  1. That may be so. But considering the team's achilles heel is the offense's inability sustain drives, you'll have to excuse my lack of enthusiasm for that particular trait.
  2. There has been ongoing and preposterous outrage that no defense has performed to the level of the cake-scheduled, injury free 2014 defense. I certainly don't refute Schwartz's abilities as DC. But I've begun questioning the sanity in holding 2014 as the standard when in the year prior and two years since a similar core of players haven't been as dominant. Part of that is Schwartz and his scheme. A bigger piece--IMO has been injuries, specifically lack thereof in 2014. That was the anomaly.
  3. TBD's no. 1 2014 truther, ladies and gentlemen.
  4. Not so much of an argument as a general theme: that the growing myth of 2014 is just that.
  5. I thought he had those problems because of the Bills coaches, though...? Huh. Weird. So you're telling me it's the player's responsibility to make plays, that the more talented ones tend to more frequently. Huh.
  6. McCoy and Sammy were both out. The offense was futile. I'm not convinced TT should stay, I'm also not convinced he should go. I think it's a supremely tricky situation the Bills are in. But I will say this: his selling point right now seems to be pretty singular--he doesn't throw picks. Okay. You know who else wouldn't throw picks? Me. Put me in pads and watch me not doing something for 4Q.
  7. I see what's on paper, and it gives me hope. I also see backward to a decade of prime time debacles (that weren't in the most hostile stadium in the NFL) and those hopes are crushed.
  8. There is nothing I want more than for you to rub this in my face. Seriously.
  9. I live four blocks from Wrigley. Yeah.
  10. Wilson is due for his 'comeback' game. I'm envisioning 2.5 hours worth of slow mo sideline shots of his $100M smile. "Looks like the knee is healthy now." "Doesn't seem like that knee is giving him issue now." "He was struggling with the knee for the past month. Well, not anymore." Meanwhile: "And Tyrod Taylor continues his struggles." "The Bills offense just can't get anything going." "This Seahawks defense is all over the field, they're not giving an inch." I'm just going to let it wash over me. Eyes on the bye.
  11. Safe bet. Really, really safe bet.
  12. Denver's defense: not impacted by three and outs, whatsoever.
  13. And what's crazy is that the inverse is also true. See: Romo and the two guys on our roster now. To a lesser extent Dalton. It's such a weird, elusive thing. But make no mistake, it's real.
  14. What I find most perplexing and concerning about takes like these is the followup outrage when our GM doesn't fulfill the fantasy. It's enough to make your question your own sanity.
  15. I think accuracy can be learned. Especially when your job now is to learn it. He's not having to game plan, he's learning to be a QB. Again, I'm not suggesting it will happen. I'm leaving open the possibility that if he's left to develop over two years, there could be something there.
  16. Because while his college tape might show flaws in his mechanics, the rest of it is a sizzle reel of him making mince meat out of the best programs in the highest profile contests imaginable. And while he might lack in some skills, others--size, speed, athleticism, arm strength--are as good or better than virtually every other NFL QB. I'm not saying he's without flaw, but you can't just gloss over the part where he has also elite level skills that don't come around too often.
  17. Do bold and italic mean something different wherever or whenever you exist?
  18. Are you being severely sarcastic? Or do we live in separate dimensions?
  19. i think that what you're saying holds true...when they're put on a roster track, and not a development one. he's clearly not on a roster track right now. and my optimism for him depends on: Him staying on the developmental track That track being a success i think that developmental guys like him a very very very rare. a guy with his physical tools and his bizarre penchant for winning MAJOR college football games against MAJOR opponents but still being "raw and unprepared." so there's not a whole to compare him to.
  20. Well we know that in 6 out of 8 games this year they have been. You're just too stubborn to recognize that.
  21. can we not turn this into a TT argument though? I really don't want to waste everyone's time with JFH trying to convince people that losing 11 out of 12 games when we got down by 4 or more at any point in the contest is "just what this team needs."
  22. if our defense is as good as it should be, then we don't need a qb to squat on the ball and we don't need an elaborate run scheme to combat 9 in the box. a gunslinger who can string together points would be better for our defense they could just key off on QB's. that's not the way rex wants to play though. i understand that. but a qb who will force opposing teams to cover every inch of the field (with the weapons we have) has the potential to light up the score board, thus letting the dogs loose on d. what i'm describing is the opposite of tt. it's also the opposite of most qb's in the league and the opposite of what we have on our roster now (7 guague not withstanding)
