  1. Cook and Nelson were the top 2 players on Kiper's list when the 3rd round started so to get Nelson in the 4th was great value and fills a need.
  2. Just the guy I was thinking about and would make a great addition to this team. In the 6th we go OT or DT and in the 7th maybe FB depending on who is available or just get another guy in the trenches.
  3. I would like to draft Shawn Nelson at #121 how many blocking TEs do we need. We need someone who could split the seam and make plays after the catch. We could go a little overboard and draft another DE Lawrence Sidbury Jr. Look at the Giants you can not have too many talented pass rushers. If it is not a TE or OLB I am going to be disappointed.
  4. I wouldn't take a FB until the 7th someone decent should be available to compete with Corey McIntyre in training camp.
  5. He isn't going to come in right away and start. However, you bring this guy in on passing downs and move him around pre-snap, he will cause havoc on the QB. I don't think anyone believes we will be able to sucker some team into trading for Kelsay. If we were able to I would go with Robert Ayers instead. If BJ Raji or Aaron Curry slips and 4 OTs go in the top 10 I would take one of those two first before drafting a DE.
  6. Kruger would be off my draft board that comparison should be enough to scare anyone off.
  7. ESPN news just reported that per league sources it is expected that Roger Goodell will suspend Marshawn Lynch for the first 3 games of the season and that Lynch will appeal the suspension. Official annoucement from the League may not come out until tomorrow per report.
  8. We are good at drafting/signing solid role players which every team needs. However, we seem to have a hard time getting those franchise players which can make us a contender.
  9. Has anyone bought Jersey's off this website and can vouch for the quality of the product does it compare to the real thing.
  10. At least it is not an AFC east opponent this year. Obviously would rather face an NFC team but this is the next best option.
  11. Trent has the arm strength to be successful in this league and the major issue with him is durability. I am more interested to see how our O-line comes together which will play a major part in how well Trent performs this year. The more hits he takes the less effective he becomes and building a cohesive line should really be the focus when training camp starts. That's why I think it is important to get a deal done with Jason Peters before the draft and not let it drag on like it did last year.
  12. http://www.freep.com/article/20090301/BLOG...1017/1049/rss14 Take it for what's it worth but the Detroit Free press is reporting a deal between the team and Greer could get done today. Hopefully Jabari gets the money he was looking for.
  13. I would say that Peters was the reason Dockery even looked passable and without him I shudder to think how much worse it would have been.
  14. I don't think it would be out of the question for him to return to the Jets for less money.
  15. In all reality there are not any real top level FAs I would be throwing alot of money at and it is really a weak group. Many guys were franchised or tendered by their respective teams. Hopefully we will make some smart signings and not overpay for 2nd and 3rd tier guys like we have done in the past.
  16. I would agree that getting a TE through free agency does not sound appealing. I think this TE and C class is pretty deep with solid prospects. I don't think Coffman is going to go in the 1st round and may still be available in Round 3 since he wasn't able to participate fully in the Combine. Ideal scenario would be to trade down a couple of spots and pick up an extra 2nd rounder. Hopefully there is a team willing to jump up to grab the LT Andre Smith or QB Mark Sanchez if they fall. Draft the DE from Tennesee Ayers and then with our two 2nd round picks get a quality C and TE.
  17. In addition to Amani Toomer here is another guy I would take a look at once free agency starts on a possible 1-2 year deal if the price is right. He had pretty good numbers in 2006-2007. With a shaky QB situation in Oakland and knee surgery prior to the season didn't post good numbers this past year. However, with a change in scenery and possibly getting healthy again might be worth investigating. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/02/18/raiders-ex...lease-wr-curry/ http://www.nfl.com/players/ronaldcurry/profile?id=CUR505495
  18. After watching Dwight Freeney run circles against the NFC o-line in the pro bowl. I wouldn't mind drafting a smaller, faster guy like Brown or Maybin with our 1st round pick. They wouldn't be every down players to start but since we would still have Kelsay wouldn't be a major issue.
  19. Good wasn't interested in drafting him anyways at #11. We already have 2 guys that have a difficult time covering in space and adding another guy with the same skillset wouldn't be smart. The only LB I would take @ 11 is Curry if he by some miracle falls to us.
  20. I don't think you have to be Mel Kiper to go with the veteran who has played in this league over a untested rookie especially with the way Cassell played this year.
  21. The center class this year is pretty deep and I think we can get a decent prospect in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft. Ideal scenario would be to sign Birk for 2 years and develop a OL prospect who can prepare to take over in a few years.
  22. I would like a FB who is not only good at blocking but is also a threat out of the backfield to catch the ball. The kid out of Syracuse Fiammetta would not be a bad pickup in the 6th-7th round. He had a pretty good week at the Senior bowl practices and would be a nice fit on this team. http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingrepo...y-Fiammetta.php
  23. See Ralph and Brandon it is not too late to can Dick Jauron. I would love to have a guy with the fire and dedication to this game that Gruden displays.
  24. I wish they went back to the old format. There wasn't enough time to hear the analysts talk about the draft pick before the next one was announced.
  25. There seems to be a general consensus that the next labor deal will include a cap on rookie contracts. So I would think that more players would want to come out this year. However, who knows for sure what will happen in 2010 when the current deal expires.
