  1. Well, it was cold here but I wouldnt say it was god awfull. It was sunny the whole weekend & temps were in the low 30s with very little wind. Not ideal weather for this time of year but it could be worse. Last year at this time I was out golfing so it has been unusually cold March, but what are you going to do. Look at all the flooding that is going on in the south/midwest right now. Could be alot worse. Maybe we will have a warm april.
  2. What you dont point out though is that if you want your kids to get a decent education down in NC you will need to send your kids to private school & pony up roughly 10K per kid for private school. I have 3 friends that live down in the Charlotte area & each one of them said there trying to move back before their kids start going to school(they 3 & under right now) because the school systems are so bad.
  3. What a joke. I ordered the March Madness package so I could care less. Actually Im glad the duke game is the one the local affiliate is picking up, I dont get HD on my CBS but with the Mega March Madness, the games I get extra in the 700s are supposed to come in on HD. At least that is what the lady from direct tv told me last week.
  4. It is not the reason JP is not going anywhere. Jp is not going anywhere for one of two reasons: 1.) The bills have not been offered what they consider satisfactory compensation for losman 2.) The bills have decided that their best option at the #2 spot right now is Losman. Im not going to get into this with you again, Edwards is the starter & barring injury he will be the starter opening day. Just get used to it. I think this season offers alot of promise, & if your going to continue to be bitter about this whole qb situation & nit pick at every little thing edwards does wrong, it is going to take alot of the fun out of the upcoming season for you. A season, I might add, where I think if the young guys progress, we should be in contention for a playoff spot.
  5. That is the thing,I really would not call him injury prone, he was healthy for 3 seasons & just had a tough go of it senior year. The separation part scares me a little. I agree with the above poster that he does have a tough time getting separation. I wouldnt be upset at all with him as our 1st rnd pick. Im starting to like him a little more then kelley.
  6. I think it is pretty safe to say that Texas has top 5 guard play, which inturns negates all the advantages Marquette usually enjoys. Marquette will be lucky to take out kentucky in the 1st round, they are not going to beat Texas in what should be a home court advantage for them down in houston. The one team noone is talking about is Arizona. Ive watched these guys alot this year & man for man as far as talent goes, this team should be able to play with anybody in the country. They have had some injuries, but they have lost some games this year that they have just had no business losing. If they get their heads on straight in time for opening round tipoff, they should be able to handle WV & then they will give Duke fits with their athletes. Get by Duke & guess where the regional is, that is right Phoenix. I dont think anybody in the other side of the region wants to see arizona getting ready to play there. Of course the flip side is, Alexander could go off for 40pts & they could get blown out by WV.
  7. You really need to give this a rest. Edwards will be fine. Do not forget he was a ROOKIE LAST YEAR. Check out his stats last year compared to other rookies over the last 20yrs. I believe you will find his stats compare favorable to 90% of rookies that saw significant playing time their 1st season. BTW, living here year around sure helped losman his 1st year as a starter.
  8. If they both get that far, it is going to be interesting game between them & Stanford. I dont think they have anybody that could check the lopez brothers. Augustine & abrams are going to have to come up huge in that one.
  9. Nah, not really. Think texas is going to have any trouble getting out of the first weekend. Im thinking about putting some money on them against Austin Peay.
  10. That is attacking Lori? Simon, you were right, I was wrong, Memphis did not play a good schedule & it will probably come back to bite them in the sweet sixteen.
  11. Well, if you consider what the bills had to give up for him & what kind of contract they paid for him & the production they got out of him, I think your wrong, he was the bills worst qb ever taken everything else into consideration. It must still burn Wilson's ass today that he paid that bum in excess of $20 mill over the course of 4 years.
  12. Well, I guess Im just tired of Simon's know it all attitude. You question him on football matters & he makes fun of your football intellect. Maybe I was confrontational with him & could of worded it better & for that I apologize, but please dont tell me that Memphis didnt play a tough schedule. If you followed basketball all year you would know that coach Cal for the last few years has scheduled a grueling non conference schedule because he know his team will probably roll thru tourney play. & for the record, if you dont have a dog in this fight Lori, why are you adding in your 2 cents in? Oh yeah, I forgot, Simon & you are fellow moderators & you all have to stick together right?
  13. Give me a break. I dont think the HOF committee is going to be too concerned if Smith isnt voted on the wall this year. If anybody on the HOF panel even questions Smith's HOF worthiness they should have their credentials taken away right on the spot. My guess is Gaughan isnt going to have to persuade the committee on this one. With that being said, Smith & Miller this year for the wall. No brainer.
