  1. Haha, and as per any review, I was made aware of some areas for improvement that weren't on my radar, made them aware of some things that set me apart that weren't on their radar, got less than I wanted, more than they planned to give me. I've come to understand this is pretty GD standard.
  2. Mostly agreed with everything you've offered. My thoughts below: It sounds like we'll have a 4-6 man rotation on the d-line, which is GREAT. Lots of fresh bodies, no "one" role for any of these guys. My only concern is having guys get stuck on the field if our opponent (Pats*) goes to the hurry up and they get gassed. File this under "not surprising." I have been underwhelmed with Kolb from the word 'go.' The day we signed him, I watched all of his 2012 throws on NFL Game Rewind. We need this guy. As our backup. HOLY **** BALLS this is becoming a crowded field. From weakness to cumbersome strength in one off season? May be. We've got two players with attitude: Graham and Rogers, we've got a physical specimen in Easley, we've got the guy with all the tools in Woods and everyone seems impressed by this Hogan character. I'm really really hoping a cream rises to the top (or in this case outside) and Stevie's left in the slot to do "his" thing. Wow. Just keeping my fingers crossed with this bunch. Not worried about it. He's a vet, he's coming off injury, he should take it slow. If he's healthy he'll play well. We need him, in spite of the WR crowd. I'm hoping Pettine designs the defense around this recurring observation because it's sounding more and more like he's (without question) the best player on that side of the ball. The more I hear about this guy, the more he strikes me as Jabari Greer 2.0. Here's hoping. I'm not sure Hairston would be a terrible loss. We have a swarm of solid players without a stud. If we lose anything, we lose depth.
  3. Assuming there's no Cheesecake Factory wherever he lands, then by the VY comparison, he's safe.
  4. I had a list prepared of all the responsibilities I've assumed in the past year and a report of median income for people in my position with my experience.
  5. I know that my opinion on this matter is horribly compromised by my belief that Stevie Johnson is a bozo, but here goes: The following arguments are complete bunk: Didn't you drink beer when you were 20? He's in college, college kids drink beer. Ah, leave him alone he deserves to have fun. You only get one shot at college. Okay. When you're the first and only freshmen Heisman Trophy winner, you're not entitled to the same college experience I had. I would go so far as to say you shouldn't have the same college experience anyone has ever had, because you are not like anybody who ever went to college. Your life now and your life in the future will be unfathomably different than 99.9999% of the gen pop. If you were in college to earn an accounting degree and you were staring down the barrel of a 35 year career as a CPA, then yes. By all means. GO SICK. Live it the !@#$ up. This is your shot. But he's Johnny Football. If he's lucky, his career might total 15 years , but at the very least, he'll make in five years what 99.9999% of Americans won't make in a lifetime. Then he'll have the rest of his 20's, 30's and the rest of his LIFE to drink beer like an idiot. A lot of beer. Millions of dollars worth of beer. Forever. Until then, he needs to understand he's been blessed with great power, and it's time to assume great responsibility for his life. If he can't grasp this, or if people are telling him this and he's not listening, he's an idiot.
  6. 25 year old college student!?
  7. MRW posters here talk smack about Tim Graham: I can't help it. I love it so much.
  8. Precisely. And well within his right to tell the reporter to stop insinuating that he's lying. Which is precisely the context in which his comments were made.
  9. Lost in all of this is why Marrone got pissed. It's not because he was asked the same question over and over again, it's the implication that the same question must be asked multiple times in order to cut through Marrone's bull ****. The guy fancies himself a straight shooter (per the beginning of the exchange). Set the tone early that that'll be the case, all the time. He delivered that message to players (per early and ongoing reports) and he wants the press to know he's not going to bull **** them either.
  10. The press writing about...THE PRESS!? Shocking
  11. Long story short: we haven't had coaches good enough to overcome our lack of player talent...and visa versa.
  12. The talent during the Jauron years was an absolute abomination. Jauron could have won with last year's squad.
  13. MY EYES!!!!!!!! Also, am I reading right? Did she POSE for these pics FOR the Post!?
  14. Yeah. But he really should zip it the !@#$ up and worry about how football will make the rest of his life a party.
  15. Posted for relevancy, not to add any opinion of my own.

  17. Sorry for going silent on everyone. I left work Thursday and promptly embarked for a Lake House weekend with seven other bros (it was just what the doctor ordered). I was in God's country, no cell/Internet. It was glorious. Chef, this whole process and even having the weekend to let things settle has made me long for the days when I was in sales again... Thanks again for all the advice, and thanks for caring.
  18. I think this is fair: Schopptalk Mario Williams sits out practice again. Maybe only one year in we don't quite know what he is, but I think I know what he isn't. @WGR550
  19. Two hour meeting: raise obtained. Less than I wanted, more than they were planning to give me.
  20. Oh, Ed. Your whistle. I haven't died, Wally. I'm not bequeathing it to you.
  21. Thanks guys. Just the kind of perspective I was looking for, jokes and all. Heading in in a few minutes. Standby
  22. That's so crazy it just might work.
  23. Thanks, man. At times like these you always have these thoughts bumping around your noodle. It's helpful to get them from a third party like this.
  24. This time last year. But it wasn't significant (cost of living).
