  1. This post nails it home for me. Timmy Ho's coffee has the best caffeine punch of them all. Plus, I don't particularly care for bitter roasts, and I think DD and McD's taste like battery acid and water dyed dark brown. A friend of mine does work at Starbucks and when we were on vacation in June he used his worker discount or whatever they get to get a pound of their coffee for the hotel suite. I want to say it was called blondie or something like that. It was pretty good. BUTTTTTTT I live in Lockport and the closest SB is up Transit in Clarence/Amherst area. Timmy Ho's crack roast it is.
  2. Point 1: Yes, I think things like DBs out of position and WRs running improper routes is because of position coaching. However, athletes do have brain farts at times. Every once and a while you will catch a stinker of a throw out of a Manning or Brady or Rodgers or Brees. Why? Usually because the WR shat the bed and cut in instead of out or something like that. Point 2: Guys who know what works in the NFL eh? Like.....former players? Wheatley, Hilliard and Weaver have to bring in about 25-30 years of playing experience to the coaching staff. That's usually a good thing. Especially the first two. They weren't exceptional players, but they lasted in the league a long time, likely due to their attention to doing the little things to get an edge. Those are things you can teach. Point 3: Lovie & staff. Don't you have a feeling at this point, with most of the vacated positions filled, that if they were really *that* good, he would have been hired somewhere already? I was high on Lovie too, but I find myself asking questions like "Why would he get passed up for Chudzinski(sp?)?"
  3. This is one point I agree with Schopp about. Idk what he's been saying on air recently, but on Twitter he's been on a crusade against NFL coaches since Saturday with Fox's questionable playcalling. According to a tweet yesterday, 24 coaches in the league (regardless of length of tenure) NFL head coaches. Not sure if that figure was before or after the Bradley to JAX and Kelly to PHI hires. On top of that, aside from Andy Reid, every coach hired this offseason....first time head coach in the NFL. This is a trend. Guys like Belichick, Reid and Carroll are now the exception, not the norm...first time guys ARE having success in the league. And I think that is why I am willing to take a wait and see approach with Marrone. I am 24. I barely remember Jim Kelly starting football games. The first game I went to that I actually understood football, Todd Collins was the starter. I have had a long, terrible experience as a Bills fan. And yet I am willing to wait until this guy fails to be all pissy about it. Which means people who actually can REMEMBER the glory years should definitely sack up and get some patience. At least you've got some positive memories. All people my age got were the twilight years of our HOF players.
  4. Worn out joke
  5. Joe Buscaglia just tweeted that Ike Hilliard will be the WR coach
  6. Cautious or reckless, you can't fix stupid.
  7. Wouldn't you be worried as an NFL team about a guy who was so easily taken, if it turns out he was "catfished"? I mean, this is a guy who is about to have an agent, endorsements, millions of dollars, etc. and if he DID get catfished, even his family got catfished too so its not like you can be like "Oh well he was young and stupid but he's got a good support system to make sure he doesn't get duped again." Every con artist in the city he gets drafted to is gonna want a piece of this kid.
  8. 99% sure that isn't a verified account. I feel like I remember checking that.
  9. Yeah, I can direct you to about 535 of them right now.....
  10. I will gladly pay $2.05 for my Tim Hortons XL every day before spending a cent in Starbucks. Overpriced .
  11. I suppose its a good thing the Bills employ a GM then, as inept as he may be eh? Jerry IS the Cowboys GM
  12. Unfortunately, there is a reason that the negotiating teams for Buffalo and NYS left the possibility of a new stadium open with this new lease. Concrete doesn't exactly hold up well to the whole freeze/thaw weathering process of WNY and with The Ralph edging closer and closer to 50 years old, you can only put a BandAid on the structural issues for so long before the work costs more than the added benefit.
  13. He's a freak of nature. The things he can do as a 6'6 player just defy logic. I have seen him with his body at absolutely ridiculous angles to better utilize leverage, I have seen him blow by tackles with his first step, I have seen him bullrush tackles right into the backfield, etc. His swim, rip and punch moves are all otherworldly. The odds of him being a very good pro...I would say are very good. As long as he doesn't lose that drive. The fact he walked onto campus, started and was a top 3 DE in the SEC from day 1 BUT still came back for his sophomore season as a more complete player (vastly improved against the run IMO) is a good start. He's a once in a generation type player if I have ever seen one.
  14. I think that the bowl season really helped sort out the SEC. Like you said, there was a host of teams that were in the top 10 this season: Bama, UF, LSU, UGA, and the original USC. 3 teams looked good in their bowl games. 2 did not. But they all beat up on each other during the season. For example, I look at it from a SC fan perspective. Turnovers cost the Cocks the game against Florida. SC gifted the Gators 24 points, IIRC. In Death Valley, SC made it a game, but Connor Shaw played like absolute garbage. Turnovers again. LSU and Florida did not look very good in their bowl outings. They could have been relying on name and tradition to ride the rankings wave. SC absolutely smacked Georgia in the mouth in their head to head game. Georgia gave Bama a game in the SEC Championship Bama trashed the overrated Irish and Georgia won a good game against Nebraska. SC, UGA, and Bama looked good and probably deserved their top 10 spots.
  15. Yeah....most people frown upon playing Gary Glitter now....you know, with his whole legal situation and all
  16. Its always someone, at least the past handful of seasons. Southerland this season, Melo last year, then of course there were Devendorf's 3 years on campus just waiting for him to get arrested for something....Scoop being Scoop before he grew up out of nowhere....
  17. That being said, I like this hire. Another young guy, probably not great as a player but still good enough to spend 6 years in the league. Usually these are the types of guys who make good coaches. They have a passion for the game and know it to the most minute detail because that type of hard work is what kept them around and gave them a mental advantage, as opposed to a star player who can often skate by with natural ability which cant be taught.
  18. If these are the refs that were good enough to make the playoffs, how bad are the ones who weren't?
  19. you mean the same guy who turned down the HC interview in 09? He can take his overrated O, keep living off his dad's name, and pound salt.
  20. I guess its similar to the OJ thing. Can you still admire his playing career without taking into account the fact he murdered two people and got away with it?
  21. DaQuan Bowers also had a degenerative condition when he was coming out of Clemson a few years ago and that caused him to slide, did it not? I believe that's who it was....slid him from #1 possibility into the 2nd round IIRC
  22. I get the distaste, but its funny how for nearly a decade, the stabbing was an afterthought and then all of a sudden when he gets ready to retire and people are celebrating his playing career ON the field, everyone gets self righteous and wants to bring up things from OFF the field again
  23. that would be correct
  24. I didn't see any pre game show specify where the 3 games he lost below 40 degrees took place, but venturing a guess I would say at least 2 of them were in Foxboro and probably against a #1 Pats team. Did he lose a divisional game in Denver too? EDIT: Nevermind, found it on NFL.com. Lost a wild card game to the #4 Jets in Jan 2003, then to the Pats in 2004 (#1) and 2005 (#2). Manning's Colts were #5, #2 and #3 respectively
