  1. So what's your friggin point? Just this once, make one. PLEASE
  2. The Steelers got SWEPT by the Ravens. What's your point?
  3. I'm sorry, but this idea that all offenses need to do is throw the ball in less than 2.5 seconds is a somehow a weakness of a defense is a point that eludes me.
  4. 92% of snaps and not a mention on the stat sheet. What's your explanation?
  5. Please be more specific. On what the Jets have done from a coaching standpoint, on what the Bills should have done, specifically to win.
  6. If each NFL is allotted a certain amount of luck in any given season, NYJ got the Bills' share this year. But yeah, I love the idea that anything other than the head to head matchup tells you which is the better team.
  7. I don't know why he's not on the bench. I'll gladly concede that point. I said he should have been deactivated against Dallas and Washington. Ddi you really not hear what Wood, Watkins and Graham said? I'm not going searching links if you haven't. You're welcome to think I'm lying/exaggerating. I'm not.
  8. These aren't the 2014 Jets, and any one insisting that Rex's departure allowed this team to succeed is making **** up to criticize our current coach. Adding Fitz/Gailey/Marshal and the Jets went from 28th in scoring to 10th. Fitz has now tied a franchise record for passing TD's. Also, anyone saying Rex was the cause for that team deteriorating conveniently forget that they had nobody--and I mean nobody--playing CB last year. Their front seven was tough as nails last year and is again this year. Their secondary, however, with the additions of Cromaterie and Revis is tremendously better. All that said, the Jets squeaked out wins over the Giants (thanks to some classic NYG late-game clock management) and the Cowboys. They've won close games when they didn't last year. Last year they were 2-7 in one score games. This year they're 4-4. The Jets have had a very fortunate season in a year when the Bills have been terribly unlucky.
  9. I'm thoroughly frustrated by the confusion too. But then they come out in some games (NE2) and that confusion is completely gone. I don't profess to diagnose the cause for that inconsistency and I'm baffled by fans who are certain of that cause. Certainly some if it is on "coaching." But what the hell does that even mean? Seriously, it could mean dozens of things. Putting the blame on "coaching" is such a lazy, broad-strokes gripe, that if you start pressing people who want to blame "coaching," invariably they resort to complaining about things they have virtually zero exposure to. But we all see the confusion. What's causing it sometimes and not causing it at others, I'm truly baffled by.
  10. 92% of snaps and not appearing on the stat sheet. Precisely what are you defending as it pertains to Mario? Wood, Graham and Watkins all made comments that were pretty clearly direct at Mario.
  11. I don't know what happened from the first 45 minutes of this season when they had the Colts shut out (now, granted the question marks surrounding that team have certainly made themselves known since, but that shouldn't take away from damn-near 3 quarters of shutout football), and the deluge that happened in week 2 against NE. But they never recovered from that game. And I just can't determine why. Injuries further compounded the issue, and then the defense just slipped into abject mediocrity and 7-8 is the result. The D sprung back to life in large swaths of NYJ1 and NE2, so it's not a complete lost cause. But Whaley's comments today are telling: changes are coming to defensive personnel. They gotta get better from a talent standpoint, but just as important, they need to get better from an attitude standpoint. Listening to Rex gush about Tarpley yesterday was just as telling in the attitude regard. And, to your point, don't for a second think that Mario's earnings relevant to his production are lost to the men in that locker room whose pay is directly impacted by his.
  12. I'd have a much easier time swallowing the hyperbole surrounding Rex's so-called dismantling of the defense if: This defense hadn't been decimated by injuries. If you're going to ignore this fact, I have no time for you. They hadn't shown--at times--that the pieces/scheme is there to dominate. They hadn't slipped to mediocrity. Fans talk as if the defense---as it had been from 2010-2013--has been ranked 25th in below in key categories. It's simply not. It's hovering around 15-20th with a 16th ranking in SPITE of all the injuries and Mario forcing the unit to play 10 v 11.
  13. His first run from scrimmage four games ago, my buddy and I nearly fell out of our bar stools because how of similar he looked to Fred.
  14. I can't tell whether it's that I find you hilarious or terribly pathetic. I guess it could be both.
  15. Thanks. I watched the game. And their stats are meaningless. They were bad in bad spots. Everyone I watched the game with said the exact same thing. You obviously saw things differently. This board means a lot to him. I don't take it personally.
  16. Graham was steady and McKelvin was our best defender? Stopped reading right there. They may have been solid, but 20 and 21 were trailing/out of position/taking inexplicable angles on every big Dallas play.
  17. I've been screaming about safety play since September. Rex's scheme needs good ones, we aint got 'em. Unless it works 10 out of 11 years.
  18. I find it courious that the offense is happy as can be. FWIW, Bradham (who wants a contract) thinks players should know when to shut their mouths and do their jobs: http://twitter.com/TyDunne/status/679740076482555905 http://twitter.com/mikerodak/status/679741527384408064
  19. I don't even bother listening to or reading anything Joe B says about football. It's consistently at odds with reality. My favorite was his offseason insistence that Nigel Bradham was poised to be a top 5 LB in the NFL.
  20. Well, he's one guy who missed time this year. You want to compare last year to this year? Okay. Defensive starters missed 13 games last year. They'll have missed 35 through Sunday with one week to play. That's nearly three times as many games missed by starters. Not sure why you think anyone is talking exclusively about Aaron Williams here. I sincerely apologize for being caustic. It's Christmas, I'm out of town and with family. I think you understand. As for coaches having to direct players how to be leaders, we will have to agree to disagree on whose responsibility it is to be the genesis for that. As for Thurman being a leader...well...that's a new one. Likewise Jimbo. Were they stars? Yes. Leaders....eeeeeeeh. I'd say this conversation is more about the Talley/Hull type leadership and presence that the 2015 team sorely lacks. Is there any arguing at this point that the current team doesn't lack that? Jimbo's requisite post-game parties is precisely the kind of thing that this team severely lacks, though.
  21. You read that as me saying he was blameless?
  22. Sammy is saying things that we fundamentally contrary to Mario and Preston. In fact, he's saying the exact same things as Boobie.
  23. You confuse "I've never been in the locker room to see..." with "no evidence of" and sell it as "never happened." Also, I feel great about the things I know. And Im reassured when a troll account tells me otherwise.
