  1. EJ Manuel gets another year from me. However, if he doesn't make significant strides they should look to draft another QB in 2015. The team needs to build around EJ. Gailey masked the deficiency with the o-line where we thought they were actually good. They are average and major improvements are needed. TE needs to be upgraded and Chandler should not be resigned. I would keep Stevie for another year but draft a WR in the middle rounds until a suitable upgrade can be found. If someone gives me a 1st and mid round pick I would trade Spiller. I just don't believe he is a every down back. It all starts up front the running game was supposed to take the pressure off and it is unfair for people to expect our rookie QB to carry the team.
  2. I am willing to give Hackett the benefit of the doubt he gets another year just because he is breaking in a rookie qb. Hackett is a rookie as well and learning on the job. I have to believe Marrone has a big part in the offense so if anything they are both to blame. However, Crossman needs to go special teams have been bad all year. His body of work has proven he is not a quality coach so I am curious if Marrone is willing to fire his friend.
  3. Game going to come down to turnovers. Tuel needs to manage the game and avoid making them against the NFL's best. This defense needs to step up today and take over the game.
  4. All for trying to make this team better. Ross was getting pushed around out there and displayed next to nothing when on the field.
  5. I hope EJ sees this and realizes it could have easily been him. He has to be smarter about protecting his body.
  6. I think the key to the game is getting the rbs in space and getting the ball in their hands. If we try lining up and running at them directly it is going to be a long day. Cincy lbs are susceptible to the pass Harrison, Burfict, and Maualuga are not great in coverage. Quick hitters will negate the strong Cincy d-line. The Browns had a smart game plan with various screens that worked effectively. I hope Nate has mixed in a few in his plan for today.
  7. This makes the decision to have Tuel as your backup all the more worrisome. This coaching staff couldn't tell he was not prepared to play in this league? I mean that is why you have a back up in case of injury to fill in. If he can't even be trusted to do that I would cut Tuel and take my chances on someone claiming him. He is wasting a roster spot at this point and should have been on the practice squad all along.
  8. Done you are killing the other guy.
  9. I wonder about the play of Brown being in EJ's head as far as stepping up in the pocket. If you can't trust the guy to block I can see a person having happy feet. I do realize that part of it is EJ just being a rookie but it sure can't hurt to put Legursky out there. I wish we could deal Byrd for a quality G but that is probably asking alot.
  10. I expect Freeman to pick the Vikings. If I were him you have a shot at being the long term starter there. They were a playoff team last year and would be my preferred landing spot if Lacanfora is correct with his report. In Buffalo once EJ is healthy he is the starter and would take back the job. I do see us being a better choice than the 49ers though.
  11. Looks like we got the star CB from this draft class. Claiborne has been benched and has struggled this year. Can't wait to see Gilmore back on the field and this defense take it to another level.
  12. Isn't it a little weird that this coaching staff which has been so secretive about injuries to come out and be upfront about Byrd's injury? Maybe a little shot against Byrd for holding out maybe. They seemed to go out of their way to avoid discussing Injury to Mario.
  13. Winfield at this point in his career is going try and latch onto a playoff team. Reason why he went to Seattle in hopes of chasing a super bowl ring. Unless there is absolutely no interest I have hard time believing he would sign with Buffalo.
  14. Chase Minnifield Cb Washington Redskins http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=7526&line=267897&spln=1 Hog heaven had a nice write up apparently surprising cut. http://www.hogshaven.com/2013/8/9/4606440/redskins-vs-titans-chase-minnifield-breakdown
  15. Trufant has played pretty well this preseason. The Jags are going with youth so would be good get for this team. Really how could anyone not be an improvement.
  16. This is a good test for the Whaley/Marrone regime. This team is soft I want to see how they react against adversity in all levels of the organization. Too many times something negative happens and this teams folds quickly like a stack of cards. Let's see how much has really changed and can this team come together.
  17. I wouldn't mind seeing Jamarcus Russell out there for the hell of it curious to see how far he has come along and the train wreck aspect.
  18. For me if it is remotely close it should go to the rookie. I don't think Kolb has done anything to show that he is a vastly superior option to EJ.
  19. Lol can I pat myself on the back as well? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/157640-when-the-smoke-clears/
  20. We are shaky at cb beyond Gilmore. Hopefully our front 7 live up to the hype which will take pressure off the secondary.
  21. It comes down to the coaching staff if they believe they can turn him into a player. Honestly I don't think any QB is worth drafting until the 2nd. We have so many needs as it is I would go BPA. However, if we take Buddy at his word and he believes there are 2-3 Franchise QBs you have to take one. I think they go with the athlete with the most upside if their grades on QBs are similar. I am assuming Geno Smith is gone before we pick. I think Manuel can play in any offense and from reports is a smart person so I don't believe learning a new offense is all that big of a deterrent especially if he is going to sit for the year. Accuracy (career comp. %): Manuel - 66.9%, Barkley 64.1% and Nassib 60.3%.
  22. I go OT Eric Fisher we need strong o-line to protect Kolb. Move Glenn to RT and I think he becomes a pro bowl player.
  23. It is all one big game I am sure scouts are feeding misinformation to other teams as well. OBD has been on lockdown after the whole phone prank scandal. We signed Lawson and it flew under the radar. Kolb being in town was another thing that wasn't reported until late. I mean you have Mort saying he is hearing Nassib. You got Mcshay hearing it is Barkley. I think it is OBD putting those rumors out there and then come draft day surprise. Also, Manuel has been invited to the draft I assume his agent has some assurances he is getting picked if available.
  24. I do believe the Bills are targeting QB with their first rd pick whether at #8 or trading back. I think all the Barkley and Nassib talk is a smokescreen. The Barkley comparison to Joe Montana at the luncheon was laughable. This is just my prediction but I think the real target is EJ Manuel. I think we can all agree that none of these QBs are finished products but they specifically singled out Manuel. Last year Buddy was selling that Glenn was a better fit at guard and after the first round finished, stated on Colin cowherd that Jonathan Martin was best player not drafted in the first. When given the choice to pick either player he went with Glenn. I think the upside with Manuel is too much to pass up on even if it means sitting him for the year. He is a better passer than Kapernick coming out and compares favorably in my opinion.
  25. The game doesn't matter it is more about the practices. It is all a projection anyway. I don't think this draft has a clear first rounder. I think the value will be in the 2-3 round. Note Joe Flacco's performance a few years ago. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/1/26/3916512/super-bowl-2013-xlvii-ravens-joe-flacco
