  1. The Bengals schedule is almost as easy as Buffalo's down the stretch? LOLWUTTTTT Their next 3 games should all be wins: KC, OAK, SD. I will call Dallas a toss up but I lean toward Cinci with it being a December outdoors game, and Philly a likely win, but I don't see them winning 6 in a row either so one of the NFC east games could be a loss. Pittsburgh and Baltimore down the stretch is tough, could be another 2 losses. At 4-5 that puts them at 9-7 at best. Same as where I think the Colts could likely end up. But those are the only 2 teams between Buffalo and a playoff spot I worry about. I don't think the Jets, Raiders, Chargers, or Titans are any more capable of a 6-1 or 5-2 stretch than our collection of bungling idiots due to their own problems. Lump the Dolphins in there too because with 2 games left against the Pats and 1 against the 49ers....there's 3 more losses for them (8 total). Out of this whole group, if ANY team has a favorable schedule comparable to Buffalo, it is the Jets.
  2. Indy going 9-7 or 8-8 is plausible if you assume they lose to NE, Houston twice and Detroit at Ford Field. That's 7 losses right there, a loss to Buffalo would be 8. The question though, is whether Buffalo is capable of pulling off 6 wins in 7 games (or 5 wins as long as the 2nd loss isn't to the Colts) which would be needed to at least tie with the Colts at 9-7 or 8-8....where I would assume Buffalo would have the tiebreaker.
  3. He had around 150 against the Pats didn't he? With the limited touches and all?
  4. I would say QB, OLB, ILB and SS are the biggest DRAFT needs. I would prefer the Bills to pick up a veteran WR if deemed necessary (although I like the progress of Jones this season and Graham has shown the ability to get open deep if we only had a QB to hit those throws) and veteran CB to pair with Gilmore as we have seen that CB's and WRs have a 2-3 year learning curve. That being said, many LBs also take some time to develop too so there's still a chance that Bradham AND Sheppard start to "get it" the more snaps they play. But I am now holding my breath on that. Also Wilson needs to GO. Its the end of the line for him at SS he has been terrible.
  5. Ignorance on the Interwebs eh? Consider me surprised! I jest of course. JW, keep doing what you do. I appreciate the honesty you bring to your posts here where the mongoloids on this board have scared quite a few worthy posters away. I like that you acknowledge criticism as part of the job and realize that we all will have differing opinions on the columnists we "have" (since its only a one paper town and some of us like to read a newspaper) to deal with on a daily basis
  6. Joe Buscaglia is that you
  7. This ref crew can all FOAD. Seriously, could they make it any more obvious they're on the take?
  8. Urbik and Stevie both said they were playing when speaking with the media. Deep breath
  9. No, their defense did.
  10. Yes they totally should have taken Wilson at #72 or whatever the pick they took Graham with was. Because everyone totally expected Wilson to go in the 3rd round even though almost every big board and projection out there had him listed OUTSIDE the Top 100, therefore making the general consensus on him as a 4th round pick. Fact is, Seattle jumped on him 1 round earlier than anyone expected, which makes it a whole lot easier to cry about it now.
  11. I would say Routt is a real possibility to at least come in for a workout. IIRC he was already in town before he elected to sign in KC and maybe now his price is a little more reasonable after flopping there and getting 5.3 guaranteed from them (a la Drayton Florence post Jacksonville). They definitely need some CB depth and it would be nice to have a vet in there since the 4 remaining active CBs have about 7 years experience, most of them from McLovin. As far as the other roster spot...maybe a veteran OT? They don't have any backup there now with Pears joining Zebrie Sanders on IR, correct?
  12. Stalking all the QB related threads, I have seen a ton of discussion on Barkley, Smith, and the SEC group of Wilson, Bray, Murray and McCarron. Here and there you see EJ Manuel brought up as well. One name I don't often see mentioned is that of Glennon from NC State. Just curious what TBDers who have seen him play think? Obviously he is on a less talent team than all the above mentioned QBs.
  13. Sure pal, whatever you say. It was over 8 hrs ago now but if I recall correctly Kelsay just made a read and peeled off his rush and followed Casey. Whether that was designed or not...couldn't tell you, I don't know the playbook. Perhaps it was just a 10+ year vet knowing that guy was about to be open and giving it the old college try
  14. I normally agree with you but...let's start with #2, shall we? Gilmore sucked? Why, because Andre Johnson had 8 catches for 118? Let's examine how much of that was done BEFORE the Williams injury. Because right up until Williams got hurt, every time I saw #80 making a catch, #23 was following him. I count 4 catches before the injury and 4 after. Roughly 4 for 50 for Johnson after Gilmore started covering him, but Gilmore spent the majority of the game (inexplicably I might add) covering Kevin Walter. How many catches did he have? 2? As far as #6, I give him the benefit of the doubt today. I doubt he was 100% since it wasn't a sure thing he was playing up until the last couple of days. Perhaps if Pears wasn't hurt, he wouldn't have been back today. That being said, I think the line that was out there today, with Glenn at LT and Hairston at RT, is probably the best 5 they have. #7...yeah, Kelsay in coverage sucks. I'm assuming that you're talking about on the James Casey 25 yard catch though. I mean, Dan Fouts was babbling about Kelsay covering "a tight end" on the play, but Casey more often than not lines up as a FB. A DE covering a FB isn't crazy or unacceptable schematically. Wannstedt just should have had something else drawn up for a player like Casey who isn't a true FB. I mean, you won't often see a FB 25 yards downfield.
  15. I didn't know until recently, but found out when my brother started going to Utica for college. He lost his sh-- when he found out he was more than 75 miles away but still got blacked out as part of the "Syracuse area"
  16. Tarik Glenn eh? Didn't know he was making a comeback
  17. What worries me about Wilson is the Petrino Effect. We saw a bunch of QBs look like stars on Petrino's Louisville teams in the early 2000s, kids like Hunter Cantwell, Stefan LeFors, and Brian Brohm. But none of them were worth a thing as a pro.
  18. I'm with the OP. I watch a whole lot of SEC football and I'm not buying the Bray hype. I see the physical tools, but not the mental ones. What game was it this year where he literally fumbled the game away on a potential game winning drive? UGA? There's better options out there.
  19. as I scanned the first few pages I saw a few posts about Bowe not knowing Chan's offense for X amount of years if he did end up in Buffalo. Remember Chan was the OC in KC in 2008...the year Thigpen was the KC QB, etc. etc.
  20. I would like this move a LOT. Especially if they could re-sign him. That would take one more need off the draft board and let them focus on the big needs....LB and QB
  21. I think the drop off between Urbik and a HEALTHY Rinehart is negligible. Unfortunately for the team, Rinehart's calf injury came at a terrible time. A calf issue is terrible for an offensive lineman, you're losing strength in your leg at a position where every snap you need to be able to explode, change direction and/or anchor down. The difference between injured Rinehart/Brown/Young and Urbik has been noticeable though.
  22. Fitz went to Harvard, Jauron went to Yale. It must be an Ivy League thing.
  23. They could be referring to his penalties this year so far. He hasn't been one to get penalized very often up to this point in his career...but may be the most penalized OL on the team thru 3 weeks. Don't hold me to that though, I said MAY. Don't know where to check it.
