Going to cut team some slack last year due to the injuries, travel, and Hamlin situation. However, historically team has always proven to be out coached and mentally weak. We will see how much difference having new play caller will make as it is the same defense. Hoping we will see McDermott be more aggressive in certain situations especially come playoff time. You can live with a middle of the pack defense as other teams have shown if you can force the opposition into making mistakes in critical situations. Against the elite QBs you can't sit back and let them just beat you.

I am just curious why they don't have Milano call plays for the defense or one of the safeties Hyde or Poyer. I would have at least seen whether Milano could handle playing 2 positions and try his hand at middle linebacker.

Barkley just played his way off the team. Kyle hasn’t been great either but he has the better arm and you hope he gets more comfortable as he learns the offense. However, if Allen misses extended time we are done regardless. Would look to develop younger QB on the practice squad versus keeping Barkley around.

Next step from Allen I need to see is him getting in guys faces if they are under performing starting with the guys blocking up front. O line will make or break this team in my opinion. You can live with an average defense but if the offense struggles we are in trouble.

Play caller still makes a difference. So while yes this was McDermott’s defense. Frazier may call a play differently than McDermott based on the situation. To me Frazier was overly conservative. So will be interesting to see how McDermott performs with essentially the same group minus Edmunds.

Hopefully someone decent gets cut that we can pick up. Hard to rely on Brown at this point.

FO still high on Davis. Only thing that concerns me is that he gets dinged up a lot. He started season well enough last year then suffered ankle injury and tailed off. Heading into FA can Davis stay healthy and have big year.

League is setup where you don't need a star RB. With the way the cap is setup I fully agree in the RB by committee approach. You draft RB and replace while avoiding paying out big money deal.
