Life gets tougher every day
The Big Cat replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Says the guy who wouldn't be standing next to her (naked) telling every passerby "Me. I did this. Look what I did!" -
But ownership 9/10 belongs to the photographer and/or the commissioning body. That said, the Bills DO have a giant repository of Stevie pics. Strange, indeed. Hahaha, lost in all of this. Judging those who judge for judging. Look, I'll always root for the guy wearing our team's colors. Doesn't mean I have to like him though.

Oooooo, yeah. That sucks, babe. Look...I gotta...I gotta go. -
When he retires @ 38, he'll still be a young stud with millions of dollars. **** can wait. You raise a very valid point re: who commissioned the photo. I'll counter with: bb.com has plenty of photos of Stevie. For them to use one for which they don't have the rights (i.e. they didn't buy/set up) doesn't make a ton of sense. Right?

Just re-upped for NFL Preseason Live
The Big Cat replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just used Promo's. Once his runs dry, feel free to use mine! http://preseason.nfl.com/nflpl/raf/6CET77UWK3CJ -
Okay fine. If that's the case, then you'd concede that people like Stevie help set those standards (assuming, unlike Dante has, that said standards exist). So where/how should he set them? Is he obligated to raise the bar? Wouldn't a choice like this be a choice to lower the bar? What of Arian foster's reputation for how he chooses to dress whenever he's in front of the media? As per your opining, I can't disagree. Heaven forbid our millionaire receiver be above it, though.

Well, we've already identified--in this thread--TWO games he could have won all on his own and failed to do so. Our most consistent offensive player? I don't think that's cut and dry. I think you could say Andy Levitre was just as consistent, you could say the same for our running backs too. You could probably say Kyle Williams was as consistent or more. You could argue Byrd has been, too. You could argue Leodis has been just as consistent on KR/PR. To say Stevie Johnson is the one and only bright spot on this roster is categorically false. As for his antics, I'm tired of them. Simple.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I don't think being the 20th best receiver, never going to a Pro Bowl and never being on a winning team is the "definition of success," nor do I think being a professional athlete, successful or otherwise, gives you license to be a jackass. Do you think Fred Jackson would EVER show up to ANYTHING wearing any of this ****?
-
Because it's another instance in a series of ongoing antics. It's not coincidence at this point, the guy is clearly committed to this jokester persona. Problem is, the joke is on us fans. Because while he's laughing all the way to the bank, and while he thinks he's the cutest thing under the sun, we're the ones who have to suffer through losing season after losing season.
-
And that's totally valid. My argument all along has been: if his focus is on being cute and subversive, where's his head at on game day? Already we've seen him cost his team penalty yards and a half of football with him on the bench. Can a guy who has played on nothing but losing teams justify focusing on anything but winning? There was only one time where he ,and he alone had victory in his grasp...and, well... So, until he starts making meaningful plays in meaningful games, I have no tolerance for his shenanigans.

It just seems like he never misses an opportunity to be a little 'edgy.' In this case, he wore a t-shirt to a photo shoot that reads "!@#$" and has a 69 joke and a middle finger pin stuck to it. He had to have looked at that shirt, those accessories and known that somebody somewhere wouldn't approve, and that's what compelled him to do it...it seems. And again, this is faaaaaaaaaaaar from the first time we've seen this sort of behavior/decision making from Stevie. And I just don't truly believe that 'leaders' see the world this way: as an ongoing series of opportunities to---as I said before--ruffle some feathers.

I would love to agree with you. Unforunately, this is what folks say every time it happens. If I heard them say it once, okay. Twice, mmmm, pushing it, three times, okay, now we're just not paying attention, four times and above, well, here we are. This is a valid point. But he still showed up to a photo shoot wearing a shirt that subversively read "!@#$." Again, if this happened in a vaccum, it'd be one thing. But it didn't. This is like incident seven or eight that has some fans grumbling.

I'm not of the fan-ilk that runs players out of town and that's nowhere-near my intent with Stevie (as if little ole me had a say, anyway). But I am glad to see that it's no longer fringe to call this guy what he is: an immature, obnoxious jokester who also happens to be really good at running routes, getting open and picking up YAC. At one time it baffled me how these two things (jerk/good receiver) just simply couldn't coexist in the minds of many-a Bills fan.
