Nope, we're (even though I don't classify myself as a liberal) shocked that these people with such high moral standards and beliefs in not wasting money would do such a thing.
Can't place all of the blame on the unions. Come on both sides have to agree on contracts and deals.
Like AD said "Very likely in a time when there were far fewer state employees and the long term hard and soft costs were much more palatable."
I wouldn't doubt it. I have seen some lazy, corrupt union people in my life. However, I have also seen a lot of great union people too. I'm just not one to lump everyone in with the bad like many people here do.
Of course it's only a small portion of the budget per school. As I have been saying all along that their school will only receive roughly $56k for supplies, overhead, maintenance, blah, blah, blah. $56k is not a lot of cashola.
Scratch that... I know you gained it via FCPS online posting of their budget. An interesting part I found is there allocation formula which from what I see determines how much funding each individual school receives to cover:
Equity Total available for distribution - $194,590.00
Base Amount for each school - $6,200.00
Guidance - $291.00
Per Student Allocation - $57.18
Textbook/Materials - $14.43
Library Books/Supplies - $6.51
School Office Medical Supplies - $0.64
* All factors except "Base Amount" are adjusted annually based on CPI for Education Books & Supplies annual percentage change (June). However, for the FY2010 Operating Budget no CPI inflationary changes to the rates were applied.
Of course, everyone is against the republicans and tea party people. Angels!!
Yes, Democrats are going out their way to bait protestors, etc. HAHAHAHA!!!
How was initially wrong ass hat? I have stated ALL ALONG the part of budget I was talking about did not cover salaries, etc. The $56K covered other daily operations.
So kiss my butt d-bag.
This was not an official meeting, so highly doubt the notes were published. The meeting was intended for teachers, some staff and parents.
I hope you people put this much effort into your careers.
Thank you for correcting my spelling. I appreciate it.
I gave them clarification... a monkey could understand that post. Especially the part:
"Salaries for teachers, administrators and other staff; transportation... was OBVIOUSLY NOT PART OF THE EQUATION. According to what was said, the funding left over to cover the rest was roughly $56,000."
Probably true and sad. That is why I wish unions would open their eyes a bit and redo some of their contracts. It would be in their best interest to do.
READ A BIT MORE OR THIS TO HARD FOR YOU!!!
The budget also covers the cost of providing and supporting day-to-day activities in our schools: instructional materials and supplies; program and services; salaries for teachers, administrators and other staff; transportation; facility maintenance; and technology.
Salaries for teachers, administrators and other staff; transportation... was OBVIOUSLY NOT PART OF THE EQUATION. According to what was said, the funding left over to cover the rest was roughly $56,000.
With that being said. Next time their is a meeting I will let you know.
