RD 5, Pick 171: Nathan Peterman (QB) - Pitt

I could see that but TT will run for more TDs and all things being equal would give TT the edge. -

I got to believe that Coughlin is just waiting for the opportunity to take over. You got two head strong men and eventually they are gong to butt heads. This is a recipe for disaster. -
It could be that there is a performance benefit in regards to music. Wouldn't be surprised if teams are exploring every avenue to gain an edge on the next team. https://thehealthsciencesacademy.org/health-tips/music-can-enhance-athletic-performance/

Some people will never accept Tyrod because he does not fit the mold of what they think a QB should be. He has his strengths and his weaknesses. Do I think he is a Franchise QB? No I don't but do I think you can win with him in the right system I do. I don't care how he scores whether with his legs or his arm they still count as TDs. Until there is a better option and someone beats him out for the job got to make sure they surround him with a strong D and running game.

Jeremy Maclin (Agrees to 2 year deal with Ravens)
billieve420 replied to BillsDiehard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly it always comes down to money first and foremost. -
Got to believe this case is going to go nowhere. Makes no sense for the accused to be grabbed for no reason out of the blue like that other than him hoping to settle out of court. This whole thing will blow over and be forgotten, doubt this will affect Rex's ESPN job.

Maclin or Decker? (If you could choose)
billieve420 replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If that was the case a full purge should have been done. Not half measures to make sure the team was competitive. Do what the Jets did and purge the roster of high priced veterans. McDermott clearly believes he can win with this group. He thinks he can turn around the defense which would put the team on the cusp of a wild card spot. The margin of error between 7-9 and 9-7 or 10-6 is small. If this team can stay healthy and show discipline we have a chance. Mentally this team has always been weak and collapsed anytime there was any struggles. Changing the culture of losing is the hardest task McDermott is going to face and we will see if he is up to the task. -
Looked like he still had something in the tank that preseason in 2015 when we cut him. He battled injuries in Seattle so maybe the time off has helped. https://youtu.be/zWYv3pwO6Q0 Again this rumor may not even be true but if he can stil go and he proves his worth to the team. I see no downside in giving him a shot because give me a guy like Fred Jackson he has what it takes.
-
I mean he still would have to compete this summer and if he doesn't make the 53 so be it. Then we can let him retire a Bill like he should be. However, I don't see the harm in letting him come in and compete for a spot. The only person with his spot set is McCoy otherwise every other rb role is open for competition.

Jeremy Maclin (Agrees to 2 year deal with Ravens)

Well apparently you have a reading comprehension problem. Where did I ever say Barnidge is a superior player to Maclin? Why don't you come back with those responses. I said I lean towards Maclin as insurance in the event Watkins gets hurt again. Maclin has had his own injury concerns as well while barnidge has been relatively healthy. Money spent on Maclin could be spread around to multiple players including TE. However, some people look at a name guy and say I heard of him and he helped my fantasy team years ago so he must be great. There is a reason Chiefs cut him as the production he gave didn't match his contract. If he was instrumental to the team they could have restructured. it is not like the Chiefs have an all star WR core to begin with. -

40 some catches last year is superior?? Both players have similar stats past 2 years. Again signing Maclin as a hedge against Watkins getting injured is fine and makes sense. However, it is a short term fix and gives us some leverage in case Watkins is not re-signed next year. I am looking towards the future. Guys like Maclin and Barnidge don't fit in those plans as they are short term gaps to fill positions while we accumulate younger players who can contribute. If Sammy was healthy and durable. I rather have Barnidge on a 1 yr deal vs Maclin for 2-3 yrs. However, with the questions surrounding Sammy who will be gone after this year if he fails to stay on the field. Maclin can fill that spot temporarily and reason why i lean that way. Both players have had injury concerns so it makes sense to me to double down at that position. However, this team has a long way to go. Breaking the playoff streak is important to some people but for me building a super bowl roster that can contend for years is where I would want the Bills focused on. Brady can't play forever but for now he is there and I don't see anyone knocking them off the AFC east barring injuries and even then Patriots have shown they are resilient. -

Well if Sammy didn't have health issues and could be counted on to stay on the field. I would lean towards Barnidge because one obviously the cost involved in signing Maclin and the fact how important TEs are in a west coast offense. Barnidge would be insurance for Clay who also has health concerns with knee issues but has managed to stay relatively healthy so far. -

If we had to choose between Maclin or Barnidge, I would lean towards Maclin. Sammy is an unknown at this point and until he proves otherwise can't be relied upon to be available. -

When I saw Alex Tanney do it after the Bills signed him I thought we discovered a diamond in the rough. Unfortunately trick shots doesn't make someone a better football player. -
NFL Roster Cuts Will Now Be from 90 to 53
billieve420 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish they would ease rules regarding OTAs especially for players with less than 3 years experience. With Vets it is 1 thing but for young players who need the additional reps it just slows their development. It should remain non contact but teams should be afforded extra time with these players, -

I think people want results and are tired of all the losing. No one can say whether these changes will finally get this team moving in the right direction. In the end the product on the field will speak the loudest. Until then all this off season talk is just talk and people just need to keep an open mind while hoping for the best. -
Brandon Beane's Introductory Presser at 10:30 AM ET

McDermott provided list of GM candidates to Terry. Wonder if it went like this. 1. Brandon Beane 2. Brandon Beane 3. Brandon Beane 4. Brandon Beane 5. Brandon Beane -
Because Tyrod is the best QB on the roster. Who is he going to lose the starting job to? Tyrod may not be able to carry a team to a win but I don't think he will be reason they don't win. Coaching staff will favor a QB who doesn't turn the ball over and make dumb mistakes. These are Tyrod's best qualities. They are going to lean on a strong running game and hopefully improved D. McDermott being a guy who favors statistics. Tyrod gives him the best chance to win this year. There was no reason to restucture otherwise as the whole organization was ready to move on. People are being naive if they think a rookie or 2nd year qb is going to come in and be ready. They are playing for 2nd and 3rd string with Yates being the insurance policy.

Can't wait for the Buffalo News if given the chance to question whether Beane was leaking info to the Bills and influenced draft choices.

GM Doug Whaley has been fired
billieve420 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Whaley sealed his fate with that terrible press conference and from that point Pegula's were ready to move on from him. Even if he didn't know what was going on he shouldn't have admitted to it and effectively throw your boss under the bus. -
We are doing things backwards as normally the GM hires the coach. So the Pegula's should be deferring to McDermott as who he would be most comfortable working with. Obviously, McDermott is a total unknown, someone who has been granted unprecedented power as a 1st time HC. However, there is no turning back now they need to sign off on the guy McDermott wants. Both guys need to be tied to the hip and if they fail they both need to be held responsible.

I wouldn't mind poaching their practice squad during the year. If I was the GM I would make sure they were constantly targeted and any attempts to weaken them would be examined closely.
