Would you watch a "Consolation" Bowl?
Ned Flanders replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Please for the good that is all holy, no. I'm old enough to remember these games, the later ones played in Miami. Lombardi called them the "Losers Bowl," or the "S*it Bowl." -
The national media narrative since the Bills won
Ned Flanders replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I watch these guys because they're in my age bracket and complain about the same things I do. Wilbon mixes in Chicago sports in almost every segment, it's not that annoying, but his statement regarding his rooting interest in the game was odd to me as well. I said to my wife before the show, that they were going to talk about how the Ravens lost and not why the Bills won. I was pleasantly surprised that they gave the Bills pretty much equal time. -
OT: 1980 Our 1st ever AFC East title, from local coverage
Ned Flanders replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still say, that if that team had home field advantage, they would have went to the Super Bowl. Recall, there were five teams at 11-5 in the AFC and through some wacky tiebreaker scenario, we had to play AT San Diego, even though Bills beat them earlier in the season. We know what happened there. -

Does anybody actually have any fond memories of New Year's/NYE?
Ned Flanders replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
I recall Curt Gowdy announcing Clemente's death the next day, during the Rose Bowl. Tragic. -
Recall the Ravens got the ball back and came up just short on a fourth down play...I saw one of the refs pointing the other way, indicating it was Cincy ball...it was at THAT moment that I really celebrated the drought being slayed.

I like the '47 brand cotton dad hats much better than New Era...plus, I try to avoid New Era since they said goodbye to Derby, NY in 2019.

Had Creepy Crawlers and also Mattel came out with a similar product where you made your own Army men. You would fill the mold half way with the goo, put in a metal form about the texture of a paper clip, and fill the mold to the top. You then had a bendable Army guy. Lincoln Logs very underrated and augmented my Fort Apache playset. Built all sorts of models, Revell and Monogram cars, ships, and planes, AMT model cars but Aurora monster models were the best. They also put out sports hero models...I remember building Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Willie Mays, and Babe Ruth.

I miss when Bob Hope would introduce the All American team during his Christmas special...it was always fun. I'm old. Bruce:

Agree, the AFC South is the most irrelevant division in the NFL, thus they get the least-watched time slot. The NFC South isn't far behind...

Ned Flanders replied to Sweats's topic in Off the Wall
Just got back from mine...lunch, office trivia contest (each person submits an anecdote about themselves and everyone guesses who it is), and pirate gift exchange...took a little more than two hours, then BACK TO WORK. -
Aurora HO cars were the best. Good for you for keeping hold of them. I look at the Aurora stuff on eBay and drool.

Hiring a Clock management specialist
Ned Flanders replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been yelling at the TV from my couch that I could do better at clock management. I'm uniquely qualified for the job. Anyone have BBB's email address?
