the games we win and lose Football is not played in a vacuum, so just comparing outcomes to other teams doesn't consider opponent, injuries, field conditions, the list is virtually endless But to just digress for a second. Denver did actually have a run as bad as what the Bills put together in Miami. And it came in their loss this week to San Diego. So. You know. Plenty of people do. In, fact, most do. You just happened to have enlisted with the same three muskateers that have been resisting this truth for the last year. -

Their inability to understand is willful. I'm giving up. -

You are fundamentally wrong and I'm done trying to convince you of that. -

The defense was bad against NYJ and NE. Yes. Complementary football is not my dumb theory. It's a basic concept that Rex haters choose to ignore. Who are you talking about? And who is arguing that our D is better than theirs? Your assertions here follow no logic. -

The Bills have been bottom 3-5 in three and out pct since last year. They are particularly bad at it. They put lopsided pressure on the D. There really isn't any comparable team. This is false. And it's the equivalent of saying TT sucks because his stats don't look like Brady's. -
Why is ALynn getting a pass for Cheats gameplan?

If we get down 4 points or more at any point in the game, our chances are precisely 9.1%, if Tyrod is the QB (given his record to date). -

They got it to 7-3. Then we went three and out. Then they got it to 14-3. Then we went three and out. Game plan: window--with 14:50 to go in the second quarter. -

Let's back WAY up. My point: our defense struggles when our offense can't sustain drives. Your point: the two best defenses in the league are successful when their offense is not. Was your point intended to refute mine? Because practically, it does not. And logically, it does not follow. Would you care to refute the notion that the Buffalo defense struggles when the offense strings together three and outs? Yes/No -

Their defenses are better than ours? Who was arguing otherwise? But anyways: Time per drive: Minnesota: 10th Buffalo: 23rd Denver: 27th Drives per game: Denver 6 Minnesota 19 Buffalo 27 Plays per game: Denver: 18th Minnesota 20th Buffalo 30th Plays per drive: Minnesota: 14th Buffalo 22 Denver: 30th To say these teams are worse than us at sustaining drives would be objectively wrong. -

There are two: Denver and Minnesota. Both have struggled when their respective offenses have. Three and outs have killed this team over the last 24 games. Anyone who can see past their prejudice for Rex Ryan understands this. -

Was the expectation that we'd outscore Brady and the Pats* by 21 points in the second half by sticking with the run while Shady was injured? -

Drives 1-6 (not counting garbage before half): 6 points on 129 yards. Drives 7-11: 22 points on 268 yards. The defense went from perfectly fine and stout to a sieve. What changed? What was happening on the other side of the ball during this sudden deluge? Answer: 3 punts in 13 plays. How can you look at 6 points and 129 yards through 2.5 quarters and say with a straight face "the defense sucked all day?" -

Coloration is mine, chart is Pro Football Reference's. And yes, on an 80 degree day in Miami, the opening drive that lasted a whopping 3:06 was the most the offense would muster. But, not, that cluster of four long drives in the second half by Miami had nothing to do with the supremely unproductive streak that was happening on the other side of the ball. Fans who can only digest one concept at a time will confuse this as denial that: Jay Ajayayayay was great Our defense struggles In fact, both are true. In fact, both were exasperated to the extent of a loss because the offense left virtually no time between their repeated pairings. -
Bills lead NFL in sacks halfway through season
The Big Cat replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I realize that. It was THE sticking point for the Rex Sux crowd all offseason. Also, the defense was doing a fine job of keeping Miami out of the endzone until two thirds of the way through the third quarter. Why? Because the offense couldn't sustain ****. Then the wheels fell off. The Miami game and the Patriots* game, from a D perspective, couldn't be less analogous. -

Still don't understand how 6 points through 2.5 quarters suddenly turned into 22 points in 1.5 quarters, huh? Gee...what might have happened? Five punts in 22 plays from the offense, may be? -

I thought Rex was a buffoon for touting yards allowed as a key metric for defense rankings. Huh. I guess something changed. -

Where are all the Rex haters that pointed to this stat as THE primary indication that he ruined the defense in 2015? Seriously. I'd like to know what tune they're humming now. -
I mean...he's not even involved in the play. No. 16 is Cassel...

This crusade is remarkable.

So...11th...with nearly 10 times as much as the worst. Why were we included, again?
