  1. I would not have a problem at all drafting Rivers. Are we that much in love with Crowell that we are not even looking for an upgrade. & besides, I believe he is a free agent after this year. My dream draft would go like this. The bills trade down to the 19th spot with Eagles & in return get Lito Shepperd. At 19, we take Devin Thomas or Sweed & then with our second round pick we take the LB from Penn St. Highly unlikely but you never know.
  2. What time are you getting married? Maybe in honor of your wedding day I was thinking about doing a 2 beer funnell right at the time the priest says you may kiss the bride.

  4. Thank you. My life is not all roses either but I do know how to do things right when it comes to crap like this.
  5. Im also throwing $100 on san jose tonight. Noway they should lose game 7 in the shark tank. That line Im not crazy about. They are minus 180, awfully high for a game 7.
  6. Im thinking about putting $100 on washington tonight, they are minus 140. Can not see philly winning this one after coughing up that 2 goal lead last night. & do not think for a minute that the powers to be in the NHL do not want to see sid the kid vs ovy in round 2.
  7. It is not just the draft though. It is the whole day of festivities. I go golfing every saturday morning. We get the 1st tee time & usually tee off around 6am. So I will go golfing, be home by 9:30, take a little nap, then I will take the little guy to his soccer game at noon, be home by 2:30 & start cracking the beers. I will put $50 on a few NHL & NBA playoff games. Flip back & forth on those during the draft. Maybe tune into see how the Mets are doing. A few of my friends will stop over. I will play a little mini basketball with the little guy down in the clubhouse(that is what me & my son call the basement) all while watching some good sports during the duration of the day & yes the draft although tedius at times is must see tv. Where else are you going to get your football fix in April???? Add in some good grilling over the course of the day(Im going to be doing burgers in the afternoon along with shrimp kabobs, taco dip, stuffed mushrooms, baby back ribs for lunch/appetizers & lobster tails & strip steaks at night). I have 5 friends that are coming over. Cap off the day by building a bonfire at night & it is a pretty good way to spend a saturday in late April. So as you could see, it is not just watching the draft, it is the culmination of golfing, spending quality fun time with the little guy, boozing, gambling, eating excellent food & watching quality sports on the plasma tv.
  8. Believe me, go with your second thought. You will be much more happy in the end & if she really loves you, she will put up with it. I got to admit, your not off to a good start with scheduling the wedding on draft day. But, hey think of it this way. At least she is letting you keep the tvs on so that is a good sign. Believe me, most brides would not have it & if your bride is the girl in the Avatar, I would give up watching sports forever. Who needs sports if you have a wife that looks like that.
  9. Just a quick story for you young guys. Back in 1999(this was before I was married) my wife(my girlfriend then) & I had a wedding to go to on a saturday night. It was one of her friends. She was standing up in it. The problem was the Mets were playing the braves in Game 4 of the NLCS at 8:00. They were down 3-0 at the time. Since the bride did not want any sports interferring with her precious day she ordered all the tvs off at the bar for the night. When I found this out I told my wife fair enough, but Im leaving at 7:45 so I do not miss any of the game. Being a mets fan since 1981 & going thru mostly miserable season after miserable season for the better part of 17yrs(except for 86 & 88), I was not going to miss this playoff game. I was sitting at dinner with people I did not even know & just got up & left at 7:45 without even saying good bye too my wife. She called me when she got home that night screaming at me & I simply told her that the Mets game was more important to me then her friends wedding. She would not talk to me for about 3 weeks & we actually ended up almost breaking up over it but I do not regret it one bit. Olerud hit a 2 run single off of Rocker in the bottom of the 8th & the mets won 5-4. They ended up losing the series in 6 games(dam Kenny Rodgers) but the line was clearly drawn in the sand that day that I will not be bullied into missing a sporting event that is important to me.
  10. A little advice for the young guys that are stupid I mean crazy enough to get married. Lay down the law early. Let your significant other know this sh*t is important to you & you are not going to miss it. Ive been married 7yrs now & the wife knows certain weekends to leave me alone. You know opening weekend of college football, all bills games, New Years Day(bowl games), the NCAA tournament, Cuse games, & draft weekend. We have a little guy now(just turned 4) & if you bring him up right & show him the ropes he will be into it also. He loves sports just as much as I do. My wife is dying for a daughter just to even it up a little bit. But the most important thing is to let her know where you stand right off the bat. If you wait or do not speak up for yourself in the beginning that is fine. Just be prepared to going to craft shows Sundays in the fall for the next 35 years of your life.
