  1. I heard that to. The dope was talking about how because they got 17K people at the bandits game this weekend that people are finally realizing in this town that there are other good things in sports & that it is not the end of the world if the bills leave. I mean the bandits are a nice stroy, but they are what they are. I wish the dope would get this thru his head, that the NFL is the thing, it is the only thing that connects buffalo to big time sports. He was also on monday arguing with sullivan saying that the ratings do not mean nothing & the NFL is all hype. Sullivan was like I agree the nfl is some hype but when the NHL is drawing 1% rating for their conference championships it pretty much means noone cares about the sport in this country. The dope just could not comprehend that. & I know, I always tune in for 5minutes on the drive home get aggravated & then tune back to fm. I do not know why I put myself thru this aggravation every day even if it is for only 5 minutes.
  2. Actually when I worked at Tops in college they hired me to be one of the butchers. I told them I had no experience doing this but they did not care. The third day I was there I almost got my managers hand cutoff by accidently turning on this machine that he was in the process of cleaning. After that incident, they quickly moved me to produce.
  3. You must be the fuggin owner of Tops. If you are I just want to say "you were a real prick for firing me back in 1994 just for punching in 45 minutes late. BTW, Wegmans blows Tops out of the water. It is not even close.
  4. Hey I would be all for it if some of my friends wives would lighten up a little bit. But, I can not complain. We still do have alot of guy weekends. It is just unfortunate that this weekend is no longer done, because that was fun, especially on the weekends where the weather was nice. Crazy buffalo weather. I was there in Octoberfest when it was 80 degrees & we were in shorts & tee shirts at the beer tent on saturday afternoon, & I have been there twice when it actually snowed(not alot an inch or two).
  5. I never said it was my opinion. All I said was the show which does an introduction of the city in the first part said that Philly has a complex, possibly because they are sandwiched in between by two of the greatest cities in the country. I have only been to Philly once, seemed like a nice place to live.
  6. Yeah, that I do not understand. If $20 is going to break you, you probably should be just cooking hot dogs in the backyard this weekend instead of even thinking about making travel plans.
  7. Do you ever watch City Confidential? They did a crime in Philly one episode & that was the first thing they talked about. How Philly always feels inferior because they got such great(meaningfull) cities right next to them. NYC to the north & DC to the south.
  8. I noticed that too. MY wife & I are thinking about going to vegas in the fall. I go to Vegas every year for the superbowl & usually one other time. If I book the flight far enough in advance I usually could get it in prior years for $200 - $230. I just went to look up the flights & I can not find anything for the dates we want under $380. That is a big jump, especially if you have alot of kids.
  9. I used to go down there when I was in college & before everybody got married for OctoberFest. Man, those were some wild times. About 10 of the guys every year would rent a Chalet & party our asses off all weekend. Good times. Im only 35 but we all got married, some of my friends wife's are lets just say less understanding then my wife, we all had kids & we stopped going there about 5 years ago. I miss those times. Definately a nice place.
  10. I found that funny too. The bills raise ticket prices & there is a full week of shows bashing them & portraying them as greedy. Yesterday, a guy called in & said his invoice went up on a pair of 100 levels from 4,000 to 4,800 & all the dope had to say was "well that is a hefty increase but it is still the best deal in sports". I dont know why I turned them on either on the ride home, I usually do not. I think it was 2 weeks ago, they actually had dennis williams on with bullsh*t for a whole week. They were actually pretty good which brings me to the conclusion that the real problem on the afternoon format is the dope.
  11. Buffalo Country Club, Park Country Club, Transit Valley, Fox Valley, Craigbyrne, Wanakaka(sp) Country Club, PeaknPeak, Penn Lakes, Legends, Grand Niagara, Cherry Hill Country Club, Whirlpool Country Club. The last 5 are in Canada, so technically not WNY, but a short drive once over the Peace Bridge. Whirlpool is probably a stretch also. Nice course, probably not nicer then NFCC. It is definately not nicer then the first 9 courses I mentioned though. If you add Rochester into the mix, then I could easily come up with 15. Rochester area has some great courses, much nicer then the buffalo area imo.
  12. Look at all the receivers that went onto other teams & they are nowhere near as good as they were with the pats. There whole operation is in question. Im sorry, but I watched Tom Brady in college & the guy was just not a good qb. He could not even beat out Drew Henson for the fulltime job. I realize that failure/success in the college game sometimes does not translate to the pro game but come on. This guy was not a good qb in high school(only reason he got a scholarship to michigan was because one of the recruiters owed his dad a favor) & he was not a good qb in college. I find it hard to believe that this guy did not benefit greatly from cheating. I always wonder how when you watch the pats games that alot of times wrs are so wide opened you can not see anybody else in the screen. Fug you chowderheads.
  13. NFCC is definately a nice course, with that being said it is not even close to one of the nicest courses in this area. I do not think it would even make the top 15.
  14. I agree. Diamondhawk is not all it is cracked up to be. If you really want to play a nice course a do not mind a little ride(about an 1hr & 20 minutes from the stadium) play the upper at PeaknPeak. You will not regret it. I would put it up pretty much against any public course in the Northeast(it is that nice). I think they drop their rates after labor day also. Should get it with cart for about $75.
  15. How much hotter can it get? I read somewhere & I could be wrong that it is almost impossibly for florida to get over 100 degrees due to the ocean currents. I know Miami has never reached over 100 degrees.
  16. Oh I know, I just always get confused with the inner harbor/outer harbor/erie basin/small boat harbor. You think I would know them by now, I have lived here all my life.
  17. I took a walk out there today during my lunch. It was beautiful. About 70 degrees, nice breeze coming off the lake. I know it is probably not as nice as the hell hole where you are better known as Tallahassee, FL, where it is 90 degrees today & you probably can not even go outside for 5 minutes without getting heat stroke.
  18. Okay fine, the Erie Basin Marina. I do not own a boat so I have no idea what these harbors are called. But anyways, they are building condos there.
  19. sorry about that. Little trigger happy
  20. You make a good point Cincy. My friend who used to work for the army core of engineers told me one time that one of the main problems in developing that land is that that once they start digging, they are terrified of what they are going to find. I suppose they do not want another love canal incident.
  21. I think your talking about the land past the skyway. That has not been developed as of yet & who knows if it ever will. There are condos back in the small boat harbor, kinda back by the old Craw Daddy's(now Shang Hai Reds) that are being built. Some of them have been there for awhile now(I think Michael Pecca used to live in one of them)but they are putting new ones up also.
  22. They are already built though. & they are in the process of building one more with another one to be started next year. Someone must be buying them if they keep building them. I would not raise a family there(not because it is a bad neighborhood) but just because like the previous poster said, there really is nothing else around there at this time. Hopefully, as time goes on, that will change.
  23. That is not the area Iam talking about. The area Im talking about is behind HSBC Center, behind the aud, & behind that business complex. Kinda across from the Hatch. Your talking about the area down toward the pier right?
  24. They are nice area. I do not know about raising a family just because they really do not have any yards. Your yard is basically Lake Erie.
  25. They are not on three sides of water. It is just one side. I think your thinking of a different location. The wind is brutal though when it gets going down there though.
