Tyrod reportedly looking at real estate in BUFFALO
billieve420 replied to youngjebrey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly Tyrod looking for a place in the area doesn't mean much. Tyrod probably has already agreed to a restructure and the team is leaning towards keeping him. However, if Cleveland comes in with a unlikely trade offer that knocks them off their feet things could change. The organization is exploring all possible options until March 11th deadline. I would doubt Tyrod is released but they are also doing their due diligence by talking with the Agents for the FA QBs available regarding potential contract figures. Nothing is really guaranteed at this point until that deadline passes. At that point the Bills will have to show their cards. -
I agree I think we can go cheaper at this position. Safety is where our focus should be at as it is integral to this defense. If the team decides to throw money at the CB position I rather sign FA CB from the Rams Trumaine Johnson.

Unintended Leak of Tyrod's Future??
billieve420 replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How much of it was Tyrod not having chemistry with guys being shuffled in and out of the lineup. Did he trust those guys to get open and be where they were supposed to be. Tyrod looked much better the year prior with some consistency at the WR position. Plus I believe the creativity in the passing game was lacking and it has been noted in the past that Roman's scheme was very predictable and basic. With Sammy not being healthy for the majority of the year who else was there to take the pressure off. Don't say Clay because he looked slow as dirt last year and I am concerned about the long term knee issues he continues to have. I would be looking to upgrade the TE position as I believe Clay is going to keep declining. Tyrod has his flaws and I don't believe he is a Franchise QB but until you hit on one can't get rid of him yet. Now if the team is willing to commit to rebuilding and tearing the whole thing down I wouldn't be against it. Let Tyrod and Gilmore walk then start the purge by cutting high priced veterans. Sign a cheap veteran qb to back up and mentor Cardale who gets to audition for 16 games. If we bottom out it puts us in a good position to draft a quality QB but like anything there are no guarantees. However, it may be what this Franchise needs to do while McDermott re-builds team with his core group of guys. -
trade Ragland for more mobile LB or safety
billieve420 replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kiko had a very good rookie campaign. Ragland hasn't even stepped on a NFL field yet. What teams would be willing to offer anything of worth for a player that hasn't played a down yet. Unless they Bills are willing to eat their 2nd rd investment and give him away. Ragland isn't going anywhere this year. If anything the Bills should look into trading Preston and seeing what they could get for him. -

Ragland is coming off a major injury. No one is going to give anything of worth in a trade. -
Whaley wants Cardale to be 2017 starter
billieve420 replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is the route they decide to go wouldn't totally be against it. If you are not going to pay Taylor. I would be in favor of signing veteran QB to back up Cardale like McCown. If we bottom out in 2017 we are in good shape to land top QB in 2018 draft. We could still draft a QB in 2017 but not in the 1st rd. However, if they decide to do this they need to be all in and that means blowing up team. Letting Gilmore walk and cutting some high priced veteran players like Graham, Woods, Williams both Kyle and Aaron, etc... -
You got to be fn kidding me. How in the hell did the Pats just win.

Get ready for 2 weeks of jock sniffing from ESPN and NFL network. I am rooting for the Falcons but I see the Patriots pulling it out like they always seem to do.

