  1. Easley is on the back burner till Hughes and other soon to be priority FAs are dealt with. He is a special teams beast hopefully he is re-signed once things settle down. Other than one preseason he hasn't shown much at receiver maybe he gets a shot this year if they don't sign another guy. It is clear the Bills are looking for a bigger WR/TE when they were sniffing around Brandon Marshall.
  2. Hughes is now the top available FA DE available. He is good as gone in my opinion. If we can use the money that was going to go to him and use it towards a OG, DE, LB, and TE. I rather have a Clint Boling, Jason Worilds, David Harris, and Julius Thomas than just Hughes and another player.
  3. Honestly if EJ can't beat out Matt Cassel he is never going to be a factor for the Bills. The Bills will probably draft another developmental QB to compete with Tuel. It will come down to EJ or Matt Cassel come opening day unless something crazy happens.
  4. At least it was a straight up deal and Bills didn't toss in extra picks
  5. It is hard to lead when you haven't proven yourself yet in this league. That comes with time I believe EJ has the necessary skills to develop into an effective leader. I think the benching will help him in the long term we will see whether or not he can translate that on the field. Reason why it made no sense to me for him to be cut until at least after training camp if he shows he does not have what it takes to succeed.
  6. Come back to me when it is March 7th and no deal is done. Both sides are going to try and squeeze each other for the best deal possible.
  7. I think he will end up on the Raiders or Jags teams with a lot of cap space and probably willing to throw out crazy money. He has been linked to both teams.
  8. Reason why there should have been no rush to sign this guy. His agent got him a great deal creating a bidding war when there will be similar QBs out there come Mar. 10th. Not disappointed in the least. We need 1 veteran and 1 younger guy to come in and compete with EJ and Tuel for roster spots.
  9. Free Agency hasn't kicked off yet. The Bills are bidding against themselves. McCown's agent has all the leverage right now. Reason why I don't see the rush to sign a guy who was terrible last year and hasn't shown he is a clear upgrade over the other QBs soon to hit the market.
  10. Not sure what the rush is to sign the guy. I rather take a chance on Matt Moore a guy who has played decently in limited opportunities.
  11. The Bills will draft a QB project in the 5th or later. Their primary job will be to knock Tuel off the roster. They will bring in a veteran QB to compete with EJ.
  12. I would toss one of our 5ths St. Louis's way. If he is not going to restructure they may have to cut him anyway and get nothing. Highest I would be willing to surrender is a 4th for a talented but extremely injury prone individual.
  13. He gets additional guaranteed money vs the team cutting him and him losing out on the rest of his money.
  14. I always wondered why the Bills aren't more active in the CFL market. It is an excellent area to build depth for guys that have very little exposure and may develop into quality players. I think if the Bills draft a QB or grab someone like a Bo Levi from the CFL. They would be competing for Tuel's spot on the roster. QB via FA or Trade would serve as competition for EJ.
  15. Defender was playing the Ball they have just as much right as the offensive player for the ball. So even though there was contact it was incidental and guy made a good play on the ball. Terrible play call ruined it for Seattle they had this.
  16. QB coach is one of the most overrated positions in terms of impact. It still comes down to the talent at hand. As far as Kromer goes I like the hire. He turned the tire fire that was the Chicago oline and made them respectable. Kromer has worked with some successful groups in the past and has developed pro bowl players. I think this group can be middle of the pack with one or two additions.
  17. I don't think Jets have a need at rb. Both chris ivory and CJ2K are under contract for next year. If anything you extend Ivory who had a good year and draft a replacement for Chris Johnson. This is a position that is being devalued look at what the Cowboys are trying to do with Murray. Just because Spiller had some success with Gailey is not a reason to spend money at that position. Honestly, I hope the Bills don't make a serious run and money can be spent better elsewhere. Undrafted rbs have had plenty of success and that is where this team needs to look at for developing their next guy. You need to see what Bryce Brown can offer and give him a shot at the starting role next year.
  18. This season there didnt appear to be multiple season ending injuries and overall pretty healthy for the entire year. So this training staff deserves kudos for a good job.
  19. Yeah it seems to me at this point the best option would be going after Mark Sanchez and giving him an opportunity to compete for the starting job. If he loses we have an nice backup QB who can come in and win some games. Then I would also look to draft a QB in the mid to late rounds to compete with Tuel. Gotta keep searching for a QB and hope we get lucky.
  20. Anyone really want this guy on your team?? http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24929095/look-tom-brady-got-crazy-for-new-years-eve Yeah me neither Brady and his 8:30pm bedtime looking like a fool again. Everything about this guy just grates on me. His time is coming to an end soon he can't play forever.
  21. A combination of Bevell (HC), Tom Cable (OC), and Schwartz (DC) sounds good to me.
  22. If Bevell can bring his run game coordinator Tom Cable along with him I wouldn't mind this hire. Cable has former HC experience and can help with the transition. Plus Cable is an oline guy and has done well with not so great talent. Could be a nice match with Schwartz.
  23. I hope Shanny is not the answer. I want someone relatively young, progressive thinker, and someone who will mesh well with Whaley. Shanny is someone who is going to want control over things and I can forsee the same power struggle. Marrone was a Brandon hire. So this time I hope final say comes from Whaley despite the inclusion of Pegula and Brandon in the process.
  24. I hope Pegula does not go the sentimental route. I hope Pegula goes with his head and not his heart. If Frank is the best candidate I am all for it. Nostalgia is great and all but this decision has to come down to who gives us the best chance to win. I do prefer an offensive minded coach who is known for developing QBs.
