What happened to the NFL Network
Ned Flanders replied to Ned Flanders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a waste in the fact that they have the entire vault of NFL Films at their fingertips and play the same crap over, and over, and over.... Training Camp with the Ravens? New England vs. Indy in the 2003 AFC Championship Game? "In Their Own Words?" This stuff is played more than "Law and Order!" I get more vintage NFL Films play on ESPN Classic...NFL Network = RJ -
NFL Europe is on! Jeeziz, even the Bills are promoting the show on their web site...I guess NFL-N will have to squeeze it in between Summer Camp with the Jaguars and another Patriots Super Bowl highlight show... NFL Network is a waste.

Garage Door? Is that still there?!? Used to follow up a visit there with a journey across the street to Country Sweet or just down E. Ridge to Harry's Hots...jeeziz, that was 25 years ago...
-
Anybody hear if there will be customized jerseys available, either through the Bills or NFL Shop? I wouldn't mind a Kemp, Lamonica, or Cookie version.

Bedtime was delayed for a half-hour last night, as ESPN Classic played the 1993 highlight reel. Jeeziz, what once was... Not only do I remember some of the key plays from that season, but where I was when they happened. * Matt Darby's game saving INT at Dallas * Mickey Washington's INT and TD at Miami * Jets missed FG the day after Christmas at Rich * Tasker's almost-TD KO return in the playoff vs. the Raiders * Henry Jones' INT in the endzone near the end of the half vs. KC Alot of exciting moments from our last SB season.

Thought so... Anybody get a look at the pennant...was that the white helmet with the standing red buffalo?

Not to be picyune...but didn't the '65 threads have the side numbers on the sleeve, not the shoulders?

D.C. radio slams Ralph Wilson
Ned Flanders replied to ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being in DC, I listen to the shills on 980 from time to time...Bram (short for Bramington? Bramster? Whatever....) is the station's "beat" reporter, who spends nearly every waking hour at Redskin Park, hustling guys like Sean Taylor, who's MIA BTW, as they get out of their Humvees each morning. His signature signoff, "I'm Bram Weinstein," after every dopey "report" is just as annoying as he is... Bottom line, 980 is a struggling sports radio station is a one horse Redskin town. They are ALL about the Redskins, virtually nothing else shows up on their radar screen. You would think that with the Nats in town, they would be all over them. No. They passed off on covering the Nats, as one of Weinstein's butt-buddies Andy Pollen put it, "It was not a good deal for us." Here is their "play list" Redskins MD Terps basketball (BTW, they're all friends with Gary Williams, coach at UM...it's nausiating to keep hearing everyone refer to him as "Gary this, Gary that." Think they are at all critical of him?) NBA Redskins Terps basketball Redskins NBA Redskins Nats Sometimes they knock the Skins...but this thing was Ralph was an attempt to say to Danny-BOY Snyder, "See, we're sticking up for you, put the Skins on our radio station...puh-leeez?" -
Buffalo...why do people hate us?
Ned Flanders replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember when the New England franchise was once among the poorest in the league, when they played in a glorified Division II college stadium, when they were lucky to get 30,000 in the place...move to Hartford, not move to Hartford? And this was only about a dozen years ago. How quickly three Super Bowl wins and an ultra-aggresive owner can turn things around...now they're one of the NFL's corporate elite. Makes me often wonder what the Bills franchise would look like if they had WON four in a row...season ticket waiting list, $75.00 "cheap" seats, corporate sponsors out the wahzoo...Bills gear as available out-of-region as Pats stuff is now. -

Dr. Dean's History Lesson "But the thing that really bothered me the most, which the 9-11 Commission said also wasn't true, is the insinuation that the president continues to make to this day that Osama bin Laden had something to do with supporting terrorists that attacked the United States. That is false. The 9-11 Commission, chaired by a Republican, said it was false." DNC chairman Howard Dean on Meet the Press (May 22, 2005). MSNBC -
Alabama-Huntsville? Listen, I'm glad RIT went D-1 (wife is '85 grad...and Rochester was the largest US city without a D-1 program in any sport)...but I just have to wonder how the bejeezus a school in Alabama qualifies to be D-1 in hockey.

Bills Digest free this month
Ned Flanders replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This rag quickly became fish wrap when the original Shout! folded (or sold out to the Bills). Any "official publication" cannot be trusted, for its content will surely be slanted. That's why I liked Shout!, it was independent and did not have to get the green light from OBD on every article. In addition, it seemed like every other page was a full-page ad in Bills Digest...and the material was dated the minute it went in the mail...cancelling my subscription was an easy decision. -
I seem to find more vintage NFL Films programming on Classic than I do the NFL Network, which is surprising because NFLN has access to the ENTIRE VAULT of NFL Films...but I guess Training Camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, or the daily showing of last year's AFC championship, somehow makes better theater.

Possible job in Mclean, Virginia
Ned Flanders replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Glenn, clicked on Jimmy's site and saw the pictures from the Ravens game...was that the trip were it was something like $250 for tix and tailgate? Looks like they had a good time, despite the weather and the Bills' performance. -
Here is the 1965 uniform...I remember some red trim on the sleeve stripes, though, both home and away. Hope they make the old timers, i.e. Kemp, Cookie, etc available in this style. 1965 Bills uni's And please, for all in the name of God that is good, no red helmet with a white standing buffalo like we saw in 1994!

1973...the best Bills threads ever Classic
-
It was actually 47 yards....a number that will forever be planted in my head. Also, after the safety, didn't Andre Reed fail to come up with a pass around the NY 40 that left the Bills in a punting situation? Seem to remember that key play as well. If the Bills continue the drive with that first down, XXV coulda went the other way.

I dunno...looks really outta place. I'll always remember #12 in the classic royal...this is kinda like bidding on a Babe Ruth Boston Braves jersey.
-
I second that....

(ot)Comcast Sports net on Directv
Ned Flanders replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CSN and the Wiz-Bulls was on last night (CH 629) in NOVA. MASN is on CH 626 and they broadcast the Nats-Dodgers game last night. As you know, CSN has filed suit against MASN, saying CSN should have had a chance to bid for the O's package. (The O's package w/CSN runs out AFTER the 2006 season) So, in typical cable fashion, Comcast has not picked up MASN...claiming thay got hosed by Angelos...DirecTV has, however, come to an agreement with MASN and is showing about 65 Nats games on 626, which if you live in the Washington area, comes with the basic programming package, like CSN. So, long story short, the DC-Baltimore area now gets two RSNs (don't know if Richmond was included). MASN right now only shows the Nats, and will go to some sort of filler programming next year, in which DTV will carry the network 24/7. -
So the Lions now have FOUR uniforms? Did they lose sight of the fact what the word "uniform" means? Jeeziz, does everyone still want to look like the LA Kings? And for the Bills, these were the best of (fashion) times: Best Bills uni's ever