Sal C. on Rex: Latest In Earliest to Leave HC
billieve420 replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it was reported that Rex handed over the reigns of the defense to his brother this year. Rex didn't appear to be someone who was fighting to save his job. Rex doubled down on his brother and lost hoping for the best with McDermott. -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
billieve420 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Lynn is a proponent of Tyrod and if they end up hiring him. I believe Tyrod will be with the team and we will see whether with a restructured contract or not. -
Rebuild Job or Not?
billieve420 replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Lynn is not hired then I don't see the purpose in keeping Tyrod next year. Might as well blow it up and let Cardale start next year. Sign a veteran to back him up with a cheap deal. If we tank we are in good position in 2018 to land a QB. I would still draft a QB this year as well and continue to stack the position until we find one long term. -
Breaking News: Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan Fired
billieve420 replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed last thing I want to hear is that ownership and Russ are in on these meetings. I don't want anyone influencing who the next coach should be. Whaley needs to find someone who shares the same vision for this team knowing full well his job is on the line if things don't turn around. -
Breaking News: Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan Fired
billieve420 replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that falls at Brandon's feet. He went after Marrone and recommended they hire Rex to ownership after their interview. From what had been reported Hue Jackson was Whaley's choice. Hiring of the new coach needs to come from Whaley. He needs to succeed or fail on his own. I really hope Brandon and the Pegula's let him do his job and not interfere. -
Tyrod Taylor - pick up the option
billieve420 replied to re enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can say the same thing about the defense though. Get a stop when it matters. To dismantle the #4 ranked defense which was clearly the strength of the team and morph it into one of the bottom feeders is on Rex. For a defensive guru the offense this year should have been good enough to win with. With a full complement of players for the entire year it probably would have been better. However, if the defense was at least average we wouldn't having this conversation and the Bills would be in the playoffs. Tyrod may not be the answer but until we have someone who is needs to be kept. His is a game manager who limits turnovers and in addition to his legs is his biggest strength. He may not be able to put a team on his back and carry them but he also won't be the reason they lose. He is average in a league full of average qbs. -
Rex called his shot and failed. He needs to be shown the door. One of the largest staff in the league and they look so disorganized and undisciplined. That starts from the top and even though Rex is a good guy who you want to root for. He has clearly demonstrated he does not have what it takes to be a successful head coach in this league.

I wouldn't mind their LB coach Ken Flajole although he doesn't have extensive history with Schwartz. He was former defensive coordinator for Steve Spagnuolo while they were with the Rams. He has worked at every position on the defensive side and has a number of years of experience. Give me someone who comes from an attacking defense like Philly or Seattle where guys can play fast and just run to the ball. Honestly willing to give any assistant a shot even from the Patriots. Hell bring in Gus Bradley anyone who can mold their system around the talent we have and play to their strengths.

Cardale and a Coughlin story
billieve420 replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The next step in the development for Cardale is bringing in veteran QB in the offseason and letting him compete for the backup position. Cardale needs to show improvement and prove he is ready to take the next step. Being red shirted this year was the correct decision. We can't keep throwing guys out there before they are ready. I liked the split field sessions they did last year to give everybody more reps. I would like to see them do that again even on a limited basis. The Bills haven't developed a viable QB in years. So VR training bringing in Brady's mentor Tom House whatever it takes all avenues must be explored. QB is the most important position and that should be given the most focus in making them better players. -
Tyrod may never become a great passer but put some talent around him he will look better. Sammy being injured hurt the team. Playing with 4-5th string guys the chemistry wasn't there and Tyrod clearly didn't have full trust in them being open. Get Corey Davis in the first and put someone on the other side of Watkins will help. I think Robert Woods is good as gone but he would be an ideal slot receiver if he can be resigned. Getting bigger at the skill position should be the overall goal in the offseason. Tyrod must be kept until you have someone better ready to take over. I think he can be a middle of the pack QB and his numbers have been affected by all the injuries and random guys in and out of the lineup. I am not opposed to drafting another QB this year as well. Bring in veteran QB to battle Cardale for the backup position and make him earn the position. Fixing the S and RT position should also be the focus in the offseason. I would try to trade/cut Wood and use the money to upgrade the RT position. Franchise and try to trade Gilmore as well. Corners and Safeties will be needed. 3-4 or 4-3 it doesn't matter the blueprint for success is out there. Simplify the defense we are trying to do too much. We are doing nothing but confusing ourselves. Keep Anthony Lynn as HC and promote someone from Schwartz's staff in Philly. I think Lynn had done a good job with Roman's playbook this year. Next year he can implement his system while maintaining some consistency on offense. If we can fix the defense we have a decent shot at breaking the playoff drought next year.
-
I don't think the Bill O-line is great but they are not terrible. I agree probably middle of the pack if not a little higher. I think Lynn's hands are tied too, as they are still using Roman's playbook and he probably hasn't had enough time to incorporate things he wants to do. I would like them to be a little more creative offensively in getting the ball to their play makers. Screens, rub routes, motion etc... They have run the ball very effectively. If we can upgrade at RT we would be in good shape. I think we got Wood's replacement on the roster already. I have noticed no drop off with Groy in there and I think he has played better than Wood. So we could save money there and put that towards a quality RT in the offseason.
