  1. This trade does not make any sense. So we are trading Peters & our 11th pick to Philly, dropping down 10+ spots & all we are picking up is a late first rounder. Not even the inner jerks are dumb enough to do this are they? Your sources suck.
  2. I am starting to kind of think along these lines. I would not trade him unless Philly gave us both of the #1 draft picks. I would tell Peters/Parker that the deal on the table is 6yrs/56 mill with a $15 mill signing bonuse & 22-24 mill guaranteed & he has until training camp starts to sign it. After that, there will be no more negotiations & he will have to play his last 2 years of his contract. Keep in mind that there is probably going to be a lockout in 2011. If he wants to risk 3 years of his playing career to finally get his big payday, then he is dumber then I thought.
  3. Yeah & my guess is they probably have 20xs the expenses that all of Upstate have combined. Split the state up. I have been saying it for years. Our votes are meaningless in upstate NY. It is impossible for upstate to vote someone in that makes upstates needs a priority because there are not enough votes. Plus I read that 80% of the energy generated from Niagara Falls is sent to NYC. Why is it that even in the winter time I have a $100 bill for electricity. In the summertime with the pool going & the AC going sometimes it pushes $200. Why is that when we have one of the wonders of the world generating enough energy for everybody. Because it all gets shipped to that cess pool downstate. I do alot of work in NYC, & really see first hand the different ways of life & needs. NYC is too big & should be there own separate state.
  4. Well, off the top of my head I could remember Oregon St going to LSU a few years ago, USC going to Arkanasas & to Auburn. It is not just about the PAC 10 going to the SEC or vica versa. It is the fact that no SEC has the balls to play a tough out of conference schedule & do it on the road. Texas has had a home & home series with Ohio ST, USC wnet to maryland to play Virginia Tech, they setup a home & home with Ohio ST, Michigan has played home & homes in the past with Oregon & Colorado, Miami has played Washington in home & home series & so on. I am not saying I blame the SEC teams, but it seams like they dictate their games so they never have to play a tough road game out of conference.
  5. The Jacksonville game was blacked out too. By my count they have played 12 playoff games at the Ralph. 10 of them were sold out. The Houston game & the Jacksonville game were not. Look it up if you do not believe me.
  6. We do have the Lions in a preseason game. That is good because I think the NFL uses the preseason games as the 24th tiebreaker in determining playoff seedings.
  7. The facts are it is just alot of tickets to be sold in a short amount time. Unless you have a stadium that is filled with season ticket holders(Jets, Giants, Patriots, Steelers, Eagles, Green Bay, Dallas etc.....) you really going to have a tough time unloading that many tickets in a short period of time. The Jacksonville game was kinda looked on as the end of an era. If you remember the bills just squeeked into the playoffs by beating KC the week before. I really do not think people were that excited about the playoffs because the bills had many shortcomings. If it happened today, sure people would be willing to pay just about anything to host a home game in the wildcard round between 2 mediocre 9-7 teams, but back then the mindset was different. The super bowl years were recent & fans expectations were higher & yes looking back perhaps the fans were complacent & spoiled. I was in college when we played Jville. The thing I remember about that game was it was like the last week of December, but it was a really warm game. I think the high was like 55 that day. All my friends from high school were back from christmas break & we had like 30 people go up to the game. We got there really early & sat in the tunnel endzones. Man were we loaded that day. After the game we somehow made it up to that strip club right over the peace bridge. i dont think it is opened anymore. cant remember the name. My one friend was so drunk this stripper actually refused to give him a lap dance. Believe me, we still give my friend hell for that night, telling him he is the one guy in North America that can not even get a little action in a strip club. Finally made it home about 1 in the morning(after getting in the Ralph parking lot at 7:30). The next morning my dad asked me how the game was & what I thought about Kelly getting wheeled off the field. I asked him what the hell is he talking about?????
  8. Your way off base here. When the matchups were announced they would usually have to sell about 30 thousand or so tickets within 7 days or so. Check most other cities in the playoffs, especially the wildcard rounds, the deadlines usually have to be extended because that is alot of tickets to unload in such a short amount of time. By my calculations, the bills from 88-96 played 12 playoff games & only 2 were blacked out(houston & jacksonville), both still drawing over 70K people for each game(remember the Ralph's seating capacity was over 80K back then). That is pretty impressive. The bottomline come playoff time, because of the short time frame teams have to unload the tickets, unless you have a season ticket base that takes up the 80-90% of your stadium capacity, your going to have a tough time getting the game on tv without having the blackout extended. I believe both SD, Minn, Miami & Arizona need the blackouts extended last year.
