  1. I remember that year fondly. I parlayed the Rams & their over 12 weeks in a row & won on 11 of them. The only time I did not win on them was I think in week 5 when they lost to tenn I think it was something like 24-21. Vegas had no clue how to handicapp the Rams that year. It was easy money.& you are right, alot of the games they were up by 2-3 scores before the 1st quarter was even over.
  2. I love this kind of talk. We get, the bills even though their record the last 3 years has been average are the slime of the league & the bears(who did not make the playoffs last year either) are assured a 1st place finish. Every other team is light years ahead of the bills. Go root for the Dolphins moron.
  3. If this is true, then Losman & his agent must be the 2 dumbest mother f*ckers on the face of this earth.
  4. Why do you think any team is going to give him a legit spot to compete? If that was the case they would have signed him by now. If teams were really interested in giving JP a shot at playing time, they would want him in there ASAP so he could start to learn the playbook. Most rosters are set at the qb position right now. He may get a chance but it is only going to be as an emergency backup plan if a qb gets injured during Training Camp/preseason. Even then it would be a long shot(since it would probably take time to learn the playbook; he could not learn the playbook in 5yrs in buffalo) that he would only be the #2 qb anyways.
  5. I do not believe this guy has insider knowledge but from what I have seen this offseason, I think it is pretty clear that there is very little(if any) interest in him from teams around the league & that there is a real possibility that Jets game may have been the last game Losman will have played in. Back after the Arizona game, I posted some thoughts by Paul Hamilton. hamilton said after the game that he did not want to soound like a wise guy but the best thing for Losman's chances of hooking up with another team next year is if he does not take another snap for the rest of the year. I said that Hamilton hit the nail on the head with that comment. As usual I got the typical responses from the group of Losomaniacs labeling me as a hater, & Hamilton should stick to hockey & yada, yada, yada. Well this offseason has gone exactly the way I expected it to. Has anybody even brought Losman in for a visit? The only way I see him on a NFL roster this season if some teams have a real rash of injuries at the QB position. I wonder if the Senator is still holding onto his distrubing fantasy that the Jets are going to sign him up.
  6. Although I will agree with you that it is pretty dumb to think that the NFL would ever consider Buffalo for a super bowl, given the logistics & such, but I will have you know that since Feb 1st, you know how many inches of snow have fallen in the Buffalo area this year? Try 7 inches. Traditionally, most of our snowfall usually comes in late Dec/early to mid January when the lake is wide open. In fact, I have been golfing since mid march here this year. Already have 13 rounds in.
  7. When I was in college & me & all my friends I went to high school with would be back home for the summer we would go up to Clifton Hill every saturday night. We would usually get about 10-15 guys. If memory serves me correctly we went to Rumors alot. My friends parents had a cottage at Crystal Beach & we usually just crashed there. Alot of times when his parents were there we would get back there around 2-2:30 in the morning & we would be so drunk his parents would kick us out & we would just end up passing out on the beach. When the sun rose it would usually wake us up & we would get in our cars & go home. Those were some good times.
  8. I could be wrong but I have to believe if a Golden Retriever attacked a 3yr old boy & put them in the hospital the media would report it. These are not only violent dogs but they pure muscle & their jaws are extremely strong. Nothing good could come of having little children around them.
  9. Sorry, got to disagree. There is just no sense owning a dog like this when you have little kids. I know, I know, it is all how they are raised. The bottom line is these are fighting dogs & as incidents in the past have shown they could snap & go into attack mode in an instance. My one friend had a pitbull, claimed it was a great dog, had no problems with it. I brought my dog over there one time(pomeranian). he was on a leash I just looked at him & I could see in his eyes he was trying to eye her up & looking for a moment to attack her. That day I told my friend even though nothing happened I will never bring my dog or my son over to his house again as long as has a pitbull for a pet. Oh yeah, 2 weeks later, the dog broke lose from his leash & nearly killed his neighbors black lab. They had to put it down. BTW, for you defenders of pitbulls, why is it that you never hear of a golden retriever attacking a little kid?
  10. Sorry, but teams have started to run ota's. If you do not think teams think it is important to have their qbs signed now & in camp, I do not know what to say to that. Losman may get signed but my guess it is only going to be a if a qb gets hurt in camp.
  11. This is exactly how I feel. over the past few years I have kind of soured on the NFL. With the new stadiums, the wine & cheese crowds, the favortism by the refs for big market teams, the constant threat of the bills moving & of course the bills not sniffing the playoffs for 10 years has rubbed me the wrong way. I still like the NFL & have season tickets & watch as much as I can, but I love college football. Anybody that says the pro game is more exciting I think really does not have a clue. Watch a game down in the south like at Auburn/LSU/Florida St/Florida on a saturday night. The atmosphere is off the hook. Take the time & watch a late night Pac 10 game out Eugene or Corvallis, Oregon & you will see what the college football atmosphere is all about. I agree they need a playoff & I think that day is coming. I already outlined in a past post what they should do. Have every conference play a championship game. The winner of each conference gets an auto bid to the playoff(11 teams). Then have 5 wildcards(best BCS rated teams of the remaining non conference winners). By doing this if a team argues they should be in the playoffs, the NCAA could just say you should of won your conference. The first round games will be played in early december att on campus sites. The teams will be seeded according to their BCS ranking with one caveet, the wildcard teams must be on the road for the opening round. This will setup some unbelievable atmospheres where a Boise ST could be hosting a Texas or a MAC school like Ball St could host a team like Penn ST. After the 1st round you have 8 teams left & those games will be played on New years day at the BCS bowls(Sugar/Fiesta/Orange/Rose). The semifinals & the finals will be played the following weeks & the season should be done by mid hjanuary. The BCS bowls could alternate who gets the semifinals & the finals each year kinda like they do in the championship now. The rest of the bowl system could remain intact. You may say that doing this would make the 2nd tier(non bcs bowls irrelevant) but lets face it they are pretty irrelevant now anyways. One more thing, put a rule in there that if Notre Dame(or any independant for that matter is in the top 16 of the BCS they automatically get a spot in the playoff.
