I am just curious why they don't have Milano call plays for the defense or one of the safeties Hyde or Poyer. I would have at least seen whether Milano could handle playing 2 positions and try his hand at middle linebacker.

Barkley just played his way off the team. Kyle hasn’t been great either but he has the better arm and you hope he gets more comfortable as he learns the offense. However, if Allen misses extended time we are done regardless. Would look to develop younger QB on the practice squad versus keeping Barkley around.

Next step from Allen I need to see is him getting in guys faces if they are under performing starting with the guys blocking up front. O line will make or break this team in my opinion. You can live with an average defense but if the offense struggles we are in trouble.

Play caller still makes a difference. So while yes this was McDermott’s defense. Frazier may call a play differently than McDermott based on the situation. To me Frazier was overly conservative. So will be interesting to see how McDermott performs with essentially the same group minus Edmunds.

Yeah this was biggest question the timing of the extension. Beane and McDermott were already under contract for the next few years. I personally would have waited till after the season before rewarding them with another extension. However, end of the day it doesn’t matter much underperform and the seat starts to get warm. Will McBeane see the opening of the new stadium in 2026 think that is still up in the air. If they don’t reach a Super Bowl next 2-3 yrs both might not make it.

Don't believe McDermott calling plays on defense will be long term situation. So will be interesting to see who ends up getting promoted and gets defensive coordinator job which will most likely be in house hire.

Allen has alluded to the fact that he is in fact in contact with the front office and they had given him updates on player personnel moves. I could see that being the case with Diggs as well. Whether Diggs had personal conversations with Beane about getting additional playmaker or Hopkins specifically and felt he was misled or ignored who knows what happened there. Bills did make moves on the offensive side of the ball so I don't agree if that is the case. Tim Graham also reported whatever the issue was didn't have to do with Dorsey so my initial guess would have been the play calling but now personnel moves doesn't seem so far fetched. That or something related to the WR coach Chad Hall who ended up with the Jaguars. When Allen said it wasn't a football issue in his press conference leads me to believe now it wasn't an X's and O's thing or a target related issue. Either issue was between Diggs and Allen or Diggs and McDermott/Beane.

Well this is a new one. Per Carton Diggs frustrated about team not landing D-Hop. I guess when Allen said it was not football related it could be plausible but Diggs had to know team is up against the cap. So even if he thought money being freed up was going to be used to go after Hopkins and take some pressure off teams doubling him there was a chance it might not happen regardless.
