  1. Thinking this might be the right spot for this. Did a mock on another site where I post that has fans to represent most teams. Any team not represented got one of the diehards to fill in and pick for that team's needs. We're still in the late 2nd round but I'm pretty satisfied thus far: Bills trade #12 & #65 to Chicago for #8 and #115, select Baker Mayfield. (Rosen, Allen, Darnold all off the board) Bills trade #22 and #96 to Tennessee for #25, #89 and #125, select Leighton Vander Esch. (Elected to move down when my #1 target James Daniels went at 21 and there were 5-6 guys left on the board I would take in the range; Will Hernandez, Rashaan Evans, Vander Esch, Isaiah Wynn, Taven Bryan) Bills trade #56 and #115 to Seattle (via Dallas from another trade) for #50, select Frank Ragnow. Jumped ahead of Baltimore and Detroit here as they had OL needs also. At #53 the Bills select Anthony Averett. A CB with a pro comparison of Tre White and one of the highest remaining players on the board was just too good to pass up here. I feel like I've plugged 3 major holes (QB, ILB, C/G) and one minor one. Will try to address WR or OLB with the remaining picks. Any thoughts?
  2. Good thing Pegula can go drill a well if he wants to make more money. He can pay for it himself.
  3. Also how many bad weather games are there a year? Maybe one? 2015 Bengals, 2016 Steelers, 2017 Colts.
  4. All day. Cover me, don't cover the players. I'm still in the elements, but also not soaking wet or covered in snow like the Oakland or Indy games this past season.
  5. 5th grade + 3-5 grades = 8th-10th grade. Coming up a little short...better find the calculator
  6. Rosen Mayfield Darnold Jackson Rudolph Allen
  7. I agree with the premise of your argument but I think the way you are framing it hurts it a bit. When you talk about "top X players" you're going to be talking about dominance in their era, etc. What Thurman really was, was ahead of his time. He was doing what David Johnson or Leveon Bell, or even McCoy do today almost 30 years ago. I was very young during the Bills best days, but as far as I understand it, and looking at the stat lines, that's the best way to frame it. He was cranking out 1000 yards rushing and then adding in 30-50 catches for a couple hundred yards, just like they do now, but in an era where running backs were runners only for the most part
  8. I was just lol'ing at the fact someone wouldn't be excited for one of the top 2 QB's in the draft, but would be for the #5/6 QB. Just silly.
  9. LOLOLOLOLOL
  10. Definitely not ideal, but I don't understand why some fans are panicking following the Incognito retirement. Sure, it was out of left field, but it's not like the writing wasn't on the wall already. The FO made him take a pay cut for this year anyway, which means their position was "you can play with us for less or not play with us at all." They weren't planning on bringing him back after 2018 any way. With that being said, I'm pretty confident that they were already looking at interior OL in this draft, considering: - Wood already retired - Incognito wasn't coming back after this year based on having him take the pay cut - Miller's and Groy's contracts are up after this year AND both of their worth in holding starting positions is based on whether or not Daboll runs a power based blocking scheme as opposed to the zone based scheme that made Miller especially look like trash.
  11. That's actually an overpay based on the trade value chart but I like the idea overall. Using the old Jimmy Johnson chart #4 is worth 1800 points. #12 is 1200 and #22 is 780, so that's 1980 before adding in the 4th or the 2019 2nd. The 4th is worth 52, so that's 2032, and then next year's picks are valued at roughly half price average value of a 2nd rounder is 310, cut in half is 155, so you're paying 2187 for a pick worth 1800. Anything coming back the other way from Cleveland?
  12. They are planning big picture at OBD. If 2018 is a punt/development year, I think they deal with it. They could follow the Rams/Eagles plan. They don't have to throw big bucks at anyone. You find guys who are talented but looking for a short term prove it deal, and you sign them to plug a hole for a year or two, develop the young talent, and let the vets walk.
  13. Yeah.....but the dead cap goes away after the season. More veterans will be cut for more savings (ex Hughes, Clay and McCoy save about 18.5 million) and they have plenty of room already as it stands.
  14. I usually flush things like this post, I don't make a pile, I'm not a savage. Not football related, but I did enjoy his no BS attitude and willingness to wheel and deal. Unfortunately I think he was very bad at valuing assets, and overvalued current players and undervalued picks/prospects. I struggle to decide if his biggest mistake was trading the #1 for Lehner when better goalies were acquired for less (Andersen to TOR, Talbot to EDM) or everything he tried to do on defense turning to absolute poo. I usually lean toward the goalie decision though, since it does look like he may have smashed the Guhle and Borgen picks.
  15. Truthfully this is the case for any trade up for a QB. After Goff was freed from the millstone that is Jeff Fisher, and after two seasons of Carson Wentz, does anyone think the Rams or Eagles regret the price they paid?
  16. The Bears will 100% match offers on Meredith unless it's such a stupid deal that you would be made at your team for offering it. They have plenty of cap space and no reason not to match.
  17. I'm sure that it has been covered already in the multiple pages, but if ignoring holes at other positions to move up to #2 and fill the gaping hole at QB means no playoffs for 3 years, how do you explain the 2017 Rams and Eagles? The Bills are set up currently where they could do something very similar to what both of these teams did in the Goff/Wentz draft. That is, give up a bunch of picks in that draft class as collateral to get the QB the franchise thinks is The Guy. They'll have a challenging rookie season, no doubt, but that's likely to be the case no matter how many picks you make in that class. It's just a matter of learning on the job at the NFL level. Come next off-season, the team is flush with cap space and starts bringing in free agents on short term deals to plug those holes, even if only temporarily. Last I heard, the Bills had somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 million in cap space for 2019. Even without splurging on top free agents, that is more than enough space to sign guys to plug plenty of holes, then draft the rest. Not to mention, once you have fixed THE HOLE at QB, that helps to mask some of the other deficiencies. Get the guy. I'm sick of waiting for a franchise QB and even more sick of this team not even trying to get one.
  18. I swear I've seen you post this 5+ times in different threads. What's the deal here?
  19. Rudolph is a firm #5 out of the top 6 QBs for me. I really don't want him. Definitely not at 12. I'll settle at 22 if he's all that's left. Rankings would go something like this with gaps for preference: Rosen/Mayfield Darnold Jackson Rudolph Allen
  20. He also played with garbage. Not sure if anyone else in the Louisville we will be getting drafted this year, but no one has in the last two drafts. He has played with no one else on offense that has been drafted. Talent around him did not do him any favors in the accuracy department. He's certainly had his misses as well, but there's plenty of room for improvement simply by having the proper caliber players at skill positions.
  21. This is a top 5 bad take of all time. Congratulations.
  22. 3 all time great offensive players and one Lombardi trophy. It's not that I'm never happy but sorry I offended you, whichever Polian you are.
  23. I would argue that teams featuring Manning, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne should have won much more than they did.
