  1. I'm sure his union is so excited about it being recognized with him.
  2. No one is cheering anything. These job losses are real. So give me a break on anyone hoping for anything bad to happen to benefit the election. If anything that would be a republican playbook item - remember the constant fearmongering.
  3. As far as I can remember there was really no talk about Health Care or the Economy throughout the whole Convention. And don't forget that McCain | Palin starting in January will give us: Clean Burning Coal Energy, Nuclear Energy, Solar Energy, Wind Energy, More Oil/Gas Energy, Natural Gas Energy, Bio-Fuels..... I am surprised they left out hydrogen power.
  4. Does it matter how many? Why bash someone or a position that helps people?
  5. Seems to be heading that way. 8 straight months of job losses. I thought I heard someone say another 75,000 jobs lost last month. I guess Palin shouldn't bash Obama for being a community organizer anymore huh?
  6. The economy is in great shape remember that!! NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Economists expect another weak job report when the government releases its August employment figures Friday. But many also are predicting job losses to continue deep into 2009 as well. U.S. employers have already trimmed 463,000 jobs from the payrolls during the first seven months of the year. For the month of August, economists are predicting that 75,000 jobs were lost, according to Briefing.com. That would be the biggest decline since March. The unemployment rate is forecast to remain at a four-year high of 5.7%.....
  7. It's change because it's coming from the Straight Talk - Country First Express.
  8. I agree with you on that one should not expect the government to care for them, unless of course they truly need the help. That being said, in regards to McCain no one questions his POW experience. Commanding officer of non-war time squadron, some debate that experience. Personally, I am tired of hearing about both - just as I am getting tired of hearing about the south side of Chicago. I want to know what they will do for the future. To me, McCain does represent status quo.
  9. I guess being in the Illinois State Senate from 1997–2004 doesn't count.
  10. Interesting line and the typical way for republicans to avoid the facts.
  11. Both use teleprompters. However, McCain does nothing but stare at them. You are right, we shall see.
  12. Going back to your earlier post "Obviously you lack reading comprehension"... Unless I mention you by name, which I didn't, then I was labeled Huckabee as a d-bag. And so you agree with him that (paraphrasing) people who are not rich are waiting for government hand outs? McCain seems real to you? Former Senator Phil Gramm advisor to Senator John McCain was quoted as saying that the United States was only in a “mental recession” and that it had become a “nation of whiners.”
  13. And to me, that is sad. It's sad that people want to trust that position and the possibility of the Presidency if something happened to McCain with someone with that flimsy background. Hell, my high school was a quarter of the size of her town. I also found it to be in bad taste that she blasted Obama being a community organizer, putting that down. Quite sad.
  14. This is true. With that being said one could look at the over 1,000 co-sponsored bills McCain has and what state they sit.
  15. Barack Obama has sponsored 136 bills since Jan 4, 2005, of which 122 haven't made it out of committee and 2 were successfully enacted. Obama has co-sponsored 653 bills during the same time period.
  16. And republicans are the party that called people upset about the economy a bunch of whiners or from Huckabee's speech "I'm not a Republican because I grew up rich. I'm a Republican because I didn't want to spend the rest of my life poor, waiting for the government to rescue me." Yes, us democrats... we're all about getting and receiving handouts. We just wait for the government to rescue us. What a D-bag.
  17. From Media Matters... Obama was the primary sponsor of 152 bills and resolutions introduced in the last Congress. These included bills to create a federal standard for renewable diesel fuel (S.1426), to improve benefits and services for members of the armed forces and veterans (S.3988), and to direct the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to establish guidelines for tracking spent fuel rods (S.1194). Obama has also introduced a number of bills in the 110th Congress, which convened on January 4. Among the bills Obama has recently introduced, one would "improve benefits and services for members of the Armed Forces, veterans of the Global War on Terrorism, and other veterans." Obama introduced another bill "[t]o promote the national security and stability of the economy of the United States by reducing the dependence of the United States on oil through the rise of alternative fuels and new technology." If you want more, I can list more... however it would be a very long post.
  18. Before you bash democrats, name something that republicans did when they ran everything? Oh that's right, got the country into a huge deficit. whooohoooo!!!
