  1. Ub got a bad draw with Vermont. They really needed to play a team like Butler/Davidson/Utah St. I realize they would probably get beat by these teams, especially playing on the road, but if by chance they could of beat a team of this stature, they would be in the at large talk come selection sunday. That being said, they are probably going to have to win the MAC tourney to get to the dance.
  2. Same here. I bought a new set of Taylor Burner Irons mid november. I thought I would be able to get out at least 2 or 3 more times & try them out. I usually get a round in around thanksgiving & then like you said there is always that nice december day you could get out & play. Not a chance this year. They have sat in the box for the last3 months. I have went up to the dome twice but it is just not the same.
  3. Yeah, to each their own. Buffalo has some good points & some amazing things to see(Niagara Falls) & I think it is a great place to live if you have a 1/2 way decent job. Great place to raise a family. This time of year(especially this winter as it seems like it has been extremely cold) I get the golf itch & always think about moving somewhere I could golf year round instead of the 8 months up here(I like to push the envelope, as long as there is no snow on the ground I try to get out golfing). The latest I ever golfed was December 29th one time. We were at Terry Hills. Temps started out in the 40s & were dropping as we progressed in our round. On the 18th hole it started snowing!!! We finished the hole & the round though & I ended up shooting an 86. Not bad for a guy that could not feel his hands after the 10th hole.
  4. I just bring up the qb position & it never being franchised because the number is so much higher then any other position. But if the market dictates that a team is only going to pay Cassel 8-10 million per year, what can the NFLPA really do about it? I suppose they could blackball his agent or tell them play the one year out in NE if they do not get close to the 1yr franchise tender. If I was cassel I would tell the NFLPA to go f*ck themselves. I got to be honest, if I am a GM there is a real short list of qbs that I would be willing to throw 14 mill per year. That list starts & ends with P Manning/a healthy Tom Brady, & that list sure as hell does not have matt Cassel on it even though I think he is a little better then some people on this board are giving him credit for.
  5. I thought he was married to a super model? & what is the difference if he is gay or not. I am so sick of losing if he could win us some games I would not care if he dressed in a pink Tuttu & did swan lake across the ralph field turf before the games.
  6. Where your point & Ramius' points lose validity is I really can not remember a QB ever being franchised. Has it ever happened? If it has I apologize. This is a unique situation & when it is all said & done & if Cassel is traded I imagine you could take the Russell contract last year & add 15% onto to it. It will be a good contract but will not be the $14 mill ave that the franchise tender is, but really at the end of the day what can the union really do about it. I remember when TO signed with Philly, the NFLPA highly advised him against signing the contract, saying it was well below market value. He signed it anyways & they could not do a thing about it.
  7. Who said anything about franchising Greer? I do not think even the inner circle jerks are dumb enough to do that. Although I would not put it past them.
  8. That sounds like an awfull lot of work. Yeah I will take the wings & fries too.
  9. Well, if you knew Mike Tirico said it why did you say Al Michaels then?
  10. That is the thing, I would hate to see Trent fail here. I did not want to see Losman fail. But he did & that was pretty apparent to me early in the 07 season that this guy just does not get it. The book is still out on Edwards. Hopefully it works out. He needs to play better then he did last year.
  11. They are funny team to figure out. Last month I thought they were going to be a 3/4 seed. I knew they would lose some games in the big east just because outside of probably St Johns/Rutgers/Depaul there are really no guaranteed victories in this conference. Even St Johns sometimes plays tough at home. Right now I am looking at a very flawed team that if they do not get their business in order are going to be firmly on the Bubble come selection sunday. I agree with the previous poster, Devo is a liability out there. They should of left him suspended.
  12. Alright, then he said them. So what? Maybe he uses it as motivation. I questioned it because Michaels does not do the Monday night games & I was at both Monday night games so I did not get to hear the announcers on TV.
  13. Your one of the haters that Bill Talks about. Michaels never announce either of the Monday Night Football games that Trent appeared. So either you have a real bad short term memory or you have some stupid hidden agenda about Edwards & need to make up sh*t about him. My guess it is the latter.
  14. Kelly has said a number of times that the day he was drafted by the bills he cried. He liked Buffalo so much he decided to play in the USFL until that league folded. The point is he learned to love Buffalo, but in the beginning that was not the case.
  15. Kansas is a little underrated in the BIG 12. It is tough to tell with Oklahoma. The Big 12 is down this year.
  16. If Augustine would of stayed this year Texas would be contending for a NC. Instead, they are going to be fighting for their tournament lives in the next month.
  17. I would like to see Niagara make the tourney. But the facts are that the odds are stacked against them. Siena is loaded this year, I think they returned just about everybody from last years team that beat Vanderbilt in the 1st round. Plus the tourney os @ the Pepsi Center. Funny you mention you could hear crickets at the Koesler Center. Friday got home from work & turned on the Canisius/Fairfield game at the KC. It was on ESPNU. My wife was like, is there even anybody at the game? She said it was so quiet.
  18. If Cassel does sign a long term contract it is going to look something like this. 6yrs 70-75 mill with a 20 million signing bonus & $30-35 mill guaranteed so this whole post is kinda stupid. Just because everybody on this board thinks Cassel sucks & is overrated does not mean that some team is not going to throw a crazy contract at him.
  19. I will not try to backtrack, I would simply admit I was dead wrong. Would not be the first time. I still stand by my prediction that the guy will be out of the league in 2 years.
  20. My days of drinking cheap beer are over. When I was in college we used to go to the old Reagans by Buff St & they would have all you could drink for $5. They were serving schaeffers. We used to also drink Old Milwakee, god that stuff was horrible. Now I usually drink Amstel Light. I never did like a real heavy beer. Amstel has a nice taste & it does not fill you up. I also do not get hangovers from it which is key especially when you have a 4yr old getting up at 7 in the morning every day.
  21. Well, as you may remember I had it on Texas last year. That did not work out too good for me either.
  22. I take the 1st two days of the tournament off every year. The thursday I usually meet a couple of the guys up at wild wings for the afternoon games & then take it easy & watch the night games at home. Friday is the big day. I have a march Madness party. I have been doing this ever since I have been married & had my own house. This will be the 8th year. About 10 guys come over. Some come as early as 10:00 am, most stay the day, others pop in during the afternoon games & stay for the night games. We get a keg, everybody will bring a dip or something, I usually throw some burgers & sausage on the grill for the afternoon games & late for the night games I will throw some strip steaks on the grill. It truly is one of the best days of the year for me. My wife hates it & usually takes my credit card & goes on a shopping spree & usually sleeps over her parents house that night.
  23. Completely agree on Mizzou, they are my sleeper team in the tournament. As long as they do not totally sh*t the bed last nights win against Texas should cement their spot in the dance. They also have that coach that used to coach UAB. I think he is one of Nolan Richardson's old pupils. They play that uptempo 40 minutes of hell basketball that is going to create alot of matchup problems for teams in the tourney. I had wake last night, thought it was the lock of the night
  24. Same thing here, I have a credit line of $1000. I had to pay the man $1,200 about 1/2 thru college football season but since then I have my line up to $680. A few more good weeks & I am going to cash out. I do not trust the offshore sites either.
