  1. I have yet to read a single post that doesn't acknowledge Fitz's shortcomings. You're creating a boogie man to argue with!
  2. WHO'S INSISTING THIS!?
  3. Actually, I don't know that. Fitz throws 2 brilliant passes for every 3 blunders. His game is not an ongoing abortion, and having been a fan of a team that has since cycled through the likes of Losman and Edwards, you should know this. Meanwhile, we've devoted about as many resources to a QB solution as a team can without using a draft pick (save for Levi Brown). Instead, we've made improvements in just about every other aspect of the game and ARE CURRENTLY TIED FOR FIRST IN THE DIVISION. As I've said before, many times now, I fully expect them to draft AT LEAST one quarterback next year. For the time being, he's all we've got, and I don't begrudge the FO for appeasing the hind-sighted demands of a fanbase that blames a quarterback for surrendering100 points in two games.
  4. Fitz's struggles have nothing to do with whether or not someone on our roster is better. Why not have a look? BECAUSE WE'RE TIED FOR FIRST IN OUR DIVISION--Why is this so hard? And now it's Fitz's fault we've given up 100 points in two games? I'm not saying he's had a great season...but COME ON. Also: quarterbacks aren't pitchers. It's quite rare for a QB to get subbed out mid-game. You do realize this, yes? Do you watch other teams play? Because I can say with confidence, that Fitz is not the worst quarterback in the league. He's not even in the bottom 5.
  5. Right now Tashard Choice has more rushing yards than Freddie. Just sayin'
  6. Well, they've spent resources drafting on defense. You only get so many picks, and thus far they've fared pretty well. So, as far as FA QB's, turns out perennial winners are not in ready supply. I'm confident we'll draft a QB this year--may be two. Wouldn't mind if they made a play for Cousins, either. Just did a quick lap around a draft site and took note of this kid from Arkansas--who two mocks already have us taking with the 14-15 ish pick. THOUGHTS?

  8. I am not in any way, shape or form suggesting that Fitz's quarterback play has been adequate. So you can throw numbers at me, and you can point to his lousy performances, all you want--I get it. The point a lot of folks are missing is that HE'S THE BEST WE GOT. And you have NO EVIDENCE--REPEAT: NO EVIDENCE--that suggests otherwise. Do you really think the FO brought in TJ to sit behind Thigpen? Yes, the same FO that has been heralded for months for being pragmatic and for never being satisfied with the status quo--they're willing to trade...TRADE:AS IN GIVE UP RESOURCES...for a guy they never had any intention of granting an opportunity to compete? How is it that everyone here loves Doug Waley for his ability to scout current professionals, they love that we plucked two of our starting OLineman from other team's scrap heaps, yet they're convinced that a quarterback solution exists and we're not doing what's feasible to bring him to town...?? Did we all suddenly forget about Vince Young? Do you think he was brought in to sell jerseys? !@#$ NO. He was brought in to find a better solution at QB. This FO has now brought in three...THREE!!!...veteran, former starting QB's to compete for the job, and guess what NONE OF THEM ARE AS GOOD AS FITZ. How do I know? Let me repeat for those so woefully willing to ignore this point: This is an organization that had no qualms of moving on Edwards, Lynch, Evans, Poz, Whitner, Moorman, Schobel. Look at those names--that was the heart of our squad from 2007-2009 (for better or worse). Yet the Nix/Gailey administration new enough to cut their losses and move on. Please tell me why Fitz would be different. It's really not that difficult to figure out: THEY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE GUYS BEHIND HIM. I know everyone here does--everyone who has never attended a practice/walkthrough/film session at OBD IN THEIR ENTIRE LIFE. Like it or not, fellas, but we're in FIRST PLACE IN OUR DIVISION. Now's not the time to be chucking "solutions" at the wall, trying to get one to stick. Also, for those who think it's a money issue...No, it's not. You're conjuring wild speculation to help make your point. Fitz is the starter, and he's the best quarterback in Buffalo right now. The FO has made numerous efforts to improve the situation, and none of them--to date--have proven successful. If Buddy Nix could magically cough up a quarterback HE WOULD! But he can't, so Fitz is our starter, and he's the best out there right now. DEAL WITH IT.
