Brutal in the sense that his production dropped by nearly 300 yards while starting more games....had a game or two with under 50 yards. Blount's regression, IMO, helped lead to Freeman's regression in the sense he had a very poor run game to lean on .
-
Did you watch LeGarrette Blount at all this season? He was absolutely BRUTAL. They need a real RB. I mean, they definitely need a CB. If I were their GM, that would be my move. But I could see why Richardson would be considered.

I think the real question is between Barnett and Sheppard. Who plays OLB and who plays MLB? Then who plays Will or Sam? IMO, Barnett is a better fit at Will, Sheppard at Sam, but he may not have the athleticism to cover TE's. Not to mention Kelsay is the only 4-3 DE on the roster.....
-
He's gonna shoot back up the boards at the combine IMO. He suffered from inconsistent QB play under Garcia, and then when Shaw came in, Lattimore went out which meant defenses were keying on Jeffery first and foremost as he was the only real weapon left. He's 6'5 230 and very physical, and I think when he cuts weight as athletes do precombine you will see more of the separation necessary. Taylor should be coming out this year, along with Ingram on the D-line. Clowney will be a likely top 10 pick.....in the 2014 draft. Had a stud season for a true freshman, and a real pleasure to watch as a SC fan, that's for sure.

Its a reference from Get Him to the Greek. That being said, if the top 4-3 DE is off the board and so are RG3, Luck and Jones....why not make the offense even more dynamic instead of reaching for a lesser talent? A big WR like Alshon Jeffery across from Stevie with Nelson, Jones, Smith, etc. would be pretty tough to stop.

Does Gronk make Troup the worst Bills 2nd rounder
JM57 replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although it wasn't on here, I was at a concert in Buffalo that night if I recall correctly, sign me up in the group talking about Clausen. And Gronkowski. But not Cody. Thought he was too large to succeed -
If Jeffrey or Floyd are the BPA over any reach of a defensive guy, then I say do it. I'm a SC fan myself, and I can definitively say Jeffrey is going to be a beast in the pros, especially if he cuts 5-8 lbs pre combine. He is huge, fast, physical, runs pretty good routes, and most importantly, after all his time playing with Stephen Garcia at QB, CAN ADJUST TO POORLY THROWN BALLS. This is obviously predicated on resigning Stevie as well as assuming Marcus Easley's heart condition is permanent, not an infection or something else temporary. But even with Fitz under center, I know he has his haters, an offense with Stevie and Jeffrey outside, with Nelson working from the slot could be downright dominant. That also slots a Donald Jones in a more fitting role, as the 4th WR, and Brad Smith/Naaman Roosevelt as 5 or 6. Everyone is back where they belong.
-
Seriously? Fitz is ONE YEAR OLDER than Weeden. Do your homework.

And they now have new coaches and a new program and fewer preventable injuries than skeletor era. But still no depth and that is the realproblem

....do you know anyone capable of preventing broken bones (Jones, Parrish) or torn tendons and ligaments (Wood, McGee, Chris White, Torbor)? What about guys that can prevent bone spurs aggravating the Achilles or just Achilles injuries in general (Merriman, K. Williams)? How about someone who can prevent heart ailments (Easley)? Just saying. It's not like these guys are going on IR with muscle tears. There is literally no way to prevent broken bones, torn ligaments and tendons in a game as violent as this. What do you suggest? Telling them to drink more milk?

There's no doubt in my mind Keenum can sling the ball with the best of them. And he has produced for years. As did Detmer, Chang, Brennan and Harrell. When you play in that style of offense and throw 50 times a game, its bound to lead to a lot of yards for the QB as long as they are competent. I also agree with the C-USA comment. He may end up being a good backup or something, as I think he's still a pretty good QB. But I'm not sure he's first round material at all.
-
Case Keenum, please meet Ty Detmer, Timmy Chang, Graham Harrell and Colt Brennan. What do they have in common? NCAA all-time top 5 in passing yards, NOTHING of substance in the NFL.

