  1. This is like comparing Caddyshack to Caddyshack II...
  2. Thanks Ken for the great job as always...I think I suggested this game last week. As for Denver, there's just too many to choose from...the 1991 AFC championship game comes to mind of course, but I'll always remember a game in 1981 where Nick Mike-Mayer won a game for the Bills in Orchard Park with a FG in the waning seconds to best the Broncos, 9-7. Box
  3. Classic. My three and five year olds asked me the same thing last week! I wish I had your well-thought out answer at the ready, but alas, I was left to just blame it on sloppy clamation...
  4. I actually like Bob, grew up reading him. However, he owes the entire last 10 years to Zippy Chippy...
  5. Since our only win in 1968 was against the Super Bowl bound Jets, perhaps a review of that game would be in order... Box
  6. The turning point was Lynch's dance in the endzone after his TD put the Bills up 16-7 in Miami, in the 3rd qtr. The VERY NEXT PLAY the Fish gain a gazzillion yards on a pass to Ginn Jr. (I think) and the Fish go on to beat the Bills by nine points. It was that stupid end zone dance that started the whole slide....
  7. And when Rudolph leaves Hermie and Corny at the guest quarters on the Island of Misfit Toys...he fails to shut the door. The Dentist and Yukon shoulda froze to death; leaving King MoonRazor to explain the situation to the authorities.
  8. Completely plausible. But why were there only six reindeer...the Bible says there were eight. And on the Christmas Eve where Rudolph first leads the team, his father, Donner, is left behind, but expresses a deep sense of pride at seeing his son lead Santa's team. What up with 'dat?!?!? The script has more holes than Dick's offensive gameplan...
  9. What the hell was wrong with the misfit doll?
  10. Is it Herbie or Hermie?
  11. I'm not saying it's right, because it isn't...but this is nothing new. Remember in the NFL Films piece, "A Town, A Team, A Dream," Maguire spoke of fans at the Rockpile who use to throw beer cans, many of them unopened, at the players as they left the field... And poor Booth Lusteg....he got beat up by Bills fans for missing a game winning field goal. His response: "I deserved it."
  12. Very true...it's all politics. All it takes is to get on the bad side of Peter King (see: Monk, Art) and you're toast. Simply put, the Pro Football HOF is just way too political. And, as another poster put it, it's all about the rings (see: Swan, Lynn; Stallworth, John). Sure, Bruce will get in without the rings, but I'm afraid Tasker and Reed will be left on the vine for several more years to come. Not that it's perfect by any means, but the baseball voting process is a tad more "democratic." It's a secret ballot and done via mail, so there's no closed door politicking going on...Canton should look at the Cooperstown model a bit more closely.
  13. When Wegmans opened their first store down here in Virginia several years ago, WNY ex-pats were tailgating in the parking lot at 6:00 AM... Give WNYers an excuse to tailgate...and they won't disappoint.
  14. Wow! Reminds me of the time I found a nice cooler...some poor sap left it out while he was inside the stadium watching the Bills. It was a couple of years ago now...never saw a post about a lost cooler here on TBD, so I kept it.
  15. Saw on another board that this is the first time Fox in Syracuse has had to deal with a Bills-Giants conflict since 2002...and they went with the Giants then as they're doing this coming Sunday.
  16. Well, last year we agonized over Denver and Dallas...this year, it's Cleveland. So, if we've cut the games that cost the Bills a playoff spot in half, isn't that "progress?"
  17. Saw this in Matthews' column today: So, basically it's a coin flip right now...
  18. Nice leadoff, Lori. About Trent: "He's going through a Steve Blass period." Classic
  19. Looking over some of those old "pro!" programs is a great ride down memory...I've got them going back to the first game at Rich. Sad that they don't develop a classic program like they used to.
  20. Wasn't there, remember watching the game on TV, and have the DVD somewhere in the house... After Smerlas blocked the potential winning FG, Kelly threw a bomb to Reed, that would have won the game, and the ball went right past his fingertips. I remember Bob Trumpy, who did the color with Don Criqui announcing, yelling "REED!!!" I thought I was going to crap my pants...on second thought I probably did. Seems more than 20 years ago...seems like a lifetime ago.
  21. News like this kind of puts Monday night's debacle in perspective...
  22. Yeah, I saw Lynch get in Quinn's face when he was run out of bounds at the Bills sideline... I don't believe the players are quiting on Dick...read Sully's column today. I don't often agree with him, but he's been spot on the last couple of days.
  23. You can pick apart last night's game all week, but what it came down to was the final drive and the run calls that led to the FG attempt. It was a total team collapse...coaching, play calling, execution...the players on the field, everyone on the Bills' sideline and up in the booth, crapped the bed.
  24. This seems like what all the Tuesday Morning QBs are saying...I don't think it's concussion-related, as Jaws talked about last night. And I don't think it's all the loss of Josh Reed. And did I hear during the broadcast, that the Bills have not attempted a play-action pass ALL season?!?!?
