Hahaha, yes, it's a much more entertaining scenario when you imagine the picture as an Olin Mills portrait.

Nothing else to talk about, so I thought I'd share an anecdote: I was an unabashed Dick Jauron supporter, right up until the last three or four days of his tenure. Just got out of my coworkers office who has, and has always had a picture of Dicky J on her desk--I just never noticed it before. During Jauron's time with the Bears, she worked as a reporter for the local CBS affiliate. Once the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs in his second season, he invited members of the local media--producers, cameramen, everyone--to his place for dinner. Shocked, the media went along with it, and--per what EVERYONE has EVER said about the man--it was a delightful evening in Jauron's pleasant, always respectable company. They left thinking "well, THAT will never happen again." Until the following year, when it did. There are men, and there are football coaches. Yes, I suppose for the sake of our collective heart-health, it'd be nice to have a calculating, reptilian savant like Bellicheat leading our men, but there are far worse things in the world than being associated with a man like Jauron. Again, off topic, just felt like sharing since it came up just now at work. GO BILLS!

Okay, I've not officially come full-circle on Lena Dunham. Before I started watching GIRLS I had unsubstantiated disdain for her and her work. Then I started watching and that disdain evolved into fascination. From there, bewilderment. Then, after last night's horrific season finale, I'm back to where I started: visceral disdain. As the marked-up poster reads: born on third, thinks she hit a triple--well, that's not fair. I don't know how talented she thinks she is, but the rest of the world has crowned her the millennial Hemmingway, and that's where I draw the line. At best, she gets the "voice" nod as a default, only because nobody else her age was born to a NYC-based artist and can also write interesting, though vacant shock scenarios. I don't care if GIRLS stays on air for another seven seasons, I'll never watch another episode, and anyone who tries to sell this tripe as "good" has no idea what he (though more likely she) is talking about.

To do that I'd have to use ESPN's metric...

It took a couple ticks the first time, but it soon becomes obvious!

Hardly anybody cared when we cut Jones. Just about everybody grabbed their pitchforks and torches when we cut Nelson. Look who's on a roster first. Look who's on the roster of a top-3 NFL team. Hopefully this puts the Nelson argument to rest.

I just had a scary thought--evidently this thread has become paranoia's sanctuary: May be Ralphy had some sellers remorse. May be the engine started pumping but Ralphy panicked not being behind the wheel. May be the 'plan' has stalled because Ralphy got fussy, put his fingers in the pan, and now we're right back to where we were Dec. 31.
