In-Depth Breakdown of Lamar Jackson by Eliot Crist
JM57 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rodgers and Luck, when healthy, are consistently between roughly 4th and 8th in rushing yards by QBs every season, usually behind exactly who you would expect (Tyrod Taylor since 2015, Colin Kaepernick when he was starting, Alex Smith, Cam Newton and Russell Wilson most years) Yes, they are very mobile. They are also able to complete throws where many other guys would have to tuck and run. They absolutely have the ability to run for more yards than they do, but have incredible arm talent. -

Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck and Cam Newton all say hello. They were unaware that you are only able to pass the ball well or run the ball well -

Are you trying to say that nearly 1 out of 4 NASCAR fans were Dale Jr. fans and also 100% of those Dale Jr. fans quit watching entirely because he retired? -
NFL Sunday Ticket Price Increase for 2018

Very curious if you could explain further about the $7/month thing. I have a Genie with 2 additional TVs so I am paying $21 a month ($7 per receiver) and my initial contract with them expired this past May so I have no obligation to them. I've been meaning to give them a call since my bill just bumped up about $9 a month without any credits expiring, although that reckoning is coming soon also. I think I am on the Xtra package because that used to be the lowest tier I could get MSG on to watch the Sabres, but not only is MSG on a lower tier now, but I barely ever watch the Sabres so I think I'm clear to drop at least one tier, if not two. Thanks! -

SI: NFL Ratings down 10% in 2017 USA Today: Daytona 500 ratings down by 23% Tell me more about how lower ratings are due to anthem protests and not an accurate representation of the rising popularity of cord cutting. Sporting News: NBC Olympics ratings down 7%, streaming way up Ratings drop is an across the board TV trend, but in sports especially, and is not nearly entirely due to protests. See the precipitous drop in NASCAR ratings above. I guess that's due to the good ol boys protesting right? And finally, yes, I know, "fake news CNN" as our president calls it, but based on Nielsen data from this past fall: NBC is down 4%, CBS is down 6%, ABC is down 11%, and Fox's prime time viewership dropped 20% through the first month of the new TV season -
Baker Mayfield won’t attend NFL draft

His mother was (or is?) very sick and that was why he arrived late and left early from the Senior Bowl. Do a little extra reading. -

You missed the point. Unless of course you think that when he is an NFL QB he will be playing with practice squad players against starters. Because that's essentially what he was doing at Louisville against your premier teams. Not a single offensive player from Louisville drafted in 2016 or 2017. 3 players into those years, total. -

If you read it and that's all you came away with, I might suggest you only read it with enough depth to confirm your thoughts you had going in. There are plenty of examples in that breakdown of him not being a one read and run QB, but you will see what you want to see. Yes, he performed noticeably worse against loaded teams like Florida State and Clemson. But yes, Louisville on a whole team level was completely outclassed by those teams. I would confidently say that Jackson is the only skill player from Louisville that would start, or even have a chance to start, for those teams -

Cover 1 put together a real nice breakdown of Jackson, warts and all. If you still see Tyrod Taylor after reading it, you're a lost cause. He might flame out, but he's a totally different player than TT. -

Reminder that when Lamar Jackson is taken, he will be the first offensive skill player from Louisville drafted...in any round...since Devante Parker in the 2014 draft. He didn't have a ton around him at Louisville. -
Now it begins. Buffalo and Offense.
JM57 replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not true at all. He didn't do anything different in this game than he did all season long with regards to 4th down decisions. There's no jumping the gun. You said it right in your post. Pederson was super aggressive last year and was again this year. McDermott is not an aggressive coach, he will not be next year. -
I'm not up in arms about Castillo like others are but...wasn't his title OL Coach/Run Game Coordinator?
-
Truthfully I'm not positive that Carpenter retired voluntarily as much as he was pushed out the door, when paired with the fact that Gipson was fired immediately after the Carpenter announcement. Basically given them option of be fired or retire with dignity and we will all put on a happy face and call it a mutual decision.

Lamar Jackson is a far better passer than Tim Tebow ever was. -
Should we throw Peterman on the trash heap for 1 bad outing?
JM57 replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No reason to cut him, but I do not, at all, understand the hope that some people here have for this kid. What is it about a 5th round pick with arm strength concerns that gets you going? Sell me on him without mentioning Tyrod Taylor because he won't be on this team next year and has nothing to do with Nathan Peterman. -
Eric Wood has career-ending neck injury; will retire
JM57 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Half in jest, but Murph is employed by either the Bills or Pegula Sports & Entertainment, either way the point is the same. Expecting any type of objectivity from the show would be silly. Hockey Hotline and the John Murphy show broadcast the narratives that the ownership wants to project. That's okay, I would just rather see Eric Wood land on his feet in a way that allows him to actually keep it real. Schlubs like Andrew Peters and Craig Rivet can keep pumping the company line. -

If he chooses to stay in the Buffalo area, I would love to see him kept around the organization in a community ambassador type role, somewhat similar to what you see Jim Kelly doing now. There doesn't need to be only one. I'm going to be 30 years old in April and I barely remember Kelly's playing days. It would be nice to have another long-time, respected former player around for stuff that the younger generation of fans have memories of as well. -
Pick a good offense in the league right now and tell me which position they are weak at. Talent wins.

here we go with this train of thought

Great post here. Without Cooks, Ginn Jr or Bryant to take the top off, those are different offenses. Still effective due to the immense talent but less explosive without the deep threat.
