  1. Cheap shot & totally uncalled for, grow up. Agree some of the takes about Costas he was good back in the 80s when he was just an announcer, I think he got bored with sports & now tries to push his egotistical views on the public. Bob stop taking yourself so seriously. His take about concussions is dead on imo though.
  2. Why did Goodell have the tapes destroyed after spygate, what possible explanation do you have for that?
  3. keep in mind I am a degenerate gambler, putting money on the games makes them a lot more interesting & imho college sports is way easier to handicap than professional sports in Football & especially basketball. Throw some money down on the games & all of a sudden that Eastern Michigan/Kent State matchup on noon on a Saturday is must see TV
  4. I don't get this statement. Why would you possibly care about NFL Players? You think they care about you? College sports has a ton more passion than pro sports these days. It is not even close, & if you were fortunate enough to go to school that has a D-1 team it is pretty awesome routing for them. Much better than routing for spoiled millionaires(the players) & even more spoiled billionaires(the owners) that could give 2 sh*ts less about the average fan. Sorry but the overall body of evidence of the past 16 years flat outs refutes this post. No team in the history of sports has benefitted from poor calls as the Patriots have, it started with the fumble against the Raiders & continues with the blown whistle that was in error that cost the Jags the winning TD. Spygate, tapes are destroyed, deflategate, they get a slap on the wrist. I am not quite sure what the league's incentive is to make sure the Patriots are on top, who knows maybe Kraft has the negatives of Goodell & his gay lover in bed, but the evidence is overwhelming at this point.
  5. Might want to bring your water skis instead. I think there is still 10% of the ice on Lake Erie that is not frozen & as luck would have it the open water is at our end of the lake. I heard the lake is beautiful this time of year. There is no snow on the ground in Lancaster as we speak (although I am sure there is some down in ski country). With temps hovering in the 50's this weekend, not sure how good the white powder on the slopes is going to be. You should of came down a few weeks ago, my son told me the conditions at Holiday Valley were great.
  6. One year he did have more home runs than the rest of the league combined, an absolutely amazing stat for any era.
  7. I agree with this. Bills fans will never admit but it set the organization years back when Marrone decided to quit on us. He won 9 games with Kyle Orton as his QB & made the conference championship with Bortles as his QB. I follow Syracuse very closely & what he did at that school in that amount of time was nothing short of a miracle. That is pretty impressive. The guy by all accounts is a jerk, but he is also a good football coach.
  8. In my lifetime(I am 44) there has been two guys that have dominated their respective sport like I have never seen & that is Jordan & Gretzky. The numbers both those guys put up are unreal. But...when you break it down like the OP has, man it is tough to argue for Brady not at least being in the conversation. What the Patriots have done in the last 16 years is mind blowing. Absolutely mind blowing. On a side note, I will say one thing. What amazes me about Jordan is his brand is still as strong as ever. My son is 13 & plays basketball, both for school & travel. Jordan sneakers/shirts etc.. are still worn by kids that have never even seen him play. I find that amazing.
  9. I think a lot of people felt the same way. Leaf had all the physical attributes to be the guy. Just didn't have any redeeming intangibles which is often times, especially at QB(where the intangibles are so important) are much tougher to measure. I guess when in doubt go with the strong pedigree, which PM certainly had. I did something similar telling people RG III was going to be a better pro than Luck. Although who knows if Luck comes back from this shoulder injury.
  10. Yeah it is what it is at this point. It is not even worth getting upset about anymore. I won't go as far as to say the game is rigged, but you could bet the league was dreading a Jacksonville/Minn-Philly super Bowl. We have been watching this for the past 16 years, the Patriots get the benefit of the calls. Yesterday's outcome was totally predictable. In fact I even told my dad when Jacksonville went up 20-10 that the Pats will win it 24-20. The delay of game call was the right but like a previous poster said, why didn't they just blow it dead. The first PI was right if the ball was catchable which is highly debateable, the second one was garbage at a critical point of the game. The biggest thing about this game was the non holding calls. You could call a holding penalty on every play. It is of my opinion that the refs are instructed to call holding penalties on the Patriot opponents at critical times in the games. Holding penalties are drive killers for most teams. To not call on penalty on NE except for special teams speaks volumes as to where the league is right now.
