As I said when the bootleg picture of Moorman was found, they got the stripes all wrong...blue stripe should be outlined in red, and red outlined in blue. Bills, Reebok, or both, got lazy here...they're much better than the current threads, but they shoulda got it right.

I was there and have many great memories...it was the day after Christmas and on Christmas Eve the Bills put out a call via the local media for people to come shovel snow out of the stands, $5/hour. Many showed up, most of them homeless and without the proper winter attire. Seeing men shoveling snow in not much more than a sweatshirt and jeans, Marv Levy went into the locker room and brought out all the Bills jackets, gloves and hats he could carry and gave them to the workers. True story. Also, on Inside the NFL the week following, the NFL Films clip started with Levy and Jets coach Bruce Coslett talking at mid-field before the game: Levy: "We won't have 30,000 people here today." Coslett: "Are you kidding? I just looked out at your parking lot, it's packed!" Levy: "These people are crazy." Classic

A few videos from first camp session

Andy's outstanding training camp pix are an annual treat for us out-of-towners....thanks my friend! -
The Bills have been doing this type of "marketing" for years, and it really makes no sense. By declaring four games "sold out" early, they take the wind out of the sails for people/groups to attend these games (especially the TBD tailgator, which I hope to get to some year). It's flawed, deceptive and makes little financial sense. By opening tickets to the first four games, they must have gotten little increase in season ticket sales since declaring the first four games "sold out." What is more mystifying is that the media buys off on this every year and you see the D and C and the News run with the Bills' press release. The "sold out" policy is strictly to build on season ticket sales...maybe the buying public has finally caught on.

I've seen the HBO spots on him and it seemed to me like the guy took too many fastballs to the head...

Yes I know there is a baseball forum....

Oh pleeeze...if the Yanks had swept the mighty Nats, you wouldn't care if it was Gilbert Gottfried doing the announcing. Granted, Dibble is dreadful and is more of a homer than Hawk Harrelson, but methinks thou dost protest too much. -
I was saying the same thing in an earlier post about the white throwbacks...somebody got lazy here. And if it was Reebok, someone at OBD has to make the call and make it right. Somebody, either at Reebok or at OBD, had to see the prototype...and that person(s) most likely wasn't even born when the throwbacks were around and when handed a set of the 2009 version, probably said something like, "No big deal, no one will notice the stripe trim." Jeeziz, just get it right. Look at the detail in the San Diego throwbacks...the Bills jerseys need to be as accurate as possible.

I saw video from Iran, then saw video from LA last night right after the Lakers game...it's was hard to tell the two apart.

White throwback unis are coming
Ned Flanders replied to BarkLessWagMore's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This really ticks me off...if it's Reebok to blame, a pox on their house. If it's the Bills, well...they've had enough poxes to deal with over the years. Anywho, somebody's being lazy here, and I don't don't like it! -

Whoa! Didn't the red and blue stripes have outlines (blue on the red, red on the blue)? Don't tell me they got lazy and left out that detail... -
Truly, one of those Bills moments where you knew exactly where you were. I was living in Arlington, VA and was being kept alive here by the NBC Ten Minute Ticker (remember that ancient technology?). Anywho, the last score I saw was the Bills down 11 late in the 4th. I said screw it, and drove to my then-girlfriend's house in DC. Well, I get Van on WHAM right as I'm going over the Potomac...and right before the last play, I had to drive into a tunnel...I lost recepetion! As I'm coming out of the tunnel, Van is going nuts and I start honking my horn like it's New Year's Eve. Got to my girlfriend's, called my brother and got the full scoop. Damn...20 years ago, and it feels like last week. Every time I go through the E St. tunnel in DC, I remember that moment. Thanks Jay for the tremendous find!

Historical Games of the Week for 2009
Ned Flanders replied to KRC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the Bucs, that 1988 game that cost us home field advantage...I think the Bills lost 10-5 For the Saints, we whipped up on them pretty good in I think game 4 in 1980, down in NO...or the 1989 game where journeyman John Forcade (sp?) stole the show in the snow. At the Panthers, short history there, but the 1998 Sunday night win deserves a nod. -
The first two seasons were great, this season, not so much so. It seems the writing has gone from smart and edgy to just plain goofy (that thing last week with Jenna and the monkey?). And as much as I hate Baldwin, he makes the show. It's still DVR-worthy, just not the unsung comedy that the first two seasons were. Agree on the Fey "I'm an ugly duckling" bit, that seems to repeat week after week. Oh, and the kidney song? Doesn't hold a candle to the Simpsons, "And we're sending our love down the well..." from more than 10 years ago.

History of the Buffalo Bills DVD
Ned Flanders replied to Mike In Illinois's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seven bucks cheaper on Amazon, plus you don't pay the outrageous Bills Store shipping.... If it's 100 minutes, it will be some of the same stuff we've seen from NFL Films over the years...I hope they include the 28 minutes or so of A Town, A Team, A Dream. That needs to be on there somehow. Also, there was some good stuff on the 35th anniversary VHS tape. Of course, I'd be willing to bet a dime, the Homerun Throwback will be on there... -
Has anyone been on a TV game show?
Ned Flanders replied to rockpile's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I tried out for Jeopardy down here in DC about a dozen years ago. I seem to remember it being a 75 question quiz, and the first 'answer' was, "This WWII figure was known as the 'Desert Fox.'" I thought, dang, this is going to be a piece of cake. Well, the next 74 'answers' were not so simple. Of about 100 in the room, they picked the top five. I was not one of them. Everyone got a "Thanks for playing our game" Jeopardy pen. Woo Hoo!!! That was my first and only dip in the gameshow pool. -
Dang, that Los Angeles Don sure looks fearsome...what the hell's a "Don" anywho?

You sure? I just checked using my old Roch zip code, 14612, and it shows YES, MSG, and SNY as available Regional Sports Networks....nothing on it being available only on the most expensive package.

I saw that yesterday and the first thing that came to mind is that half of the billboards in LV are now available...

Yikes, first saw the subject line and I thought that Valby had died...whew! First saw him at the Mason Jar on Jefferson Road in Rochester in '76...during the 80s and early 90s, he always seemed to be at the Penny Arcade in Rochester the day after Christmas, so I used to see him then...he's been down here to DC a couple of times, but not in many years.
