  1. Some of the BN Blitz articles are free. Most aren't. TBN doesn't seem to do anything to denote which are which. The only way to find out is to click every link. If TBN is going to offer some articles outside of the paywall, they should have some sort of indicator. can't blame the guy for getting frustrated with that. Just saw this, apparently I am an idiot. I also have a TBN subscription so maybe I just didn't notice the extra little logo since anything I click works
  2. I think that Jackson's accuracy has been negatively affected by a lack of skill at WR. He threw a decent amount of passes that were dropped by the receiver. He's definitely not been playing with much talent around him. I believe he will be the first offensive skill player from Louisville drafted since Devante Parker in 2014.
  3. This whole thread is facepalm city. 0% surprised how quickly it turned into Lamar Jackson = Tyrod Taylor = he's dumb and can't read a defense.
  4. Is it possible that the Louisville scheme designed like that because the skill position players and OL were...not good? If you have one superstar and 10 JAGs...you're gonna scheme that way. I'm fairly sure that once Jackson is drafted, he will be the first offensive skill player from Louisville since Devante Parker. That's not great.
  5. Are we comparing Mason Rudolph to Tom Brady?
  6. I certainly respect Bill Polian's opinion on players considering the stellar roster he was able to surround Manning with down the stretch in Indy. He's out of touch. He deserves credit for what he did during his career, but his opinion means nothing anymore. Come draft season, every talking head has one agency lining their pocket, and that means talking down the other agency's clients and being a shill for the "good guys." I think Jackson has much more natural talent than Taylor, but definitely has some accuracy issues. If my choices are Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson, I'm going with Jackson because he's got the bigger arm. His accuracy leaves something to be desired, to be sure, but Rudolph has arm strength concerns. And truthfully, we have watched first hand what can happen with a weaker arm in the NFL; Nate Peterman tried to force the ball into windows that were just too tight and threw a lot of INTs that he would have gotten away with at Pitt.
  7. If you can find me one OC that's taken actually bad personnel and made a good offense out of it, especially without a competent QB, I'd love to hear about him. Seriously, Matt Moore is the best the guy had to work with. Matt Moore! He got 1500 yards out of Jamaal Charles, 1200 out of Brandon Marshall WITH MATT MOORE, and while we're talking about making chicken salad out of chicken poop...nearly 1200 yards out of PEYTON HILLIS. There's enough reason to hope it won't be a total disaster. I'm not Tyrod fan and he's still a better QB than anything Daboll was cursed with before
  8. He's stated it before. His only defense for his position is "oh look, here's some rankings with no context." Context is provided in the form of "Yes, those rankings suck, but so did most of the players in those offenses. Good players had good seasons, take Jamaal Charles or Brandon Marshall for example." No response to that is given. Then we just circle back to "this hire sucks. Here's some ratings." Is anyone surprised that teams with Brady Quinn, Matt Cassel, Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace, etc. struggled offensively? Shouldn't be. Is anyone over the moon with this hire? Shouldn't be. Message boards work because when you make a post, you contribute to the discussion. Just saying "this hire sucks" adds nothing.
  9. Christ dude, are you going to add any substance to the discussion at any point or just revisit every 3 or 4 days and repackage the exact same basic points? It's been laid out for you multiple times that there was bad personnel on those offenses. You never respond once that happens. Then you go away for a bit, come back and do the same song and dance. Someone else explains it to you. You disappear. Lather, rinse, repeat.
  10. He's seen it multiple times in this thread but sticks his head in the sand every time
  11. That's a very clever nickname, did you think of it yourself? Maybe it's time we let Schmuggs here graduate from writing with crayon.
