According to Tim Graham the Bills were not aware of the allegations at the time he was drafted. "A source with direct knowledge told The Athletic the Bills didn’t know about the allegations against Araiza until last month. They didn’t know when they took the San Diego State junior in the sixth round of April’s draft, but they were aware when they released incumbent punter Matt Haack on Monday."

Yeah at this point that is his best case scenario. I mean if you have a boyfriend and girlfriend who are both 17 at the time. However, the boyfriend is technically older. Is it still considered rape the moment he turns 18 while his girlfriend is still 17. Under California law that would appear to be the case. Whatever the reason Matt needs to step away from football and handle his personal situation. It is bad enough he did end up sleeping with a minor. Even worse if he was involved in the alleged gang rape of this woman. So I am in the camp of releasing him and not have this situation drag into the season.

Have to believe it was football related as Araiza did not hold in college. I seriously doubt Araiza would have been drafted if they knew about this situation. Now we can question how in their pre draft process and background checks this ended up being missed. However, I believe the Bills found out about this just recently at least a few weeks ago. Genuinely curious how much McDermott knew about this situation and if there is any disconnect between Beane and him. Releasing Haack looks like a poor decision in retrospect.

If criminal charges are brought Araiza is probably done regardless if he is innocent or not. I am curious to hear more about this phone call that was made at the direction of the police. It states that Matt confirmed they had sex. The women asks him if they had actual sex. He then says this is Matt Araiza and he doesn’t remember what happened that night. Doesn’t make much sense based on what was reported unless he got suspicious that he was being setup.

Not good no matter how anyone looks at it. Seems like this was kind of known news around San Diego. If the Bills missed this during the draft process and before releasing Haack definitely huge mistake by them. Now that the news is out team needs to bring in punters for workouts and have someone ready to go as a replacement if needed. Will wait for this to play out but if Araiza was involved he needs to be gone from team.

Position flexibility plays a key role. Hart can backup multiple positions. Guys like Hodgins has to show he can do enough on special teams to make team.

Singletary looking shifty out there. Just needs to be average will be a boost for this offense. So far Oline doing a good job.

If Tre is not ready to go come regular season. It will probably end up being a time share with Elam/Benford opposite Jackson. Hopefully some growing pains early will pay off by the end of the season. Imagine we will be seeing both rookies on the field regardless even if Tre is ready to go as they ease him in.

Team may adjust contract this year for Poyer to keep him happy. However, I agree either Hyde or Poyer won't be here next year. I can't see paying 2 safeties premium money now that Josh is no longer on his rookie deal.

There are 2 different NFL offerings. Need the NFL+ Premium option to watch previous games which is $79.99 a year or $9.99 a month versus the non premium version which does not. For those that don't mind risking it DYOR. I just buy codes off Ebay. Picked one up for $25 yesterday for the NFL+ Premium option. Code worked fine. I normally do the same thing with Sunday ticket as well to watch games live. I use the NFL one to watch coaches film or condensed version of game later.

Keep drafting RBs as replacements. I would avoid signing a RB to a long term extension as a general rule.

Probably the only thing wrong with Tannehill's statement was being honest with the Media. All it does is serve as a distraction. Don't have an issue with what he said but he was better off keeping his mouth shut.
