  1. Don't let the point of this get the better of you. Also, it's not about what Marrone and co. are saying, it's about what the players are saying--that things are different, and in ways that would suggest the previous regime was a real stinko. Nobody hear is cheerleading the cheerleading, so coming in here to climb Mt. Pious and snipe that non-existent point serves no purpose.
  2. So much funnier than his brothers Marlon and Daymon.
  3. And as has been said here a gagillion times since the Week 1 NYJ Debacle: Wanny's defense was an absolute joke. Listen to what the players are saying now, and try and extrapolate how they felt about their station during the season last year.
  4. Assuming Buffalo doesn't cut him.
  5. Since when did Kyle Williams have a ****ty year last year?
  6. Any of the following: Dick Bass (HB/FB) Dick Capp (TE/LB) Dick Crayne (FB) Dick Dolly (E?) Dick Falcon (G) Dick Felt (DB) Dick Flowers (QB) Dick Folk (FB) Dick Fugler (T/DT) Dick Handley (C/LB) Dick Hall (T) Dick Hart (G)
  7. Mario is good enough and versatile enough that he will be just fine this year. I have full faith that Pettine will make him sing. You're right, Mario was signed PARTLY to add a marketing boost. But you're wrong to suggest he "does not really move the team forward."
  8. Who chaps your ass? The policy? Or the FO?
  9. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah...he's not that good. See: Stroud, Marcus.
  10. This thread is about sending messages early and often...
  11. My sarcastameter is going ape ****. Is it time to change its batteries? Or does she continue to serve me well?
  12. Sorry, just found this, looking for an opportunity to use it:
  13. No problemo, homey. I think it's safe to say, for one reason or another, we're all excited for opening day, GO BILLS!
  14. Well, yeah. All of this goes without saying--and I tried to pre-empt this so-called "realism" in the OP, knowing full well there would be a party pooper or two. None of us knows anything. All we have his hunches. May be North Korea WILL nuke the U.S. and the entire 2013 season will be cancelled, who knows!? I freely admitted to having fallen victim to this behavior pattern in the OP, it didn't need called-out.
  15. Right, the most successful team of the past 13 years (New England*) has definitely shown this to be true. No other team has managed to find more talent, then ship that talent to locations where they do as well or better.
  16. This guy needs a coat he's sooooooo cooooooool.
  17. Look, the whole point of this was to suggest that attitude can be everything. And without sounding like an unmitigated blowhard, I have it on good authority, straight from a player's perspective that last year's coaches had the team's collective confidence (in the systems, in themselves, in the team) in the collective dumpster. Marrone said last week that he sees no point in keeping a guy on the roster that won't help the team win. This plays right into the Steelers' "next man up" philosophy and is completely counter to all the claims we'd hear from Gailey about a player "not being quite ready yet." When you play for Marrone, you're expected to be ready, you want to be ready.
  18. Absolutely I do. As dubs rightly noted above, Wanny's defense was beyond horrible last year. It was appalling, historically bad, out dated, ineffective, laughable, AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. It was BRUTAL. And despite that, even with Fitzwinger out there, and with the NFL's most electric player underused, we still finished two games below .500. You're suggesting that the organization, top to bottom, coaches to talent is/was inept, and there's more than sufficient evidence to suggest that's not the case. Coaching made a huge difference in wins/losses last year, and that will show this year. We're talking about the NFL, where talent from player to player, team to team simply doesn't vary that far, it really doesn't. It's a bell-curve, with several outstanding players and a couple of guys who were lucky to be born into a 6'7" 350 frame, but will themselves out of the league in less than 20 months, but everyone else is somewhere in between. Coaching can/will make all the difference.
  19. Are you being ironical? Do you ever grow tired of putting a negative spin on everything? Who do you suppose is the early favorite? Dareus? Mario? Stevie??