  12. Constipation most likely
  13. It depends how you frame it, really. The results on their surface are poor, but so was the talent on the teams that he was OC for. 2009 Browns: Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn at QB, Jerome Harrison (who??) and the last year of Jamal Lewis at RB, Mohamed Massaquoi, Josh Cribbs and Mike Furrey at WR, Robert Royal at TE. 2010 Browns: Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace at QB, Pro Bowler and Madden cover athlete (lol) Peyton Hillis at RB, Mohamed Massaquoi, Josh Cribbs, Chansi Stuckey and Brian Robiskie at WR, Ben Watson at TE. 2011 Dolphins: Matt Moore and Chad Henne at QB, Reggie Bush (1086 yards!) at RB, Brandon Marshall (1200 yards!), Brian Hartline and Davone Bess at WR, Anthony Fasano at TE. 2012 Chiefs: Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn at QB, Jamaal Charles (1500 yards) at RB, Dwayne Bowe, Jon Baldwin and Dexter McCluster at WR, Tony Moeaki at TE. Generally speaking you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh..poop. I'm not over the moon about it, but I'm not doom and gloom
  14. Based on the money saved and age, I would cut Incognito this off-season. Draft a guy, sign a guy, let Groy play there, I don't care. Just save the $7 million. Better to move on a year too soon than a year too late. At 35 years old, there will not be a gradual decline. He will hit a wall.
  15. I don't think the combine physical testing really moves anyone in the eyes of teams anymore. The media might move guys based on numbers but the teams ready know what they think of the guys physically. It's the interviews that can change where a player stands. For example, if say, Josh Allen gets interviewed and can't read defensive keys to save his life, he's not getting picked high. But if he has a good interview and shows he has high football IQ, it's going to solidify his standing
  16. Do not understand the Darnold love. He has a long delivery. Long delivery = batted balls. Sure, you could coach him to have a more compact delivery. But usually changing a QB's mechanics ends with poor results. He's definitely got some talent but those a red flags. Find me someone who has an NFL ready throwing motion.
  17. I don't follow any of the three stooges on Twitter. I miss nothing of substance.
  18. Don't forget Colt McCoy. But get ready for the counterpoint where people try to pretend Tyrod is as bad as McCoy, Quinn or Cassel. Spoiler alert....he isn't
  19. My quick thoughts: if Trump/Russia is real and Obama/Clinton/U1 is real, then we're all in a bad place and truthfully it would make me reconsider bringing children into this world. I decided a while ago that I will not waste my time or energy on speculation with matters like this. If the government wants it buried, it will be buried until none of us are around to see it. We know what they want us to know.
  20. *Accidentally stumbles into PPP, reads this last page and only this last page* Hmm, appears PPP actually redirects to InfoWars. Interesting. Anyway, enjoy your conspiracy theories you guys. Let me know if you need a resupply of tin foil or any assistance crafting your hats.
  21. Smith will return to the Texans in the EVP role only. Gaine just got a 5 year GM contract, they're not going to pay him GM money for 5 years just to kick him back down to AGM when Smith returns from his leave of absence. I would assume Gaine will run the day to day and work directly with BOB and staff. When he returns, Smith would have the "football czar" role. All football ops report up to him, he reports directly to McNair
  22. Just because the receivers were open and not thrown to does not mean it is a dynamic offensive system, nor does it mean that the guy calling the plays is the best option. I'm sick and tired of watching boring, average or below average offense. Dennison could have 11 perennial Pro Bowlers on offense and it would still be a bland boring system
  23. No. I don't hate the kid, but I absolutely do not understand the hype around him from some fans either. He's going to be a backup. He *might* develop into one of those guys who is considered a decent low-end starter/top tier backup. Kind of like Matt Moore was for a few years. But past that? There's a reason he was a 5th round pick. Spare me the "Brady was a 6th round pick" nonsense, we all know that and so do 32 front offices, which is why we will probably never see a guy slip through the cracks like that again. QB's get overdrafted now BECAUSE of Brady. They have that mindset of "better to swing and miss in the 4th than hope the guy keeps sliding and you can steal him in the 5th."
  24. Let me ask you this....do you really think a Dennison offense would be explosive and fun to watch with a really good QB under center? Or would it still be a methodical, repetitive ball control scheme that tries to win the game 17-14? This is 2018. Time for a modern offense. TT has some glaring flaws. That much is easily apparent. But a top notch OC would be able to, or at least *attempt to* hide them and maximize his strengths. Dennison....did not do that. And truthfully probably isn't capable of it.
  25. Only if it's a blowout. Other than that, glad the drought is over.