  9. Yeah, the celtics game was a nice hit for me last night. I usually do not play NBA but I have been playing on it the last 3 weeks or so. Been doing really well. Garnett was out last night but Oklahoma is probably the worst team in the league. Giving up 11 I thought was a good play. Early line on Carolina is -7. I can not see Villanova keeping it within 10. i really think it is a bad matchup for them. Uconn is -4 right now. Not sure which way I am going on that one. Leaning towards the huskies. Will be a home crowd for MSU but being played in Ford Field & having the fans so far away is going to negate most of that advantage. I really think the NCAA has to reconsider their position on having these games in football venues. I know they want to pack in the most fans as possible, but it really takes away from the atmosphere. Especially for the regionals. The atmosphere at the west regional out in Arizona was a joke.
  10. Had Uconn yesterday, which was kind of a lucky cover since that guy missed the open layup at the end of regulation. Took Pitt so i was 1-1 in the college. Went 3-0 in the NBA last night. Today, had the over in the mich st/ville game. Did not come close to covering. Told myself all morning I was going with the under & then changed my mind at the last minute. Stayed away from the unc/ou game since I felt I was not looking at it with an unbiased opinion. I really can not see anybody beating UNC. Maybe Uconn. I dont know. Carolina really has no weaknesses. They got 4 guys where they could go to anytime when they need a bucket(Lawson, ellington, green & Hansborough). Got the celtics in a pretty big play tonight -11 over Oklahoma City.
  11. Thanks for the advice jerkoff. I will tell you what, when I can not pay my mortgage & my wife kicks me out of the house(which maybe any day now) I will give you a call.
  12. Took your advice, threw $200 on a parley with the vill & the over. Easiest, no stress cover I have ever had. Got oklahoma & the un der in the other game. OU looks solid under may come in too. Got unc & mich st, in the later games. T hinking of changing & riding your coattails with ku. Hope your winning..
  13. Good night last night also, only loss was Duke, & once again 1st 5-8 minutes of the game I knew I was screwed. You called it, Villanova was just too quick for Duke. I should of known better, biggest mismatch of last nights games. Villanova is going to give Pitt all they could handle, that should be a pickem. Not sure which way I will go on that one. Pitt does not win pretty or impressive, but it always seems like they have the chops to pull it out. Hammered Uconn last night, thought that was the easiest play of the night. Had Xavier +7 & had the under on that, had Missouri & the over also. I also played Columbus over Calagary in the NHL last night. I never bet hockey but Clagary was on it's 3rd game in 4 nights. Moneyline was -130. Both teams are pretty even with Calagary probably a little better. Cbus won 5-0. Should of put a grand on it. LOL. Tonight I like UNC & I also like the over. I read today that the Zags are going to try to run with the Heels. Big mistake imo. I could see UNC putting up hundo spot tonight. Like Oklahoma, but as I stated earlier my vision maybe clouded on that one. I like the vill/arizona game to go over & for some reason I like Arizona. I know zona has underachieved all year but I can not get past the fact that they probably have the best three players on the court in Hill, Buddinger & Wise. I will take the +9. if they could keep the turnovers to minimum(which is a big if) they are going to beat them outright. This is not your normal 12 seed. I am leaning towards Michigan St, but not crazy on either side. may just play the under. Izzo is going to want to really grind this game out.
  14. If Cuse & Ville win tonight they will have 5 of the 8 teams left. That is unreal. I have a feeling Cuse is going to lose tonight though. Ville should handle Arizona.
  15. The only way I trade Peters is if Philly would offer us both their 1st round picks. For those that are saying noway is peters worth that much nobody really knows. I say nobody knows because Franchise Left Tackles going into the prime of their career & have 2 years left on a very management friendly contract never become available. Whether you think Peters is a franchise left tackle is besides the point. My guess is that is how he is viewed around the league. Then with the 11th pick I would take the best tackle on the board & with one of Philly's picks I would take the best guard/center on the board. We would still have another 1st rnd pick to go defense. If they are going to keep him though, they need to pay him the money. We do not need any distractions this summer.
  16. Sorry, I misunderstood you. & yes, I think kiffin is in for a rude awakening this fall.
  17. Okay, not to start a who is better conference debate because the SEC has current bragging rights, but Florida or Alabama has the balls to go out to Eugene or Corvallis or Berkley or LA to play one of these teams I do not want to hear it from you SEC guys. A good Tenn team went out to Berkley a few years ago & got smacked up & down the field by Cal. I would love to go see Florida go up to Eugene this year & see how they do against a good Oregon team. It will never happen though. Florida will never leave the confines of the Southeast. Neither will Alabama. Cant say I blame them.