  11. yeah I hear ya brother. Hey I had $100 on Jacksonville yesterday +8 so all is good

  13. Interesting insight on the QBs. Much appreciated. I don't see how Rudolph gets out of the first round. I hear the chatter about arm strength, I am no expert but I just don't see it. I have watched 8 or 9 of his games last year & it looks like he could make all the throws. At least to me it looks like he has a better arm than Mayfield from the games I have watched.
  14. You could say the same thing for Darnold, Rosen, Jackson & Allen. None of those teams had great years either & to a certain extent all those teams underachieved based on preseason projections.
  15. They didn't have a bad year. They went 10-3. They loss to Oklahoma where they put up 52 points, they loss to Kansas St where they put up 40 points & they loss to TCU where they put up 31 points. You can't possibly be putting these losses on Rudolph.
  16. The kid threw for nearly 14,000 yards, had a career 63% CP, 92 TDS & only 26 Ints & had 9.4 yards per attempt & 157 QBR. He has also started every game for OSU since his sophomore year. What more do you want him to do? If Rudolph is on the board by the time the Bills pick comes I hope they run to the podium with his name on the card.
  17. My good friend went to Pitt & he still has a lot of friends that live in the Burgh. He says Tomlin gets questioned all the time by the fan base. He also says that they don't appreciate Big ben has he gets criticized a lot also. Some fan bases just don't know how good they have it. Onto the subject, Tomlin is like 90% of the coaches out there. Nothing special. Give him a good QB & they win, give him a crap QB & they lose. Tomlin has been blessed to have Big ben as his QB all these years.
  18. Ohio State is the biggest surprise of the year imo. I thought they were in full rebuild mold. I think they are now 6-0 in Conference play & got their signature win against Sparty. Unless the wheels fall off they are looking like a sure tournament team at this point. Very encouraging if you are a Buckeye fan. UB is rolling thru the MAC right now. Looks like their tough nonconference schedule is paying dividends. It should be an exciting time in WNY come tournament time. UB should be the favorite to win the MAC, Bonnie is in the top end of the A-10 with Rhode Island/VCU being their main competition & don't count Canisius out of the MAAC tournament. They should be seeded in the top 4. That would be great if we could get 2 or 3 teams in there.
  19. I will disagree with when you say it doesn't get less exciting. Look at the games this weekend. Look at the atmospheres in Minn & Philly compared to Foxboro. That Saturday night game in NE sounded like a preseason game, not a playoff game. There is no atmosphere/excitement there anymore. The fans are so spoiled. It will be sweet watching that fan base & how they react when NE is not on top anymore. It should be interesting.
  20. Once again never said that. What is wrong with it is he signed a huge contract with the Bills which guaranteed him over $60 million. Yeah you dam right he had a responsibility to be a bit more professional & show a bit of gratitude with having a better work ethic & not leave town every chance he got.
  21. What the hell are you talking about? I am just telling you I have a good source that told me that part of the problem with dareus when he was in Buffalo is he never wanted to be here in the first place. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it?
  22. He could say he loved the city of Buffalo. I have pretty good sources that tell me he actually couldn't stand the city of Buffalo. I have been told he got out of town every chance he got. Could not stand living here. They tell me the same thing about Shaq Lawson.
  23. Why do you say that. You don't know what Rudolph's ceiling is & either does anybody else. Watch the games, the kid is a ball player, has ideal size, moves around but plays within the pocket. His arm is plenty strong enough. His intangibles from everything I have read are terrific. If he is there at 21 I hope the bills take him. I wouldn't mind his buddy Washington being there at #22 either.