  9. So, if I'm reading correctly, if he were to land in Buffalo, it would be our loss because of Fitz. At least you guys do a good job of seeting yourselves up for moments of self-congratulations...
  10. And I'm saying you're foolish to think it's that cut and dry. Fitz hasn't cost us any games this year, period. So if we win with him "looking like garbage," he WON'T be benched.
  11. I didn't count Seattle as a win. To get to 7-9 we'd have to lose six of the following games (bolded for plausibility): TEN HOU NE MIA IND JAX STL SEA MIA NYJ So, by my count, 7 of our last 10 games are quite winnable (and yes, I'm counting the Jets). That would put us at 10-6. I don't believe (as things stand today injury-wise) we forfeit an additional three.
  12. TEN, HOU, NE, NYJ, MIA, MIA, JAX, IND, SEA, STL...The way I see it, to get to six losses from that bunch, we'd have to drop the second game against NYJ and get swept by Miami. No way we finish worse than 8-8.
  13. It's not. Which is why I do my best to derail THAT carousel too.
  14. Would have stopped by a little more frequently myself, but I just got back from ye olde honeymoon! Oh yeah, they're really cool to look at, and the make really neat loud noises at air shows...but otherwise, are we really getting an ROI on those bad boys?
  15. So the fact that the stay-the-course bull **** has us tied for first in the division after six games means...nothing...to you? Riddle me this, did we win last Sunday...on the road...against a 4-1 team...with a very good defense...? Why impose some ridiculous punitive measures that--quite literally--no team in the history of sports has every enforced? Seriously, do you understand confidence? Have you played sports before?
  16. And the best part about coming is going: whenever I drop by NOTHING has changed and I know exactly where to flick the nerve...every time. I mean, this must get old for you guys, right? Without the likes of me, it must be like conversing in a hall of mirrors.
  17. Ha, figured that would get everyone going a little bit. But, at least we can all agree that the F-22 Raptor is an equally colossal waste of money.
  18. Interesting. I read a few weeks ago that all polls are politically slanted, bias and completely inaccurate. And yet here we are.
  19. Holy **** balls. We invested $250 million in a company hoping to build a more environmentally friendly product that reduces our dependency on foreign oil and puts people to work while kick-starting up and coming technologies? $250...MILLION!? Christ, we could have had almost two F-22 Raptors for that price!!
  20. What frustrates me most about the WTF are still playing Fitz for crowd is that Gailey/Nix have shown absolutely no hesitation in parting ways with other players that weren't working out (Edwards, Lynch, Moorman, Poz, Whitner). Why would Fitz all of a sudden be different? Easy, because they have no confidence, whatsoever, in the guys backing him up. That leads me to believe that they will be targeting AT LEAST one other guy to come in and compete for the job next year. And I say that because I trust Gailey/Nix know that Fitz isn't working out the way he should...
  21. To go to 3-6, we have to lose, at home, to the worst defense in the league after we had a decent road trip against one of the league's tougher defenses. So if you're setting up scenarios to make your point, how bout coming back down to earth a bit? If my best friend murders my wife, I'll have to call the cops...but I'm not sitting next to the phone, with the CPD on speed dial...ya dig?
  22. Look man, I get what you're saying, but it's just a bunch of hind-sighted bull ****. Anyone with the capacity to speak can criticize what should have happened, in all facets of life. MY QUESTION TO YOU IS: WHAT DO WE DO NOW?
  23. Totally agree. What has Mario done for us? Imagine what Skelton could do for us.
  24. I TOTALLY AGREE. But it's not next year right now...
