  1. Yeah but the problem with letting AP beat you is that teams do not fear the vikings pass game. Green Bay was stacking 8-9 guys in the box in the opener & Jackson still could not make them pay. Are you going to regret giving up on a young qb too soon once in awhile? Sure, but like you even said the law of averages says you are probably not. If Jauron & Turk had some people's patience & desire to keep giving our young qb a chance Losman would still be the starter. I for one am glad he is not. Plus you got to remember, these guys see every practice & every drill & I think they have a pretty good idea if a qb gets it or is going to get it.
  2. I am not wrong. For every Dree Brees or Steve Young I could name you 10 other Qbs that teams should of cut ties with them earlier but they wanted to give them 5 chances to succeed. The Vikings have a championship caliber team imo & are being held back by the QB. Teams do not have the time or the patience nor should they to wait for guys like Jackson to figure it out. It is a win now league. I have not seen Jackson play a ton but I saw him play @ Green Bay this year & on Sunday night with their playoff lives on the line last year against the Redskins. Both times he did not play well & his team was scared to death to put the ball in his hands. Do I think Ferrotte is the answer? Probably not, but he gives the Vikings a better chance to win the jackson IMO & that is all that probably matters to Childress right now.
  3. We get it, Whenever a young QB struggles, it is always the coaches fault, the playcalling, the offensive line, his supporting cast blah, blah, blah. Have you ever considered that maybe just once in awhile when a young QB struggles it is because he sucks & probably will never be a good QB in this league. Remember when it looks like a turd, feels like a turd & smells like a turd, it is probably a turd & there is no bigger turd in the NFL right now as far as starting QBs go then Tavaris Jackson. That guy is just awfull.
  4. Wow that is a big blow. Sanders changes the whole complexion of the Indy defense. I know this might sound crazy Deano, but I really think the Colts are going to have a tough time even making the playoffs this year. Their o-line is a shread of what it used to be, the D is hurting & Harrison looks like he is on his way out. Do not get me wrong, you could never count a team out that has Peyton Manning, but with that being said, I just do not think his supporting cast is there this year. We just maybe seeing the start of the fall of that team.
  5. Dude, I know you are a big Mizzou fan, but seriously, who wants to watch the Tiger beat up on Southeast Missouri State & Nevada? Once Mizzou starts playing the big 12 schedule, they will start getting games on TV. I do not know if you have direct tv or ESPN gameplan but they will definately be on that once the big 12 schedule starts up. In fact, ABC regionalizes their coverage & has the big 12 so once they start conference play you probably will get most of their games on your ABC affiliate I would have to imagine.
  6. You could always try to hit the college tail once the wife & mother in law go shopping in the afternoon. You could just tell the college coeds you have all the booze & pot they could handle if they would be willing to take a ride with you. Hey you never know if it will work if you do not at least try.
  7. If you guys are ever in town for a game how about my driveway. I live about 10 minutes away from the stadium. We could throw empty beer cans on my neighbors lawn & wake him up as soon as the sun rises. The guy is a real jerk.
  8. I think his point is that Brett Favre is an overthehill has been qb that fuggin sucks & should be cutting his grass on his farm in Missisippi & Edwards is an upcoming good solid young qb.
  9. So are your Browns. You should not be calling any other team terrible after the way your team has played the first 2 games. Cleveland is going to have a tough time pulling out of it this year. They only play one more game at home until November, their schedule is brutal, the secondary stinks & I think you are going to see B Quinn in games by Halloween. Although they did cover the 6 pt spread last night & I had $50 on them so I am gratefull for that.
  10. This was a tough spot for Peters. Physical defense, playing in 100 degree weather & only having a week of practice. I thought he came out reasonablly well given the circumstances.
  11. If you honestly think Losman & Edwards are at similar stages of their developement, I really have to question your football knowledge.