  14. Actually we didnt have a choice. Huff was taken by the raiders before our pick. It would of been interesting to see if huff was still on the board if we would of went still went with whitner.
  15. But what is pretty much business as usual on this board, a moderator or long time member of the board with over 10,000 posts will make some witty post, manipulating the numbers & it will be immediately followed by his clan of dipshits praising what a brilliant post it was. The same dipshits I might add that probably have not even watch a college basketball game all season. Memphis had the 9th toughest nonconference schedule in the country & the 27th toughest schedule among some 300 + division 1 teams. In addition, they probably have 4 current players on the team that are going to be drafted this summer if they all decide to come out. Dont tell me they are not battle tested & dont tell me they didnt play a challenging schedule. It is not their fault they are in conference USA. & like I said, teams like UAB, Tulsa, UCF, Houston, UTEP, Souther Miss. They are not bad teams. BTW, I like Texas too for the simple fact that the regional is going to be played in Houston & I think Memphis' foul shooting is going to catch up with them sooner or later.
  16. Excellent point. I always wondered this myself. This was basic Madden game clock management crap. Bleed the clock to 3 seconds & then kick the fg.
  17. I highly doubt brown is going to be a future janitor. They are similar in the fact that they both seen better days at the time of their departure.
  18. Thomas wasnt exactly lighting up the league when he went over to the dolphins. They were/are both at the tailends of their careers trying to get one last paycheck.
  19. Im afraid your right. The only chance we have of keeping the bills here in blo is if Rogers croaks before Wilson does.
  20. Okay, I was wrong on the non conference schedule but if you think having the 9th hardest non conference schedule & 27th overall toughest schedule is not challenging I dont know what to say to that. You do realize that their are 300 div 1 basketball teams in the country dont you?
  21. There was about 4-6 week stretch where they were struggling. They lost to Michigan State & then got beat by wisky right before christmas. Then they lost to a bad Missouri team & Texas A&M before going undeafeated for the month of febuary. They have been pretty good since then. Lost to Texas Tech & they simply ran into a buzzsaw in what basically was a home game for Kansas yesterday. I like their team though. For my money, Texas has the best backcourt in the country with Augustine & Abrams. Should serve them well this time of year.
  22. I have watched Beasley play, believe me, Rose may not score like beasley(who does) but this kid could do everything. Beasley probably is better, Im not so sure he is going to be a better pro though. BTW, I cant get in a p*ssing match with you. When I was in vegas for the superbowl, before Texas started going on their run, I got them to win the National Championship @ 40-1. I put $50. I believe they were barely a top 25 team then. Well they had a great feb & pretty good march. If they could get by Stanford, which I think poses a big matchup problem for them, I think they could get to the final four. Hook em Horns!!!
  23. Wrong again Simon. I always knew you didnt know what you are talking about in football but I guess you could add college basketball to the list of topics you like to talk out of your ass about. Let me give you a little lesson on Memphis. This team is loaded with talent & may have 4 first round picks in the NBA this summer if they all decide to go out(Rose, Dozier, Dorsey & Roberts). For all the hype that Beasly, Mayo & Love get, for my money Rose maybe the best freshmen in the country. To question their schedule or their competition is down right assinine. Memphis played the #1 non conference schedule in the country. Their nonconference schedule included Oklahoma, Uconn, USC, Georgetown, Austin Pea, Cincinatti, Siena, & of course Tennessee. All those teams are NCAA tourney teams(besides Cinci). In addition, conference USA well not a top 5 league, certainly has competitive teams. Teams like UAB, Houston, UTEP, Central Florida are not that bad. No, my guess is Memphis' problem wont be that the level of their competition is not good enough(coach Cal has these boys ready to play), their undoing is going to be their horrendous foul shooting. Worst in the country.
  24. One thing about Fletcher, in his 5yrs in buffalo, I can never remember him blowing up a play behind the line of scrimmage. Im sure he did, but I dont have any recollections. Compared to Spikes, where I remember numerous times he wreaked havoc in the backfield. Just an observation I guess. I strongly disagree with a couple of the posters saying that there is going to be a dropoff in play @ mlb if Willis gets drafted by the bills. If Willis is a good as alot of people think he is, as far as Im concerned there will be a significant upgrade. I am of the opinion that the only guy the bills lost this offseason that is really going to be felt is Clements. Hopefully youboty could step up.
  25. I paid 215K for my house & I pay I think 4,400 in taxes living in Lancaster.