I don't usually do this, but here we go. 1) Torell Troup. This guy is a turd. An absolute waste of a draft pick, and yeah yeah we got Chandler but Gronkowski went one pick after our #96 and even if the Patriots system makes him look all league, I can guarantee you Gronk would still be a better TE that Troup is a DT. 1b) Kellen Heard can go too, I know he's just the third NT but some of the things he does out there make him look like UFL camp fodder. I don't care how tall he is, he gets pushed around like Marcus Stroud did last year. One giant blocking sled. 2) 4-3 DEFENSE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. I don't like Kelsay, but I would rather see a D line of Kelsay-Dareus-Williams-(insert player here) instead of a LB corps that includes Danny Batten and Arthur Moats. They both have their strengths, but they have glaring weaknesses as well 3) That being said, if you're going to stick with the 3-4 you had best focus on getting a replacement for Kelsay at LOLB and Merriman at ROLB. Draft, free agency, I don't care. Find the best guys available at each and pay them as much as it takes to get them in red white and blue. 4) Sorry guys, Donald Jones is not a #2 receiver. How many passes has he tipped for interceptions now this season? How many big drops? He catches with the chestplate of his shoulder pads, not his hands. That's why he was undrafted. 5) Did Leodis and McGee switch jerseys on that opening drive? McGee couldn't have played the pass to Holley any worse, and McKelvin couldn't have played that TD ball to Bryant much better. 6) Just sayin....Dez Bryant or CJ Spiller? I have to ask, if you're not going to use the kid, why pick him? 7) I have no hatred for the drop Spiller had on the deep ball. He looked like a weeble wobble running down the field, that would have been one hell of a catch to make. 8) Sorry Phil Simms, but on that 4th and 2 play, I'm forcing the ball to a marginally open Stevie Johnson for 4 yards before stabbing for the end zone and a completely unopen Donald Jones. 9) Late in the game, Muprh asked Kelso if there was a book out on how to stop the Bills O, so to speak. I was headed into work so I didn't hear the answer, but its pretty obvious how to stop them now. Score early and often and force the Bills to pass. Less Freddie = less chance to win. They have to run to open up the pass.

False, Sean Lee played today and they threw because they were down multiple scores, you boob. Don't talk football strategy if you don't understand it

I'm not sure what you've been watching but the game ended a good two hours ago....

Lindell busted up; Rayner signed

Who has the better kickoff leg? let us not forget how good the red zone offense has been this year. Extra points and kickoffs have been far more plentiful than long field goals..maybe that was the kicker terrible pun intended -
What did you think man? I'm not positive off the top of my head where 131 is but its general knowledge that the endzones and Rockpile/the cheapest seats in the house are drunk kid central. I mean, I'm 23 and me and my friends were pretty sloshed (someone brought Crown...if it was just beer we would have been much better off) but we left our harassment to adult Jets fans only (like the guy wearing a Hayes #1 jersey)...and when a young kid and his dad came in about midway through the first quarter (it was his first game), we made sure to keep profanity to a minimum. Its definitely an adult atmosphere and it always will be. You can't change that. 75000 people in that place, probably 60000 of them adults. You can't just tell someone they can or can't say certain words or phrases when they're a paying customer. Its not like smoking, it has no negative health effects on non cursing fans...

Legitimately though, is there something wrong with Shayne Graham that he doesn't have a job in the league right now? He would be my first choice, followed by Dave Rayner because you know he's actually prepared to kick after his moonlighting stint with Oakland -
Tim Graham: Ryan to make Maybin a captain for Bills game
JM57 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was wood -
Without that big run they averaged a pedestrian three yards per carry on the ground and iirc Freddy had less than 20 yards in the second half on six or seven carries.

Can't believe people are criticizing this call. It shows that fans here at TBD have a very hard time separating their emotions from football logic. Stevie had a TD on the exact same play. Unfortunately, Fitz ended up being 3 for 3 on this play..two of them to Corey Webster. Johnson beat Webster off the line all 3 times, and if Fitz threw it right, chances are he would have had a 3 TD game. This one is ALL on Fitz. Great playcall, terrible execution by #14
-
Well I was pretty darn close with that wasn't I?
-
The key to this game remains the same. Without forcing turnovers the Bills will not win
-
I was just suggesting it's a possibility that any player may receive a verbal warning about bad hits before being fined and we would never know
-
Young player, first real action. Probably got a warning and was told fine will be X amount if it happens again.