  12. Give me a break. I do not know how you could say he was looking a little like Bledsoe today. I think he was only sacked twice & the one sack Peters totally whiffed on his block. His pocket presence for someone so young is the most impressive part of his game IMO. Not to turn this into a Losman vs Edwards thread, I at least hope now that people that were clammoring all last year & all offseason about how Losman was mistreated & how he should be the guy can at least admit they were wrong. Noway we win this game if Losman is under center today. The coaches saw something special in Edwards & they stuck to their convictions by not opening a qb competition this summer & naming Edwards the guy. They deserve alot of credit for their decision to annoint Edwards the starter from day 1 this offseason & not dick around with some half azzed qb competition.
  13. They need to expand their football league to more then 8 teams. I do not know who they can add, but anything would be an improvement to what they have this year.
  14. You called it before the season started that UNC maybe better then people expect. One thing we do know about Butch Davis is the man has a knack for recruiting, it was only a matter of time before he got some talent into Chapel Hill. I kinda like Maryland over Cal tomorrow, especially getting 15 pts at home. Cal has looked pretty good although Wassu is horrible this year. Maryland could not of started any worse, nearly getting beat by a D-1 AA team the first week & then losing to Middle Tenn St last week. I do not know. This is a game the fridge usually wins. Big spot, at home, noone giving them a chance. I think I may put some coin on them tomorrow with the points.
  15. I am going with the little guy but probably will not get there to 12:30 or so. He has a soccer game saturday morning that will end around 11:30/11:45. We are going right after that. It is going to be kinda weird going into a football game sober.
  16. It is not even close this year. The Big East is just downright awfull. We shall see how USF does against Kansas tonight.
  17. I really do not think it is going to be an easy game. It is very rarely easy on the road no matter who you play. With that being said though, I really think if we do not beat ourselves with turnovers/special teams/mental break downs on d, we should win. Jacksonville is too banged up in an area where games are usually won & lost. Bills 17 JVille 7
  18. That is a good tradition my man. Maybe I will start doing that. I usually wake up around 5:30 on days of the home games because I am so excited so maybe I will just pop open a beer first thing when I let the dog out.
  19. I thought about that. It is a poor excuse. I cracked my first beer last sunday @ 7:45am on the way to the Ralph.
  20. See that is the difference between East Coast sport fans & west coast sport fans. West Coast fans think it is a big deal to get to the place a 1/2 hour before kickoff. Try getting a seat in Mcfaddens in NYC a 1/2 hr before the bills kickoff, you will get laughed out of the place. Most of the people there are on their 8th or 9th beer at that place 1/2 hr before kickoff.
  21. Alright, I do not want to get into anybody's financial situation. I have been thru Albany a few times & it is a Giants/Yankees town first & I believe a Bills town 2nd(even over the Jets). CBS should always being showing the Bills game whenever possible.
  22. Or you could just stop the complaining(not you Dean), get Direct TV & drop the $250 & order the NFL Ticket. I do not know how any bills fan that lives outside the local market for Bills games goes without the Sunday Ticket. If I lived outside WNY I would definately have it. In fact I had it for the last 3 years even though I go to all the bills games. I decided to drop it this year because it just was not worth it with me being at the Ralph 8 sundays a year. I would just look at it as a cost saving measure. I am saving a $1000 by not getting my pair of season tickets, plus another $70 - $100 a week going to a bar to watch the game(I like to booze it up on Sundays) & it virtually pays for itself within the first month of the season.
  23. Had off yesterday & went to MT with my 4yr old(for some reason he wanted tacos). I think this was the first time I went in there all year. Once I took a bite out of my taco I remember why. The place is totally overrated by former WNYers that just miss bflo's food. Taco Bell is better & just for the record I think taco bell sucks too.
  24. When the schedule first came out, I penciled the jville game as a sure loss but with their injuries & the way we looked sunday, I really think we have a chance to beat them. Either way, we should be 3-1 after the first month. The Arizona game will be another tough one.
