Ah, Gonzaga is not a mid major anymore guys. Few's contract although small at annual salary of 1.4 million is still more than what Oates would ever make at UB. Donors of the Zags have pumped in a ton of money into the basketball program with the McCarthey Athletic Center, which although only hold 6k, it is a state of the art facility, opened in 2004 & had major renovations done to it in 2017. Zags have been 1 seed several times, #2 seed several times & are usually in the discussion for National Title Contender. Few certainly could make money else where but from what I have read about him he loves living out there & that trumps everything. He also knows that every year at Gonzaga he has a chance to win the NC. Oates said something very peculiar after the loss to Tech, said "we need to work on getting a better seed so we are setup better in the tournament." What????? MAC teams odds are have no chance of getting a better seed than 6th if history is any indication. My point is stop comparing Gonzaga to UB, they are in two different universes when it comes to basketball. Gonzaga is not a mid major.

UNC actually outplayed them for a good part of the game Friday night. I thought they were the better team. I don't think this is a similar case of UK back in 2014. They were far superior to any team in the field. There are 6-7 teams that are pretty close with Duke getting the slight edge over them because they have the best player. 3 things concern me about Duke. Their three point shooting, their foul shooting & their inexperience. They are the favorite, but it is going to be interesting to see how this plays out. The 12 thru 16 seeds are usually auto qualifiers. When they set this up, I think they wanted to limit the teams playing in the play in game that were auto qualifiers. The 11 seeds for the most part are usually the last at large bids to make it & that is why they pit the 11 seeds against each other in 2 of the games.

Come on man, it doesn't cheapen the whole tournament. If you don't like, just don't start watching the tournament until Thursday. & keep this in mind there have been 4 teams that have played in the play in game since it has been created that have reached the sweet sixteen & one team(VCU) that has made it the final four. I am not crazy about the games & rarely watch them but it doesn't really bother & certainly doesn't cheapen the whole tournament.

Anything could happen in the tournament but I really like the draw UB got. I think they are a bad matchup for ASU. The Sun Devils are careless with the ball & UB strives on getting buckets & open looks in transition. Texas Tech will be a tough matchup as their defense is very good but it is definitely a winnable game. That would be great if they make it to the second weekend.

I hear ya, but Nevada has been ranked higher all year. They started the season ranked #6 I believe. I am just stating the facts, the Pack will probably be a #4 seed & could go as high as a #3 seed I believe. UB is going to be a #7 seed & could go as high as a #6 seed imo.

Nevada was ranked higher in the preseason. Also I would probably take Fresno ST/ San Diego St/Utah ST(all in Nevada's division) over any combination of MAC teams not including UB. UB does have a win over Syracuse, which is probably better than anything Nevada has OOC.

This has been even more weird though. It literally snow & a day and a half later the snow is gone. I can't honestly remember a winter like that. The cold week leading super it was -10 here, coldest I ever remember it. Felt like -35 on That Thurs & Friday. it was 62 degrees super bowl Sunday, they said when you take inot account the wind chill, it was a 100 degree swing within 48 hours. Nothing normal about that my friend

Como Park is pretty much in my backyard. I walk my dogs thru it often. They have froze but have been closed every time I walk by it, not sure why. Maybe the ice is unsafe/too choppy.

It has been a weird year for WNY as far as snow goes. True we are over 100 inches but we got a decent amount in November, nothing in December-1st two weeks of Jan then I think we got nearly 60 inches the last 2 weeks of January. It comes & it melts though. You could see grass right now which just a few snow banks left over. Supposed to be in the 50s Sunday. We have got a lot of snow but it has been spread & it will hit then be melted in 2-3 days. This has happened about 5 or 6 times this winter(thaw)

Yeah the tournament actually starts late this year (March 21st). The weekend I am there some of the smaller conference tournaments kick off so I don't expect it to be too crazy in the books. I love betting the smaller tournaments, there is a lot of money to be made in these tournaments if you do your home work.

Bellagio's sports book is really nice. They are tough on the drink tickets though. It never used to be like that but they started getting stingy a few years ago.

I have been to Westgate before. It was too big, I really didn't like it. They were easy to get drinks from(I don't even think they had a drink ticket system in place at that time) but I don't know wasn't my favorite place. For the people that says it is cold out there, tell me about it. One of the reasons my wife wanted to stay at paris was their pool is open all year round. I tried to tell her the long range forecast only has temps barely getting out of the 60s when we are going. You can't tell her anything. Some people have to learn the hard way I guess. LOL

Yep, it is usually UNC that has the dominant inside presence. When they get going they are a real good perimeter team. Your right though, anything can happen when these two play against each other; 4-4 in the last 8 meeting with Duke having an overall +8 point differential overall. That is amazing how close that is.

My son is a huge UNC fan so I will be rooting for them. I just think Duke is going to have their way with them in the paint, too much size & strength for a UNC team that is a perimeter team. If they shoot the lights out from 3 land they have a chance. People continue to underrate this Virginia team. They are good. I am thinking about putting some money on them to win the tournament when I go to Vegas in a few weeks. They are 8-1 odds right now.

Heading out to las Vegas the 2nd weekend of March. My wife wanted to stay at Paris(which I never been before) so I booked there. I plan on spending Saturday hanging out at the sports book & betting on the college BBall games. Has anybody ever been to Paris sports book? From the picture it doesn't look that great. When I stay I usually hang out at Harrahs sports book. Not the greatest sports book but they are the easiest to get drink tickets at. Paris from what I have read sounds like they are pretty easy also. The other option to walk down to harrahs or maybe go to Bally's sports book, which is connected to Paris. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

You got to forgive Promo he gets a bit excited & disoriented when his beloved UB Bulls do good, got to love his passion. But your spot on Louisville is a very good team & very tough at home. UB right now I believe is safely in the tournament & looking at a #6 or #7 seed. They could probably jump up to as high as a #5 seed if they run the table & win their tournament. Either way, I think if they get the right draw they could see the second weekend of the tournament.
