Sal C, talking but saying nothing...
JM57 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that you bumbling caller? Should I listen for you on the drive in or the drive home? What's the topic du jour? Are we going to bring up signing a washed up vet? Trading for someone that will never be available? Or perhaps just ask the host a salary cap question that is easily answered by visiting Spotrac yourself? -

I'd rather hear a professional "talk but say nothing" than listen to a single caller "umm uhh well yeah I uhh umm" through an incredibly stupid idea. So there's that- 87 replies

Week 14, 2017 - The Snow Game. Where were you?
JM57 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Section 240. For most of the first quarter I could not see much on the field OR on the big scoreboard over my shoulder because the snow was getting blown right in my face and seemed to be swirling around inside the stadium itself. What a wild experience that was. I don't have any pictures because I zipped my phone away and didn't pull it back out after my incident at the gate coming in. I came in right as it started snowing and my hands got wet when I took my gloves off to empty my pockets, then had a hell of a time getting my hands back in my gloves. Once the gloves were back on there was no way they were coming off again. We left at halftime. Helped a couple cars get a head of steam in the parking lot and then hopped in the truck and headed out. White knuckle from the stadium, down Southwestern, Bayview and Route 5 until the far side of Woodlawn and then by the time we were out of Lackawanna it was barely snowing at all. When I was in the 290, I got a couple strange looks with all the snow in the vehicle but not a flake to be seen on the ground there. Pulled up to my in-laws right as the Colts scored. Longest drive of my life. -
Section 240, Row 10. Just not feeling up to three December games, and would rather spend some extra time with my little ones. Neighbors are super friendly. Price is negotiable, just ask that you are a Bills fan and don't be a wiener.

Agreed on these points overall. One thing I would like to add is *if*, and this is a huge if, the account of Hunt and his friends is true-- that is he flew off the handle when the young woman in the video used a certain racial slur starting with "n"....then I think that Hunt is a person capable of being "fixed." To be clear, I am not in any way justifying violence toward women or excusing his behavior. What I do feel is that using the N word toward someone puts the offending party in an "all bets are off" situation. You have said something absolutely inexcusable. There is no telling what kind of reaction you will get out of someone if you do that. I can only imagine the pure seething rage it could invoke in a person. Again, that does not excuse Hunt and his wrongdoing. If the racial slur was what triggered this disgusting behavior, it does make me lean toward thinking that with the desire to harness his emotions, Kareem Hunt could change for the better and never do this again.

Schmidt's hangtime is non existent. He was strong pinning opponents back when punting from up the field a bit (say like our 35 or 40) but was not able to flip the field if the offense sputtered out deep. Without hangtime distance means nothing. If you kick it 60 yards but your coverage guys aren't there because it was on a rope, you've accomplished nothing.
-
Just did some quick research and uh....what stats are you looking at? Darr has higher yards per punt and net averages than Schmidt.

No that was Adams the Titans owner. First name escapes me I think it was Bud or something similar. This is the "inmates running the asylum" guy

What does Josh Allen need to do in Bills last 6 games?
JM57 replied to Matt Parrino's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure it's been said but: Pass for more than 85 yards a game is the biggest thing. Don't tuck the ball and run at the slightest hint of pressure Go through progressions and deliver on schedule His WR group still isn't great BUT I think it's improved since he last played, especially with the addition of Thompson as a field stretcher, and it did look like Foster's PS stint made him hungry. There needs to be some semblance of progress in these 6 games. -
Can I revise my vote to a hard 0%?

TNF week 9: Final Battle of the Bay? The Bosa Bowl?
JM57 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You misspelled McDermott -
That's painting with an awfully broad brush. I'm neither angry nor old, but I am on board with the idea. I don't care if it is tomorrow, after the season, whatever. When the time comes and they end up on the scrap heap with every other coach and GM that has come through town in my adult life, I won't miss them and their "Trust the Process" BS one bit. To be fair, they have done some very nice work on the defense. But the offense and the complete failure to identify any meaningful contributors outside of Chris Ivory has set that side of the ball back to the leather helmet era. As far as GMs go, a lot of the rising guys last year did get their own jobs finally. Eric DeCosta in Baltimore has been mentioned for years and years and will finally get a shot to run the show with Ozzie Newsome retiring. Nick Caserio is not leaving Boston for Buffalo, especially with Brady and Belichick both getting close to riding into the sunset. Brian Gaine was here last year and went back to Houston as the GM. Brian Gutekunst almost got the Niners job over John Lynch but is now running the show for the Packers. Those are all guys that would have been nice. Until the off-season I don't think we will here much chatter about who the next round of up and comers are, but there is one guy left from the class of guys mentioned above: Eliot Wolf. Many thought he would be the next Packers GM, but he got squeezed out by Gutekunst and moved on to the Browns to serve as AGM this season. As far as coaches go, common sense would say find an offensive mind. In retrospect, the right move after firing Rex Ryan was probably hiring Anthony Lynn. He was here, he did a decent job calling the offense considering the constant injuries, and he already had a proven DC lined up to come with him in Gus Bradley. The Pegulas were just so desperate to get as far away from the Rex Ryan stink that they couldn't see the best option was right under their noses. I would say that the best move post McDermott would either be find a defensive coach who can bring a proven OC with them, or an offensive coach who will bring a proven DC. That's hard to pin down, of course, but those are things the Bills would learn in their interviews. A good head coach would be able to sit down and say "If I'm hired, Coach X is my offensive coordinator. If he isn't available, Coach Y. If he isn't available, Coach Z." And so on. Offensive guys: John Defilippo (MIN OC, formerly Philly) Todd Monken (TB OC) - given the full reins to the offense from Koetter this year and look at the difference. Defensive guys: James Bettcher (NYG DC, formerly Arizona) Jim Schwartz (has he learned from his failings in Detroit?) Kris Richard (Dallas DC, formerly Seattle, interviewed with Bills in 2016/17) Others: Dave Toub (KC AHC/ST coordinator) if they want to take another stab at the Andy Reid tree he's always a sleeper name. Mike Leach (Washington State) - hey why not? I don't think the NFL is ready for his personality. Jim Harbaugh - always rumored to be ready for a comeback. Meh.

Derek Anderson injury - in concussion protocol
JM57 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, now that it's been revealed that Anderson is likely unavailable, there is no other option. -
If Anderson is sidelined due to injury......
JM57 replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure "per game" is the right way to frame Peterman's INTs because he has never played a full one. Across his 6 or appearances I would guess he has about 10 total quarters of playing time -

Oh okay, thanks for your input then. Real riveting stuff to further the discussion -

Suggesting PeterPan starts another game is a slap in the face to anyone who bought season tickets and still has to go to 5 more games. -

Still feeling it from last night are we? -
Look Shady is a very good player. HOF career. But he's got a lot of factors working against him. Position. Age. Contract. His value is what it is. If he gets moved for a 3rd round pick it is because of a bidding war or the Eagles get desperate for a homecoming. That's just how it goes. RB is just not a hot commodity.
