  1. Once again, you are reading things that were not in my post. I said NOTHING about other sports, but you did. I said NOTHING about the fans, but you did. Prior to a certain point, in my lifetime, the NFL--and for the sake of clarity, I mean ONLY the NFL--had its players in the locker rooms during the anthems. At some point, whether it was post-9/11 as I said, or post 2010 when the military started throwing money to the league for shows of patriotism, it changed. That doesn't mean it hasn't changed back and forth in your lifetime. Maybe it has. But I am telling you in say, 1999, players were in locker rooms, and by 2011 they were not. It's unnecessary for them to be out there, especially when it's the simplest solution to this issue.
  2. Players were in the locker rooms for the anthems prior to a certain point. Never said anything about the fans. Proof people just see what they want instead of reading carefully.
  3. The easiest solution is the simplest one. Both teams in the locker room. Just like it was before 9/11 turned every sporting event into a show of unabashed patriotism
  4. That's entirely possible as well but I would be much more inclined to say that if they signed someone during free agency or even a UDFA as opposed to a tryout
  5. With no FB on the roster except Dimarco, I bet this is a way to limit his reps through OTAs and camp while still allowing Daboll to run his "regular" offense when we are watching the 3rd, 4th and 5th stringers come late summer
  6. Can't say I blame em. You get the same view for $380 a seat that I get for $610 a seat
  7. I search every year to jump the aisle into your section since its about half price to move literally 3 seats to my left. Never an opening.
  8. Yeah and I think my biggest thing is I didn't want the boom or bust guy. I was much more comfortable with Rosen, whose ceiling was probably Matt Ryan, but floor was...I don't know, maybe Sam Bradford (not a great runner + injuries, this was the best I could come up with), as opposed to Allen whose ceiling is something of a Stafford/Big Ben hybrid but his floor is Kyle Boller.
  9. Thanks for this. This is how I feel. I was a Rosen guy in the week leading up to the draft. I really, truly felt that Allen would be a mistake, especially on the Bills, because of the WR/OL situation, and of course, because of Battered Bills Fan Syndrome. When the trade happened, I was so nervous. When Goodell said "The Buffalo Bills select Josh--" I held my breath and waited for them to not screw it up. And then they did. I felt as though I just received a swift kick in the nuts. I sat in silence with my head in my hands for a good 10 minutes. I was absolutely demoralized by it. Just when I thought maybe the guys in charge were different this time, they did THIS. That being said, you can see the *tools* Allen has that they fell in love with. The question is whether they have the coaching staff (who knows) and personnel (definitely not right now) to turn those tools into on field production. I think he has a long way to go, and I hope they can prove me wrong. If not? Well, Allen will join the Manuel/Losman bust pile, and McDermott and Beane will be joining Gregg, Jauron, Donahoe etc in the hall of shame
  10. I did not want him. I am not happy. He is not "my guy now." What I do want is for him to prove me wrong.
  11. Jerry Jones is the ULTIMATE meddler. Are you the owner, or the GM? I truly believe the #1 reason that team has been mediocre for most of the 2000s is because he won't take his botox brain and take two steps back from football operations and let the football guys do their job.
  12. Yep, just like the cowardly piece o poo he is.
  13. I'm not even talking about being aggressive in the passing game. I'm talking about being aggressive like, it's 4th and 1 or 4th and inches and you choose to punt. Why? Tom Brady is possibly the least athletically gifted starting QB in the league and he can convert a QB sneak in that situation at an obscene rate. The Bills on the other hand, can't, or don't, trust their OL to get enough push to gain 3 feet or less in the same situation which drives me absolutely nuts.
  14. I don't listen to enough of the show to speak to what you've said about Schopp's supposed position, but in the roughly 30 minutes I hear on the drive home, I think I can sum up his position on the Bills like this: Schopp would very much enjoy it if the Bills were forward thinking, kind of like the Eagles demonstrated last year. Just little things. Get aggressive on 4th and short, even once in awhile. Don't be afraid. Break out of that old school football guy mentality. There are useful applications of analytics for football and game strategy. USE THEM. Don't "trust your gut" as Rex Ryan would say, use your brain. Be Bill Belichick; find ways to be smarter than the other guy and exploit it mercilessly until it no longer works. Unfortunately, I don't think the current regime will ever be those guys. Too much old school in their blood. We'll be three yards and a cloud of dust, run and stop the run for as long as Ron Howard lite is coach.
  15. Mind like a steel trap, this one. Forget what I run downstairs to grab 9/10 times and often forget what I'm doing next mid task but I can sure as hell tell you what jersey number a depth WR for the Bills wore 2 seasons ago
  16. If I recall correctly, Justin TD Hunter wore #17 I thought Clay wore #13 (he was here and gone before the KB deal right?) But I could be wrong
  17. Kyle Boller is one you hear when talking about arm strength/accuracy only. Also heard Jake Locker or Jay Cutler.
  18. Daboll has always run offenses with power blocking schemes so he should be a better fit for this offense than Dennison's. Still a spot that could be upgraded in the future but maybe less of a priority
  19. Hoping Teller can challenge enough at LG. Bodine is just....constantly on the ground, and not accompanied there by a defender.
  20. Nope. Nope. Nope nope nope nope. Bodine is bad and should see the field only in a break glass in case of emergency situation
  21. Speculation that he and the new coaching staff under didn't quite mesh.
  22. Someone else linked it, but if I had to guess off the top of my head, St. Brown from Notre Dame is probably one of the top WR left. Borderline top end speed with his size probably rates pretty high
  23. Take what you will from the analytics crows, but I do enjoy the work that Kent Lee Platte does to document athletic scores for each position group. It definitely helps paint a picture of guys raw athletic ability compared to their peers. Obviously athletic ability does not equal football ability but, they definitely have a type. Beane wasn't here last year, BUT remember that the Bills allegedly "stole" two Panthers favorites in Dion Dawkins and Zay Jones...look at their RAS scores. Very high numbers. Now look at Allen, Edmunds and Phillips: They seem to be taking guys who are incredible athletes, which I guess is pretty fun, even if they don't pan out, right?
  24. Deon Cain or Tre'Quan Smith
