  1. The second game that season vs the Jets was the OT thriller, where Smerlas blocked a last minute FG in regulation to send the game into OT, where Norwood nailed the game winner. I watch a tape of that game from time to time and the Bills almost won it in the final seconds when a Kelly bomb to Reed fell just beyond Andre's fingertips. I was living here in DC at the time and the game was shown locally, which in those days, hardly ever happened. Remember, this was pre-NFL Ticket, pre-sports bars, etc. Usually, I would have to call home for updates or try to get WHAM to come in. But this game, for some reason, was shown in the DC area, and I remember standing the entire game.
  2. Gee, I wish there was a baseball board on TBD where this could be posted....
  3. With XM baseball, you get the home team broadcast only...unlike Sirius which gives you the choice of either NFL team's feed.
  4. Why aren't you out there this morning?!? Grab a Tim Horton's coffee and your camera and get out there!
  5. Details like this are still unclear, but the Washington Post had a pretty decent Q and A in the paper this morning: Link
  6. Wow! These are great, almost macnmotion quality! These pictures and reports are like crack...keep 'em coming! (Who was the poster that use to roll that line out every training camp?)
  7. Looks like they're about 3 years behind the times with other "stars" too...you can even get a Michael Vick jersey!
  8. I threw out everything but the magnet. It's a little bigger than a postage stamp. Big whoop. Wonder what it cost DTV to print and mail this useless dribble?
  9. My question is, when did Tiki Barber become a political analyst?
  10. What a great idea! Events like this is when I really miss WNY....
  11. We've had two snake incidents at our neighborhood pool this summer...black snakes, relatively harmless, but still about six feet long and mean as all get out. One was right outside the fence, later came in the kiddie pool area, then took a swim in the adult pool. He was quickly beheaded by a brave member. A couple of weeks ago, a black snake coiled himself up in the pipe above the men's room shower. He was quickly shown the door and chopped up as well.
  12. I hope you're right....
  13. Two Friday nights down here in DC...ahhhhh, the beer's gonna be cold!
  14. Not me...I went to the game last December and being that everything at Danny's Place is over-the-top pricewise, even in the preseason, (tickets, parking, beer) I'll be watching this from home on Ch. 9 in HD.
  15. More importantly, what if the Bills find themselves with 2000 tickets to move for Seattle, only a little more than two weeks before the game, and after they told everyone in the Free World that the game was "sold out?"
  16. Soooo...how are the Bills selling these Kids Day tickets without affecting the season ticket campaign? When I was upstate a couple of weeks ago, I saw a poster at my father-in-law's school advertising Kids Day tickets ($10/kids, $40/adults)...say someone ordered 4 kids and 2 adult tix, aren't those seats now out of the season ticket circulation, thus opening 6 tickets for individual game sales? Were those tickets sold to the STHers as part of the pre-sale? I know I sound like an old wind bag on this subject, but this whole season ticket campaign has me miffed.
  17. Former Senator Gary Hart already has a call in to Donna Rice and the Captain of the “Monkey Business”…
  18. "The Pacific" is being produced by Spielberg and Hanks...if it's half as good as Band of Brothers, I'll be happy.
  19. No thanks, reminds me a little too much of the Starland Vocal Band... This is a classic also: Linky
  20. I know Gene Upshaw believes differently, but the rookie salary pool is way outta wack...the vets need to rise up and challenge their union leader here, not just sit back and whine like they've been doing. If there was not a cap, I would tend to believe Upshaw when he sez that the big rookie contracts raise all boats...but there is a cap and the vets are getting screwed.
  21. It's a very nice stadium and the 'hood's ok. Reminds me of Atlanta...you enter through at the center field gate and there's a bar there that looks out over the field. They made a big stink before the season started about the dearth of parking and that it would be for season ticket holders only. Well, that didn't last, as quickly after opening night, several lots opened up to gameday parking. The four times I've driven there, I've parked in a lot that's only about 1/3 full. The parking mess never materialized, but many here still think that you can't park. Dopes. Getting there by Metro is ok, but I take the Orange line to Capitol Hill and walk the 1/2 mile to avoid the crowds at the stop right at the park
  22. My grandfather was a CPO during WWI and until the day he died, he was always referred to as "Chief."
  23. For us out-of-towners, I look forward to the training camp pictures from Andy, who goes by macnmotion here on TSW. His pics are high quality and always make me feel like I'm in Pittsford. Andy, if you're out there, load up the ol' Brownie and send pictures pronto!
  24. Two of the best bathroom books ever published.