  12. How do you make the brisket? I kinda want to make it for my annual summer party this year but never did it before.
  13. Okay, maybe not their number 1 cash cow, but the markup on the extended were unreal. The floor plans for the new dealerships I did as surprising as it maybe, there was not a big profit margin on the sale of new cars. Selling the extended warranty was pure profit & IMO one of the biggest scams the dealerships have going.
  14. When I first started at the bank 11 years ago I used to do alot of work with car dealer floor plans & I could tell you this, there number 1 cash cow at a dealership is the extended warranties. They are usually set @ a 200% mark up & they make a ton of profit off of them. In other word, in probably 95% of the cases they are not worth it.
  15. With this comment, your diehard bills fan card just got taken away.
  16. Sorry buddy, but when a guy is convicted of killing dogs by electrocuting & having them drowned & are raising dogs for the sole purpose of fighting them & eventually killing them, I put him in the category of scum of the earth. I would seriously drop my season tickets if they ever signed him. I do not care what neighborhood he grew up in, what color he is or what his mother gave him for lunch when he was a kid. The guy will always be a jerk in my book.
  17. If she lives in Lancaster Darien Lake is only about a 15 minute drive. I agree working there sucks. I worked there one day when I was home from college for the summer . One day was enough, I never went back. I still cringe when I take my son there.
  18. I thought the article was kind of funny. I mean come on, people waiting up on a sunday night to see TO come in. A grown man dressed up in a popcorn box. The one guy saying this is the best thing that has happened to buffalo since the invention of the chicken wing. Even Owens said he had no idea why he was getting the key to the city. It is a little over the top & it really does make us look like a city full of losers. Maybe we deserve to get mocked out after pulling crap like this. Like someone in a previous post said, "act like you have been there before".
  19. The one time when we were in high school we were drinking over my friends house & they had some call in show & Lindy Ruff was on(that was when he was a player). My friend called in & said " Lindy I just want to know why the Sabres & most of all you suck at playing hockey" He did not know how to respond & the host said, "it looks like we have a couple wise guys on the phone this afternoon" & hung up.
  20. Some of those prank calls were the best. One time I remember listening after a sabres game a guy called in , said he had way to much to drink at the game & crashed into a snow bank on the corner of Walden & Harlem. Said he had some time to kill so he walked to the pay phone on the corner & decided to call Artie Baby Boo Boo. Wander replied "well I am sure the cheektowaga police will be by any minute to pick you up" & hung up on him.
  21. You pick who is better by who liked the city more & where they lived? Man, our standards for qb play have dropped since the kelly days.
  22. That is a little bit of a flawed statement. Although he did get beaten out by Lorenzen for the 3rd, he was at the tailend of his career & was coming off of shoulder surgery. With that being said, after being cut by the bills, Johnson got a 2nd chance(tampa), a 3rd chance(washington) & a 4th chance with the Giants. As everyday goes by getting closer to training camp, it looks more & more likely that Losman is not even going to get that 2nd chance.
  23. It was not that NFC was a better conference from top to bottom, I think the AFC was actually better if you look at it that way. It was that from the mid 80's until Denver beat Green Bay in the super bowl in 97/98? that the NFC seemed like year in & year out they pumped out one extremely talented dominant team. From the 85 bears/86 Giants/late 80's 49er teams/92 redskins/93-94 Cowboys to Favre's 96 Packers. The super bowl to be had was obviously the Giants. If the Giants & the Bills played 10 times on a neutral field, my guess is the bills would of won at least 8 of them. They were outcoached & if you look at that game about 10 things during the course of the game needed to go right in order for the giants to win. If even one of the bounces did not go their way, they probably lose. The other Sbs, we were really outmanned. I know it was only one year, but that skins team was tough. I think Rypien was only sacked 8 times the whole year. The cowboys teams are probably going to down as one of the top 5 teams of all time.
  24. I have taken some heat on this board from time to time calling Losman a poor man's Rob Johnson, but that is exactly what he was. IMO, he did not have 1/2 the ability RJ did, whether it was scrambling or throwing. This idea that Losman has some cannon attached to his arm is more myth then fact. I just do not see it. With that being said they were both pretty bad. I will give the nod to Losman in one area. I think he actually enjoys playing the game. I always got the feeling with RJ that there was about 50 other things he would rather be doing on Sunday afternoons then playing football. I remember reading a story his first year here. It was when they started out 0-3 & then won 3 games in a row(including that last 2nd win against jville). Miami came into town & Flute & Moulds had a big 2nd half to come from behind & win the game.(still the loudest I have ever heard a crowd, in fact Jimmie Johnson said that was the loudest he ever heard any stadium - college or pro). Anyways there was a story after the game that Flutes brother & some of his friends came up for the game & after the game they were playing football in the stadium for hours after. Johnson saw this & a shouted to flutie, dont you ever get enough. & flutie basically told him that playing football is the most fun he has in life. Johnson's reply was " I cant remember the last time football was fun for me" as he left the stadium.
