  1. Anyone who's been to a lot of games at Rich Stadium (hate naming it fter Wilson) has seen bad things going on. Sad but true. Have to agree with the comment that the article sounds like it was written by a sleazy lawyer.
  2. So people actually believe that this is the reason Mularkey resigned? I honestly believed that it was because he didn't get a ringing endorsement from the front office or that he saw how shorn of talent the team was and realized that he'd better get out while he still had some kind of a rep in the league. I can't imagine the fans in Miami are being nice to him either.
  3. Wow! Glad I read that, could have been a press release from the P.R. department.
  4. Amen to that. (Sadly)
  5. If poor JP has never had any of these advantages, why is he in the NFL? This isn't a charity where we can say "the poor kid, he's overcome so much etc.." And people can laugh at what I wrote about Eli Manning's presence. It was apparent to this viewer and you can see how he has developed. I remember hearing similar comments about Rob johnson - "his line isn't strong enough", the coaching staff isn't nurturing him properly and on and on. But you could see that he was never going to be good. I WANT the kid to succeed. But I just don't think it's going to happen.
  6. The Bradshaw comparison is ridiculous. Look back 30+ years in the NFL. Obviously, it was a completely different game. Ever seen Namath's stats? Stabler's? Unitas'? According to this strand of logic, Kurt Warner is a better QB than Fran Tarkenton.
  7. Trust your eyes, stats can be twisted in a million ways. Does he look like he's a good Quarterback? Does he show any of the required skills? I saw a few of Manning's early games. He's stas were brutal, but he had presence and strength.
  8. But I believe part of the point was that you can tell a good QB by watching. Ever see Elway's stats? He had a lot of seasons with stats that didn't look great. But he was never worse than top 5 for his entire career. Any smart fan could tell this. It's starting to smell like Rob Johnson part 2 around here. Everyone gets so touchy if someone criticizes a player that they have committed themselves to defending. My attitude is that JP has to play the rest of the season so we can see if he has what it takes. I have yet to see much from him, but let's finish off 2006.
  9. He should see about lacing up his boots then.
  10. So true, but that's the nature of being a fan. This team has abused our patience for a long time now. We have all seen what it takes to build a winner. We have all enjoyed the good years and are suffering through a miserable stretch with little real imporvement in sight. We have the right to call it like we see it. Rebuilding year or not, this team is bad. Some hope at a few positions, but they have been playing lifeless, undisciplined and lousy football. Why sugar coat it? These are professional athletes playing for a team we love. They are not our children. We don't have to encourage 30 year old offensive linemen.
  11. Think they're missing him in Chicago?
  12. Mr Finkle's nephew really does watch football like a 6 year old. That was a blatant penalty and the only reason for thinking otherwise is that the poor boy needs glasses or was sampling some of his Uncle's Budweiser. Honestly... the veteran "leaders" of this crappy defense both committed a sub-moronic penalty. Don't shoot the messenger for pointing it out.
  13. Considering that most of us knew this wasn't a playoff season, I have to agree with you. But your opening statement makes me feel that you are a VERY optimistic person. Honestly, it's a WIN/LOSE/LOSE BIG scenario... 1) He turns out to be a good QB 2) He continues to suck and the Bills now have to draft another QB of the future, thus putting them 3 more years away from contention 3) We have to keep listening to that idiot who's on with Howard Simon on WGR getting defensive about Losman. That guy reminds me of Chuck Dickerson when he used to yell at people who dared to criticize Rob Johnson. Great football minds seem to grow like spores over at WGR...
  14. Only thing is, Losman is from the Draft class of 2004.
  15. I also was in the "wait and see" group... but I have waited and seen. All good young QBs showed SOMETHING by their 15th start. The O-Line is heinous, so that is an excuse, but the kid seems to lack the toughness and leadership that I'd have hoped to see. The worst part is that the team is stuck. They committed to JP and now if they ditch him and draft another QB, BANG! We have another couple years to wait for our QB to mature. Donahoe really screwed this one up.
