  1. One would think so. Total amateur hour in the Bills draft room. They panicked & I am not sure why. The board couldn't of broken any better. They should of sat tight at 12, Allen would of been there. Then trade up for Edmunds. I like the pick but him or the LB from Bama would of been there at 22. So basically they blew 2 2nd round picks & 3rd round pick. Great job. Beane & Mcdipsh&t are not smart enough to know what they don't know. Allen has got the most upside of the top 4 QBs. He has also got the most bust potential. Hey no one ever said the Jets were a smart organization either.
  2. Agreed. Everybody assumes the Giants are passing on a QB but I don't understand that logic. Manning is nearing the end & the Gmen may not be in this spot again for the forseeable future. We are not getting Mayfield/Rosen/Darnold is my guess. Unless Beane loves Allen(which is entirely possible) stay put at 12 & take a shot at Jackson.
  3. 1. Sam Darnold - Cleveland 2. Josh Rosen - Jets 3. Josh Allen - Denver 4. Baker Mayfield - Bills 5. Lamar Jackson - Miami Bonus: Bills Pick Mayfield
  4. This sums it up for me. His talent was not great around him but he wasn't playing against top talent. Assuming Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield are unattainable, Stay pat at #12, take the BPA & at #22 take either Jackson or Rudolph, hopefully one of them will still be available.
  5. Rob Johnson sucked in that Tenn playoff game. Look at his stats, they were pathetic & a microcosm for his entire career in Buffalo.
  6. Well if Reed didn't take that penalty costing the Bills 4 points that final drive the bills could of settled for a game winning chip shot FG instead of needing to score a TD. & BTW most QBs in the league would of cough that football up in that situation. Armstrong went unblocked & put his helmet right between Flute's chest. I am hardly a Doug Flutie fan, but there is no question he was the better QB of the two. I can't believe people even debate this. Your arguments are beyond ridiculous imho.
  7. That penalty by Reed would of been a total boneheaded play by a rookie let alone a season veteran. Totally inexcusable to lose your composure at a time like that. Cost the bills what most certainly been the tying TD & had to settle for a FG. It would of been a totally different ball game if Reed would of just went back to the huddle.
  8. I got to agree with this. Everybody assumes they are passing on a QB but I don't understand the logic behind this. They are in prime position to grab a QB, why wouldn't they? As always Bandit, nice work regardless.
  9. Exactly, that strategy worked like a charm for me during my college years.
  10. As would I but it wasn't a very nice spring last year either. It was very wet.
  11. Okay it was a lot warmer than this year but we had over twice as much rain as we normally do & I remember the golf courses & the baseball diamonds were soaked(my son plays travel baseball/school baseball). I remember all 5 of his travel games scheduled were cancelled. I wouldn't really call that a nice spring although yes it was nicer than this year. And actually if you count the snow we got we had 9 inches of precipitation in the month of April, normal for April is a touch over 3 inches. Yeah it was a great spring last year.
  12. It really didn't effect Buffalo as I remember it was more east. If I recall there were parts east of Rochester heading over to Syracuse that were without power for a few weeks.
  13. What are you talking about???? We had a horrible spring last year. I know because I didn't get out golfing until the first week of May, which is really late for me. Although this year's spring is even worse. Horrible weather we have been having.
  14. Good story by the OP. It sounds like we went to high school around the same time(I graduated in 1991). It is funny how teachers used to treat fighting compared to today. My one friend went to St Joes & he told me a story one time that a kid was mouthing off to a teacher & wouldn't stop so the teacher challenged him to a fight, said he called him out in the parking lot after school with a hole crowd around him. The kid was so scarred he wouldn't go outside until the principal had to calm the teacher down & talk him out of fighting the kid. Could you imagine that happening today? It would be on CNN headline news.
  15. it is a cool looking place. I would definitely make reservations to reserve a table that night though. Agree with Plez, I was being nice, food was not very good.
  16. Went to 716 Sunday afternoon for lunch. Place was empty. It will be quite packed the first day of the draft. Had my wife, my son, his friend & his parents there. The dad & I had 2 beers, the wives had 1 Blue Moon each, & we got sandwiches. The food was okay, I don't think it was anything special. The Bill with tip cam to $155.00, which I picked up(I wanted to pay for it, the other dad does a ton of nice stuff for my son). Pretty pricey, if you go bring your checkbook. My point is, there are better places to watch the draft. I would go to Santorros or Amherst Ale house if I was you.
  17. How in god's name have you never seen Braveheart???? You really ought to be ashamed of yourself.
  18. You make an excellent point. In all honesty the best thing to happen to the Bills was that secretary interrupting that meeting & blowing the deal. Kelly needed those 2 years in the USFL where he learned the finer arts of the passing game, not to mention if he came on board when they drafted him, no way the Bills land the top pick in the draft in 85' which netted us Bruce Smith. Something to think about. Nice post. Well done sir. The one thing I will disagree with though is that Kelly would of competed with Elway for the top spot if he didn't hurt his shoulder. I don't buy that. From former GM's to present day GM's I have heard several times that Elway was the best prospect coming out of college they have ever seen. Noone that year was going to take away the top spot from Elway, & nothing was going to change that, not a shoulder injury to Kelly or rumors about Marino & his party boy habits. Elway was the pick.
  19. Their waitresses are usually pretty hot too. A bit out of the way but definitely a solid option.
  20. Based on the stats Landry has over 200 more receptions than Sammy & 1,000 more yards. How could you possibly say Watkins is better than him; my god.
  21. Look at the history of drafting QBs. Often times the first QB selected does not have the most successful career. There are so many variables in evaluating QBs, tough to get it right in most cases. I am not quite sure given the history of the draft, how you could even argue this fact. But then I remember you are a know it all.
  22. yeah I respectfully disagree. Losman & Edwards did not succeed because they were not very good QBs. JP's accuracy was his big issue & that is hard to correct. Van Miller told me one time early in Losman's career that he will never make it because he is not accurate. In the NFL if your not accurate you have very little chance of succeeding. The windows are just too tight. It kind of make me intrigued by Mayfield. The one poster, not sure who he is, but he sounds like he studies QBs & knows what he is talking about said Mayfield's placement of the football is terrific & by far the best in this draft. Accuracy is also what scares the hell out of me with Allen. He is all over the place. I wouldn't take him with the 12th pick. Trade up to 5/6 & grab Mayfield or stay put at 12 & hope Jackson is there.
  23. Well maybe not a crap shoot but all these QBs have their flaws. I could see a scenario where Jackson or Rudolph have the most successful careers out of the 6. People are dismissing Rosen's injury history like it is no big deal. He has had 2 concussions & shoulder problems. Don't tell me it is not a crap shoot.
  24. There is no QB in this draft worth moving up for. There is no John Elway or Andrew Luck in this draft, can't miss prospects. Stay at 12, & hope Jackson or Rudolph is there & grab one of those guys. Bottom line here is no one can predict the future, everyone of these QBs have short comings in their game, Jackson or Rudolph have just as much of a chance to be the guy as any of the top 4 Qbs. Like one of the posters said before, 83 draft Kelly was the 3rd QB off the board, Marino was the 6th & they both became HOFs. It is a crap shoot. Although I am intrigued by this Jeff Allen, I haven't heard too much about him.
