  1. I said higher than a 6th, so 5th or better. If you let Dareus go at a much younger age for that price, you have to do it with Shady too.
  2. So you keep him around and let him walk for nothing? Why? This is a long term project team right? Passing on assets is short sighted
  3. I do it for just about any price above a 6th rounder. He is a 30 year old RB. You are a rebuilding team. You take what you can get and thank your lucky stars.
  4. I would have drafted any of the other QBs in round 1. I would have made sure we were John Brown's #1 choice. By his own admission he almost signed here but chose Baltimore's one year deal instead (betting on himself). I would have offered him a multi year deal as well as an option for a one year deal if that's what he wanted. I wouldn't have spent all the cap space for Murphy and Star. I would have found guys that were similarly effective but less proven, on shorter term and lower cap hits and then taken the saved money to help the offense somewhere...anywhere.
  5. When you take something literally that was clearly hyperbole
  6. Yeah, I'm not inclined to agree there. The chance was very small to begin with and then they did everything wrong around him.
  7. Yes and I could win the Mega millions tonight
  8. Allen for Carr straight up
  9. I did forget Dawkins and I do agree he was a nice pick. So they've hit on one player out of about 10 on offense. Considering they need to fix 9 positions on offense in the next year or two (assumption here is that they have Allen and Dawkins locked in and no one else is a long term fit) that's not great. Even if you want to include Jones, they still need 8 starters.

  11. You're ignoring all the quotes and evidence to the contrary if you think McDermott's voice isn't equal or nearly equal to that of Beane
  12. If you truly think Beane, who was hired after McDermott, who the Pegulas were smitten with, is calling the shots, I have some oceanfront property in Montana to sell you. They may work in tandem, but McDermott absolutely has a strong voice in player moves. Nothing happens without his blessing. Nothing. The neglected offense is on him as much as Beane.
  13. Good thing the acquisitions they have made on offense so far: Jones, Benjamin, Tolbert, Matthews, Holmes, Ducasse, Bodine...etc. have been so effective. I definitely trust them to find the right guys to fix a historically bad offense. They clearly know how to identify good offensive players, just look at that list of good contributors above.?
  14. Great post, but that takes me right to my next point on these guys. Every one of their offensive additions to this point has been a swing and miss. How am I supposed to believe they're just going to magically figure that out this off-season
  15. So you're telling me that despite being aware of the value of an offense, he, along with his handpicked GM Beane, took an offense that was inconsistent but able to put points on the board, ripped it to the studs and drafted a low floor, low chance to succeed project QB on purpose? Wow.
  16. But that wasn't the case! They still had players on offense that could put up points! The offense wasn't what got Rex fired, it was him being a clown show and having a terrible defense. The offense wasn't world beating or consistent but it COULD score and they CHOSE to rip it to the studs.
  17. It is possible yes, but if that is the case, he wouldn't have said on day one he believes in run and stop the run. He's not a progressive coach. They made a bad hire...again
  18. So because he took a bad defense and made it good (sometimes) he gets to stay? What about taking an offense that was #1 rushing and relatively competent and turning it into a complete and utter dumpster fire? For every good thing he has done on defense, he has done something negative to the offense. Honeymoon is over. Coach sucks.
  19. So because other teams and other owners made mistakes, they should make those same mistakes? Come on.
  20. Being awful technical there since he didn't hire Marrone, he was inherited, and wasn't fired, but opted out of his contract. But whatever. Let's play this process game for another year and waste more time
  21. Yes, the Pegulas should ignore the fact this regime has turned the franchise into a national laughingstock and instead stay the course simply because the last owner had a revolving door of coaches
