    Ok, without completely getting into this. I am taking a very basic look at this. Surplus to huge deficit when Bush left office. Yes, there is more to that. I'm just saying that people pinning this on Obama because it's easy and their republican boy isn't in office is ridiculous. If McCain would have won the election I would not have blamed him for this mess.

    My point was that money could spent elsewhere. That it's not always the union fault even though the non-thinkers believe that to be so.

    Yup those unions are bringing everything down. Less you forget wasteful spending many states do. Example: In Maryland right now they are doing road work on I-270... repaving the left emergency lane. Did that have to be done right now when the state is in trouble? No. Could they have spent a smaller portion of those costs in some other area like schools?

    Milking it.. umm no. Just that busy. Again, labeling without knowing... brilliant. I do not get overtime because I work for the International and I am salary. Salary increases are all negotiated at the beginning of each contract term. A performance based agreement can be placed if both sides agree. Usually there would just be a floor percentage like 3%.