  18. For teams not to even take a flier on this guy in the 6th or 7th round was unbelievable. Sometimes I wonder what these GMs & scouts are getting paid for.
  19. Your wrong about that. If you watched college football you would of known who Jason Peters was. I was absolutely amazed that noone drafted this kid coming out of Arkansas. The upside on him seemed so obvious. Do yourself a favor, if it ever comes on again, ESPN Classic every once in awhile will play the Arkansas/Kentucky game 03 that went to 7 overtimes. JP was a man among boys that day. I think he had 3 or 4 td catches. Once interesting side note to that game. George Wilson had 200 yards receiving & 1 td also for the hogs.
  20. I was going to say the same thing. Does not take a rocket scientist to figure out it was the boys that she took in, or at least a member of their family. I am sure eventually the police will find enough evidence to arrest them. Sorry about your aunt.
  21. I will second this notion. Bought a nice house 3 years ago. When the home inspector was doing the inspection I noticed there was a part on the one side of the roof that the shingles were curling a little. I asked him about & said can you writeup in your report that he recommends that the house needs a new roof. Fuggin a**hole inspector says" ah dont worry, it just a little curling, I would not be concerned about it". Well a mere 2 years later, you guessed it, I had to pay for a new roof. 2 of my friends did it so they got everything for me at cost so it was not super expensive, but it still cost about 4 grand. Burns my a**. When you pay over $200K in the WNY market for a house(I know in some markets that kind of money only gets you a shack, but in WNY it gets you a decent house) I did not expect to drop 4 grand on a roof so early. If there is anything wrong with the roof that you notice, make sure he puts it into the report.
  22. If Duke is making there threes, they will beat Villanova. The cats do create some matchup problems. Cinningham was excellent against the bruins & Reynolds should have way with whoever guards him. Something about this duke team where I think they are clicking at the right time. I like UConn. That Kansas/Mich St. Mich St beat them pretty good already this year, but I think KU is playing much better now. Played a few NIT games last night. Took Kentucky + 2 over Creighton & I loved St Marys over Davidson -4.
  23. The buffalo news. Knew it was too good to be true. Just went on yahoo & most of the sites have it @ -9. I am starting to lean towards Duke. I dont know. I like Kansas, I like Uconn, I like Oklahoma. If your going to take kansas , makes sense doing the money line since they are only getting 1-2pts.
  24. Why would you not be happy with this? We got to play them sometime, might as well be the first game of the season before Brady gets a chance to get comfortable & light us up like he usually does. & besides, if this is true & I could get my hand on some individual seats for this game, scalping them would probably cover 75% of the cost of my season tickets.
  25. Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope your doing alright. Give you an update, cleaned the board on thursday. After going 5-3 in the early games went 9-0 in the night games. It was one of those wierd days where everything seem so clear. Had Michigan, VCU, under on the VCU/UCLA game, Wash, under on the wash game. Anyways wonm about $500 thursday. Friday & saturday was a different story. Lost $200 on friday & another $215 on saturday. Made some real dumb bets on saturday. Took Maryland over memphis & A&M over Uconn. Watching the first 5 minutes of both games, I knew they were both losers. I really liked 2 games that day. Should of pounded them & laid off the other picks. Loved Villanova over UCLA & WKY over the zags. Sunday was a new day. Did pretty well but it could of been so much better. Had $50 on Syracuse, the over on the cuse game, Arizona, Kansas, over on the Pitt & the under on the wisky game. The only loser I had was Pitt- had them at 8.5, guy misses a the front end of double bonus. makes them boith & I win that. I also took wisconsin. I am up about $140 going into the afternoon games. I said screw it & I put $100 on Siena + 11.5 & Mich St -4. Win both those. My big play though was $200 on Marquette. Win that & I had an all around successfull weekend. You guessed it, had it at 3.5. Marquette should of won that game. All I need is the guy to do at the end was inbound the god dam pass without stepping over the fuggin line & I win that game. They fouled a 62% foul shooter & of course he sinks them both. I had a tough time sleeping last night over that one. I was trying to explain it to my wife the heartache of the end of that game, but my wife being kinda moody to start with being 7 months pregnant & seeing me basically go on a 4 day drinking bender doing nothing but watching 16 hours of college basketball for 4 straight days she really was not in the mood to offer up any kind of sympathy. Oh well. We will try to hit them again this weekend. Really like Ville over Arizona, early line is -1 & it kills me to do this but I think I have to root for Oklahoma over my almamater SU for in my household money talks before your allegiences to sports teams.
