  1. OJ Howard and Josh Gordon would make our offense look that much more formidable and give us some size at the skill positions. Wouldn't hate it if something like that happened.
  2. That was the word put out publicly but I think they wanted Whaley in charge going forward and notified Nix of their plans. In addition, there was a number of other front office personnel who were replaced around the same who all had ties with Nix. At which point Whaley brought his own guys in like Monos, Fisher, etc.. Also, a few months prior there were rumors that Nix wouldn't be asked back when his contract expired and Bill Polian would be taking the Czar role. Obviously that never played out but I believe the Bills were ready to move on from Nix post draft anyway even if he was planning to retire.
  3. Well Buddy Nix was put out to pasture after the draft. If something is going to happen I assume it would follow the same time frame. We will see what happens come May.
  4. I don't think either S Hooker or Adams will be there when we draft @ 10. If that is the case I would be looking to trade down. I think the QBs will slide and if a team like NO, AZ or Cle want to jump up to our spot to pick the one they want we should trade out. One of the 3 top offensive skill players Howard, Williams. or Davis will still be there to draft otherwise we can grab an OT or LB which I wouldn't hate as well.
  5. Geno Smith got 1 yr 2 million from the Giants. EJ should fire his agent that is a terrible deal.
  6. Don't know how true this is but it looks like Brown's original agent priced his client out of the market. Anyone who was going to pay Brown 10m could have had him. Miami probably used the Brown visit as leverage in getting a deal done with Alonso. Simon Clancy‏ @SiClancy @mlwilsonpublish @AdamHBeasley Again, Brown wanted close to 10m a year. Which is why he's unsigned & why he changed agents.
  7. I think the kid is going undrafted at which point I pick up the phone and see if he wants to come in for a tryout.
  8. Isn't Jim Monos on the pro personnel side? How much is this really Whaley. However, regarding this past draft I highly suspect Rex had major influence in the draft room resulting in picking Lawson and Ragland. So I believe the owners gave a pass to Whaley and reason he has managed to hang around this long. With the Bills it is hard to know who is in charge of what. It is difficult to assign blame when you have a GM who appears to just be a glorified scout.
  9. Schefter is reporting 3 yrs 45 million w/ 19 GTD. Crazy money and people complain about Tyrod.
  10. If you are rebuilding there was no point in keeping Taylor. You don't pick up his option and let him leave in FA. You then sign a veteran QB to back up Cardale Jones or another rookie QB and feed them to the wolves. If you bottom out great you have a shot at Darnold in 2018 otherwise you find out if one of the young QBs on your team can be that franchise guy. In addition, aging Vets like Kyle Williams, Corey Graham, McCoy etc.. would already be gone. Plus we would not be active in FA spending significant cap dollars on positions such as K and FB. Bills think they can compete but are looking for players who fit new system.
  11. Bills are not rebuilding due to them keeping Taylor. They think they can win and win now. I wouldn't have been opposed to a Full rebuild if we had decided to let Taylor walk which is what the Jets look to be doing this year.
  12. I am hoping all these moves lead to a big signing at WR.
  13. In such a deep draft TE class how about a WR or two.
  14. With as deep of a TE class this year rather spend FA dollars elsewhere such as fixing the o-line instead.
  15. While Chicago is trying to sign Gilmore away hoping Buffalo can finalize deal. RT is a definite need.
  16. Well would Rex and existing staff think Whaley was meddling in their business since it was obvious there was friction between the two parties. Things like this are never clear cut. If Christie wanted to help Carpenter should have called him directly and offered him advice.
  17. Honestly Tyrod looking for a place in the area doesn't mean much. Tyrod probably has already agreed to a restructure and the team is leaning towards keeping him. However, if Cleveland comes in with a unlikely trade offer that knocks them off their feet things could change. The organization is exploring all possible options until March 11th deadline. I would doubt Tyrod is released but they are also doing their due diligence by talking with the Agents for the FA QBs available regarding potential contract figures. Nothing is really guaranteed at this point until that deadline passes. At that point the Bills will have to show their cards.
  18. I agree I think we can go cheaper at this position. Safety is where our focus should be at as it is integral to this defense. If the team decides to throw money at the CB position I rather sign FA CB from the Rams Trumaine Johnson.
  19. How much of it was Tyrod not having chemistry with guys being shuffled in and out of the lineup. Did he trust those guys to get open and be where they were supposed to be. Tyrod looked much better the year prior with some consistency at the WR position. Plus I believe the creativity in the passing game was lacking and it has been noted in the past that Roman's scheme was very predictable and basic. With Sammy not being healthy for the majority of the year who else was there to take the pressure off. Don't say Clay because he looked slow as dirt last year and I am concerned about the long term knee issues he continues to have. I would be looking to upgrade the TE position as I believe Clay is going to keep declining. Tyrod has his flaws and I don't believe he is a Franchise QB but until you hit on one can't get rid of him yet. Now if the team is willing to commit to rebuilding and tearing the whole thing down I wouldn't be against it. Let Tyrod and Gilmore walk then start the purge by cutting high priced veterans. Sign a cheap veteran qb to back up and mentor Cardale who gets to audition for 16 games. If we bottom out it puts us in a good position to draft a quality QB but like anything there are no guarantees. However, it may be what this Franchise needs to do while McDermott re-builds team with his core group of guys.
  20. Alex Smith is a lateral move. I rather stick with Tyrod with a healthy complement of receivers. If we move on from Tyrod have Cardale start for the year and go full on rebuild.
  21. Kiko had a very good rookie campaign. Ragland hasn't even stepped on a NFL field yet. What teams would be willing to offer anything of worth for a player that hasn't played a down yet. Unless they Bills are willing to eat their 2nd rd investment and give him away. Ragland isn't going anywhere this year. If anything the Bills should look into trading Preston and seeing what they could get for him.
  22. Ragland is coming off a major injury. No one is going to give anything of worth in a trade.
  23. If this is the route they decide to go wouldn't totally be against it. If you are not going to pay Taylor. I would be in favor of signing veteran QB to back up Cardale like McCown. If we bottom out in 2017 we are in good shape to land top QB in 2018 draft. We could still draft a QB in 2017 but not in the 1st rd. However, if they decide to do this they need to be all in and that means blowing up team. Letting Gilmore walk and cutting some high priced veteran players like Graham, Woods, Williams both Kyle and Aaron, etc...
  24. You got to be fn kidding me. How in the hell did the Pats just win.
  25. Get ready for 2 weeks of jock sniffing from ESPN and NFL network. I am rooting for the Falcons but I see the Patriots pulling it out like they always seem to do.
