Falcons trying to trade up in the NFL draft

That wouldn't even come close to covering it, if I'm reading this chart correctly: http://walterfootball.com/draftchart.php -
Falcons trying to trade up in the NFL draft
The Big Cat replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they want to give up their 2nd, 3rd and 4th this year and may be their 2nd next year, this would be worth pursuing. -
Steve Johnson's interesting tweet.

I don't think anyone with a respirating cell floating in their brains thinks !@#$ing Seth MacFarlane instigated the attack. That said: Seth MacFarlane can't run routes or catch a football like Stevie can, so he doesn't belong in any football conversations comparing him to Stevie Johnson. Likewise, Stevie Johnson cannot write jokes, animate, compose, sing and do voice talent like Seth McFarlane can, so if it's a conversation about comedy and/or entertainment not pertaining to sports (and I suppose rapping too ), Stevie Johnson does not have a place on Seth MacFarlane's plain, either. -
Well, talent v coaching = chicken v egg, so between you and me, it's just a difference of opinion. I happen to believe that the league-wide, team-to-team talent level is a bell curve. And that no team has an abundance of elite talent, just like no team has an abundance of ****ty talent. Having said that, I also believe that the talent-level on our team IS higher than it was under Jauron when when had DiGorgio starting at MLB, Anthony Thomas as our second running back, Robert mother !@#$ing Royal as our best tight end, and defensive/offensive lines that were just plain terrible. We have gotten significantly better in the trenches under Nix.

Does everyone trust the coaches and scouts to make the right decision after they've met with, interviewed, worked out and evaluated all the quarterbacks they're interested in? I do.

Checking in here as definitely amplified my investment in this situation. I stopped following the coverage last evening. I've just been popping by OTW to see what latest has been. I read Joe-the-6's post and took my cues accordingly.

Seriously, I don't know what the situation is in Boston, but with the THOUSANDS of cameras perched on EVERY significant corner here in Chicago, there'd be leads aplenty by now.

It's pretty !@#$ing safe assumption!!

Oklahoma City, Columbine, 9/11, Aurora, Sandy Hook: these are all just one psyche-cage-rattling event after another. And while yesterday's events are, indeed, terrifying, does anyone else think that the potential for mass-slaughter has informed the response more so than the event itself? One life, zero lives, two lives or a thousand, it's all tragic. But I get the impression that how this event was showcased on an international stage has more to do with the "response" (I'm talking about media coverage, "news" and social alike) then the otherwise (and it's a true sign of the universe's shittiness that I'd even say this) the less-than "mass" tragedy of two lost lives. Everyone was watching. Imagine how bad it could have been. More two than people get shot, maimed, tortured, stabbed and raped every day, yet "hearts and prayers" galore for yesterday. Trying to make sense of it. Having a hard time with it...

A special teams scrub on the best team in the country (Alabama) turn special teams scrub on the best team in the world (Baltimore).** Sounds like he'd make a great special teams scrub. **This is only partly true. Sounds like he hasn't taken a snap since his rookie season in 2011.

Seven reasons why Chip Kelly left Oregon?

Except Kelly weaseled out, relatively unscathed evidently having cheated better than everyone else, given the way his teams steam-rolled would-have-been equal opponents. -

Uuuuuuh...I think you're talking to an audience of one...if that. I don't think...ah, forget it. -
Aaron Williams moved to Safety

Agreed. It seems he gets a pass round here, though... 43 is Mike. -

I had forgotten about the musket men...that **** was pretty funny. but, it resulted in a penalty, IIRC. The Plax thing was funny, too, right up to the point where he was stupid to do it because he should have known he would have gotten a penalty...which he did. -

Wow! Can't say I saw this coming. Was hoping it would happen...one of his attributes coming out of college was his ability to blitz... -

The whole reason I haven't walked away from this futile roundabout is because I feel as though the folks saying he needs to grow up are being misrepresented by those with an opposing viewpoint. I don't think anyone is "offended," but I think people are justifiably annoyed when it's obvious he makes silliness a priority when his company's work product is less than humorous. Send me a post card from atop Mt. Pious, won't you? Stevie's not paid to be funny. Good thing, because he's not that good at it. Show you a receiver who's never dropped a pass? Show ME an elite receiver who was wide open, dropped a pass IN THE ENDZONE that would have resulted in an overtime win. And sorry, but doing dumb **** that results in penalties is the very definition of disrespecting your team mates. -
Steve Johnson's interesting tweet.
The Big Cat replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The tweet was dumb. It was neither funny nor offensive. Yesterday was tragic, Stevie had nothing to do with it. He's had lots of receiving yards the past few years, but they haven't translated to wins. He's really good at getting open, yes yes yes. Can we at least all agree the guy is a bit of a bozo every once in awhile, and leave it at that? -
The new tone at OBD: What they're saying

And you'll find that none of those quotes about Wanny were from yours truly. Furthermore, you'll note that most of the speculation was the from the fans point of view. If you took a quick sec and read the title of this thread, we're getting the same reports...from the players point of view. FBOW, it's different. -

Never met you, don't know your wife, but I'm really glad to hear she's safe, man. I'm sure you'll squeeze her a little tighter tonight because she's okay...and because she's fast as hell. (assuming she finished in the 3:30 range as the clock in the footage would suggest)

Patton Oswalt Boston. !@#$ing horrible. I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity." But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths. But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness. But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago. So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."

And I'm certainly not trying to minimize the grief any parent should/would feel. Absolutely that would be horrible, and it would be a horrible way to find out. But methinks a shiver went down the spine of every runners' parent the moment they heard anything had happened. God this is so ****ty.