  11. Im not trying to spin anything. You said I was cherry picking the 05 games. The winning % of teams each qb faced that year tells a different story who started against the better teams that year.
  12. Yeah, I try to stay away from these threads but I just can not help myself. Any minute now Ramius should be calling me a tard & making some kinda wiseass remark about how Im late for the short bus to pick me up from school.
  13. I was wrong. JP won one game in 05, the houston game. But, he started against Houston (2-14), Tampa(11-5), Atl(8-8), New Orleans(3-13), San Diego (9-7), New England(10-6), Carolina(11-5) & Miami(9-7). Winning % for those teams were .492 - 63-65. Holcolmb started against Cincy(11-5 win), Denver(13-3 Lost), NE (10-6 lost), KC (10-6 won), Oak (4-12 lost), NYJ (4-12 twice, split) for a opp record of 65-56 or a 537 winning %. How is that cherry picking.
  14. Yep, as much as people want to ridicule Holcolmb & make fun of him, in 05 he was 5-4 as a starter, Losman was 0-7. IMHO, JP has been the biggest problem with the offense the last three years. People underestimate the qb position on this board. Everything runs off the qb IMO. If he is not making the proper reads, throws & decisions the offense has no chance to be successfull. Now that we got him out of there, hopefully we will see some improvement with edwards at the helm. It should be a smoother more efficient offense this year as long as Edwards stays healthy & JP does not see the field.
  15. Simple math my good man. They went 5-11 JP's first year starting, 7-9 his 2nd & 7-9 his third. Take away his won loss record from these records & you have 9-8. Now Im sure someone is going to want to credit Losman with the KC game his first year(when holcolmb got hurt) & obviously the jets game this past year as win's for JP. Fair enough. 12-21 or a .363 winning % with jp starting & 7-8 or a .466 winning % without him starting. So as you could clearly see, the bills chances of winning on any given sunday increase more then 10% if one JP Losman never sees the field.
  16. Okay, then Im an idiot I guess for thinking Losman is a bad qb. Never said he was the sole reason the bills lost those games yet... in games he did not start for the bills in that same three year period where he went as a starter 10-21 the bills are 9-8.
  17. I guess he could go to another team & become a good starter, I just do not think that will happen. Too many holes in his game. Could I be wrong? Sure. Just my opinion.
  18. my friend at work who does some business for the bills was telling me on friday he spoke to one of the higher ups & said season tickets are up this year & they may come close to breaking the record(I think it is 58K). I called down to the bills office today & the guy told me single seats for season ticket holders are not going on sale to June 5th, 6th & 7th. But he also told me june 5th & 6th, season ticket holders are only allowed to buy 6 seats per ticket & then June 7th it is opened up to group sales & you could buy as many as you want. Anybody else hear something similar to this?
  19. Hey, there were alot of things wrong with the offense last year. I think JP was a big part of it though. He is just not a smart accurate qb. Those 2 things wil get you beat everytime.
  20. You do realize JP was in his 4th year & Edwards was a rookie? His play should of been leaps & bounds over edwards but their play was comparable & I would say that Edwards was the better qb last year. I know out on the big island you probably dont get to watch the actual games, so I will fill you in on a little known fact. LOSMAN WAS HORRIFIC LAST YEAR.
  21. You dont owe him an apology. He said something to the tone of I hope Losman goes to another team & lites our ass up twice a year.
  22. They are probably saying on their meesage board the same thing about our fans & Losman.
  23. Yeah, making the super bowl less then 2yrs ago must really suck.
  24. Another untruth made up by the Losman supporters In fact, 3 of his top 6 passing games that year as far as yardage are concerned came in the 1st half of the season. Game 3, NYJ threw 38 times for 328 yards. Game four Minn, threw 32 times for 222yrds. Week 6 Detroit, threw 34 times for 207 yards & week 9 Houston, 26 times for 340 yards. In fact out of the last eight games the only other time besides houston was tenn that he threw for over 200yrds & baltimore & baltimore he threw for 145 of those yards in the 4th quarter which was garbage time. My point, I think nothing scare the coaches more concerning this team then letting losman air the ball out. Let him air the ball out enough & he is going to make enough stupid decisions to get you beat everytime. I think the coaches realized that after the 1st jets game. BTW, another interesting stat. Of his top 6 passing games of 06, the bills were 2-4 in those games & it took a miracle catch by price in the final seconds of the houston game to not make it 1-5.
