Why didn’t Belichick play Malcolm Butler?
billieve420 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Butler is going to need to take a 1 yr deal to prove himself to other teams before getting a long term contract. Any team who gives him more than one year would be stupid. -
Disagree other than Bills finally winning one. Nothing makes me and a lot of non Pats fans happy than seeing these cheater lose.

Swan Song for Belichick and Brady?

Agreed the ideal scenario is a super bowl loss and they end their careers as losers. Nothing would be more sweeter. -
Swan Song for Belichick and Brady?
billieve420 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha don’t tease me like that we as Bills fans couldn’t be so lucky. -
Sammy wasn’t healthy enough to stay on the field that isn’t on the QB. He had his best year in the NFL with Taylor playing in 2015 and still only played in 13 games that year.

Cousin has been in Gruden's system for a few years now. While the Bills were implementing a totally new scheme so not a true comparison. I think it shows that Gruden knows offense and has a good system in place. Reason why they are letting Cousins walk, they believe they can get similar production out of Alex Smith for less money. Teams don't just let Franchise QBs walk. McVay is doing the same with the Rams now. Goff looks much improved this past season but if they had kept fisher and the same offensive staff. I do not think you would have seen the same growth this past season from the Rams offense.

No one is saying the QB position doesn’t need to be upgraded. However, you have some people on this board who have an agenda against Tyrod for whatever reason. The same people who say any QB would be better even the backup rookie QB who was exposed when he got his chance. Then they try to excuse that decision by saying it wouldn’t have mattered and we would have lost anyway. However, there is no way to know what would happened. It could have been a field position game like Jax where we had a shot at winning. Winning the turnover battle is a key indicator of which team wins and which one loses. Past 2 seasons when Rex’s D was like a sieve and penalty flags were flying all over. It was Tyrod’s fault the team wasn’t better than it was. Tyrod is not a franchise QB. Him like a lot of QBs in this league are not good enough to carry your team. Now that the D played better this season still not great. Taylor gets the blame for being who he is a game manager. Jags D is bordering on elite and we hung in there with them and had a shot at winning. With Tyrod you need an elite defense and strong running game to be successful. Offensively we were inconsistent running the ball on early downs all year long forcing the offense into a number of 3rd and longs. Your 3rd down conversion numbers are going to be low as an result. We took away Tyrod’s best asset which is his long ball which suffered this year by replacing his WR core with a bunch of possession receivers. Tyrod was a poor fit for this offense to begin with. It will be interesting to see the type of offense Daboll will run this year.

WHATS THE MOVE FOR OUR WR SITUATION
billieve420 replied to DKBills25's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely need some speed on the outside. I think Zay needs to be moved into the slot. Will also need a backup for Benjamin in case he gets hurt. -
Hate to say it...Tyrod will be back
billieve420 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And Bortles had 80 some yds passing that day but nearly beat the Patriots a week later. So it doesn’t really prove much. It was a defensive battle where Bortles made more plays with his legs that day. There is a reason why Dennison is no longer on the team.Tyrod had a very poor game but wasn’t put in a position to succeed with the play calling. If McDermott felt the entire reason why the offense was terrible this year was solely because of the QB then Dennison would still be here. -

Agreed hard to say Bridgewater is a definite upgrade when he hasn’t put up numbers in the NFL to back up claim. Is also coming off horrific injury that could have ended his career and no one knows if he is fully healthy both physically and mentally. When live bullets start to fly is he going to be able to stand there and not worry about getting hurt again. Your hope is based on potential and that he is only 25 years old. However, he isn’t a sure thing. Whoever the QB is I hope Daboll incorporates more college principles into the offense. I wonder if McDermott wanted someone from new school of thinking and to get the Bills offense in line with what some of the other teams are doing like KC, Philly, and New England. Here is interesting article on how college schemes are infiltrating the NFL. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/1/29/16933498/patriots-eagles-offense-super-bowl -
Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington
billieve420 replied to Castellar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would inquire with the Giants regarding the availability of Davis-Webb. New regimes tend to like to pick their own guy. In the event Giants draft a QB like many assume they will. Possibility exists Giants may be willing to deal. https://247sports.com/nfl/new-york-giants/Bolt/Davis-Webb-New-York-Giants-quarterback-is-an-afterthought-for-new-regime-114366321 -
Tanner Lee is a dark horse QB to keep an eye on
billieve420 replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tanner lee is a worse version of Josh Allen. He is going to need a minimum of 3 yrs to develop. You already have Peterman so doesn't make sense to grab another developmental prospect. If the Bills don't draft a QB early I don't think they will select one late in the draft which is where Lee will go. -
We had no shot at Cam Newton so that makes it a moot point. Everyone knew Carolina was going to draft him # 1. So our choices were either Jake Locker or Christian Ponder and we know how they both panned out. I think the Bills like a lot of teams had Cam # 1 on their draft boards. It is not just about picking a QB it is picking the right QB and having a system in place that can successfully develop one out of college. So to give up the farm to move up to draft a QB that people are saying is worse than than the top# 3 guys drafted last year should give everyone pause.

There was word this is the type of QB new Cleveland GM John Dorsey likes. Maybe they trade the 1st pick to someone who wants Rosen or Darnold. Then depending on the draft pick they receive can take him there or at #4.

Why No Love for Schwartz?

Rumor was his choice with Hue Jackson as HC and Schwartz staying on as DC. Who knows what could have been. -
Kiper Mock Draft: Josh Allen #1
billieve420 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want someone from a pro system if I am drafting a QB in Rd 1. Otherwise I will take the BPA and look to grab a QB later. -
Agreed read option should have been the staple of our offense. Instead coaches saw fit to have him drop 3 steps make quick reads and get rid of the ball. Reason why I have no qualms with firing Dennison. Tyrod was the best option on the team this past season and they completely neutralized him rendering him useless.

I attribute that to more Marrone's conservative nature than Hackett. I remember when they were coaching for the Bills, players would say they had all these plays drawn up and how creative Hackett was but then they never ended up using these plays they practiced during the game. I question how much play calling power Hackett has to begin with.

Well when your franchise QB has a cap hit of like 13 million. I think it shows you the Pats are masters at manipulating the Cap. I wouldn’t put it past the cheaters where Kraft is taking care of Brady through other means. Whether that involves Tom’s TB12 company or other business favors including future ownership stake once he retires. I am sure Tom is getting his and is the highest paid QB in the league despite his salary.

My Own QB Review: Sleeper Pick - Remi Issaly
billieve420 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one named Remi will be successful in the NFL. -
I would take KC's offense any day over what the Bills tried to run this year. Reid is ahead of the curve when it comes to offense. I think he could pull similar numbers out of Tyrod if the roles were reversed. 3500 yds 25 TDs and under 10 INTs is definitely not out of the question. If you add rushing TDs, Tyrod could be a 30 and 10 guy.
