  1. This sequence, and the one that gave the Jags the FG right before halftime, determined the game. Passing the ball from your own 10 with less than a minute to go, only gave the Jags free timeouts which they use to kick the FG. That sequence was on Dennison alone.
  2. AJ McCarron would be an interesting pickup. Not sure our boy Nate is NFL potential. Had the "deer in the headlights" look when called upon yesterday and promptly ended the Bills season with an INT. That being the case, is Tyrod kept as a backup?
  3. That's sounds about right. Could the Bills do it? Maybe, but that's a pretty big price tag. What's sad is that the Bills, or anyone else, could have nabbed him just a few years ago for a fourth round pick. He was drafted by the Skins the same year as RG3 and Cousins was viewed as a career backup.
  4. From the article: There’s also a signed Doug Flutie jersey—and the fan wearing it selected it for the precise reason that Flutie was the quarterback for that last playoff game. “I’m literally partying like it’s 1999,” says John Griveas.
  5. I remember some of the bars in Rochester were showing the replay via VHS to big crowds. Great time to be a Bills fan in WNY...it's on the way back!
  6. njsue was just starting her homework... Heitz still had his cooler...
  7. I fly my Bills flag every game day here in Northern Virginia. Every once in awhile, I meet a person from the neighborhood who says, "Oh, you're the one with the Bills flag."
  8. Great player, granted, but Billy Shaw did not play in the NFL and he, as you know, is in the HOF. Ron Mix played primarily in the AFL and Lance Alworth would have made the HOF even if he didn't play for the Cowboys.
  9. We could still lose against NE, beat Miami and be in at 9-7, IF Tenny loses to Jax. I believe we beat Tenny on the 9-7 tiebreaker. Can't have SD win anymore though...something like that.
  10. After the Bills beat the Rams in OT in December, 1980, the Talking Proud song played on a continuous loop and Freddy Smerlas led some of the team back on the field where they danced with the cheerleaders. That's what I think of when I hear the Talking Proud jingle.
  11. Jets @ Saints is a more intriguing match-up than Bills-Fish??? And Beth Mowins?
  12. Whenever I hear that craptastic song by Mariah Carey, I want to stick knitting needles in my ears...
  13. He belongs on the Wall, along with Kyle Williams from the Drought Era.
  14. Those forecasters never know what they're talking about...it will be sunny and 35 degrees.
  15. Yankees better cut Jeter a playoff share...
  16. There use to be a guy on this board named Silver "N Red who was a huge Halos fan. Don't recall seeing him here in years, however.
  17. I go through about 40 pounds of seed every 5 weeks...it slows down this time of year though. Love watching the woodpecker on the feeder. A truly majestic creature...he's worth the price of the seed.
  18. Giving players, coaches, front office personnel a ring is, of course, the right thing to do. Giving former players, longtime/screwed fans and others a ring cheapens it. I was already sick of the Cubs and their fans halfway through the 2016 WS...didn't have a dog in the hunt but started rooting for the Tribe when the Series moved to Chicago.
  19. Time for my winter beers: New Belgium Accumulation and Sierra Nevada Celebration. Also liking that winter beer Southern Tier puts out and the Great Lakes Christmas Ale (but it's a bit pricey at $12/six pack).
  20. Baltimore Orioles (had a partial season plan for many seasons) and the Washington Nationals (live about 25 minutes from stadium). In my youth, was part of the Rochester Red Wings Knot Hole Gang, which used to get you about 30 games for $1.00.
  21. Oh, but I thought we all loved these end zone celebrations?
  22. I watch the Bills of course, in the 1:00 window mostly, and if they win, I'll turn over to RedZone for awhile. If they lose, the TV goes off for the rest of the day. I watch the Thursday and Sunday night games to help me fall asleep...maybe see 15 minutes of each, max. Especially hate how SNF has become "Football Night in America" with all the bells/whistles etc to rival a Super Bowl game in the 1990s. Al Michaels is a great announcer, but I've grown tired of him. Wouldn't mind seeing Tirico in the prime spot. Have not watched more than 15 minutes of MNF this year, total. I'm a Sunday Ticket subscriber, so if they've lost me, for a large portion of the TV schedule, I can't imagine the "casual" fan watching much of the NFL.
  23. I wonder how Sam Huff, Chuck Bednarik or Ray Nitschke would react to these "celebrations." Count me among the old bastards who think they're a bit over the top. If I want this type of "fun," I'll watch European soccer on Saturday morning. That Chiefs celebration yesterday while they were STILL BEHIND IN THE GAME was a joke. Be like HOFer Thurman Thomas: "Act like you've been there before."
  24. Voted for the McKelvin game but the worst loss of all time to the Pats was the "just give it to 'em" game in 1998. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199811290nwe.htm
