  1. There use to be a guy on this board named Silver "N Red who was a huge Halos fan. Don't recall seeing him here in years, however.
  2. I go through about 40 pounds of seed every 5 weeks...it slows down this time of year though. Love watching the woodpecker on the feeder. A truly majestic creature...he's worth the price of the seed.
  3. Giving players, coaches, front office personnel a ring is, of course, the right thing to do. Giving former players, longtime/screwed fans and others a ring cheapens it. I was already sick of the Cubs and their fans halfway through the 2016 WS...didn't have a dog in the hunt but started rooting for the Tribe when the Series moved to Chicago.
  4. Time for my winter beers: New Belgium Accumulation and Sierra Nevada Celebration. Also liking that winter beer Southern Tier puts out and the Great Lakes Christmas Ale (but it's a bit pricey at $12/six pack).
  5. Baltimore Orioles (had a partial season plan for many seasons) and the Washington Nationals (live about 25 minutes from stadium). In my youth, was part of the Rochester Red Wings Knot Hole Gang, which used to get you about 30 games for $1.00.
  6. Oh, but I thought we all loved these end zone celebrations?
  7. I watch the Bills of course, in the 1:00 window mostly, and if they win, I'll turn over to RedZone for awhile. If they lose, the TV goes off for the rest of the day. I watch the Thursday and Sunday night games to help me fall asleep...maybe see 15 minutes of each, max. Especially hate how SNF has become "Football Night in America" with all the bells/whistles etc to rival a Super Bowl game in the 1990s. Al Michaels is a great announcer, but I've grown tired of him. Wouldn't mind seeing Tirico in the prime spot. Have not watched more than 15 minutes of MNF this year, total. I'm a Sunday Ticket subscriber, so if they've lost me, for a large portion of the TV schedule, I can't imagine the "casual" fan watching much of the NFL.
  8. I wonder how Sam Huff, Chuck Bednarik or Ray Nitschke would react to these "celebrations." Count me among the old bastards who think they're a bit over the top. If I want this type of "fun," I'll watch European soccer on Saturday morning. That Chiefs celebration yesterday while they were STILL BEHIND IN THE GAME was a joke. Be like HOFer Thurman Thomas: "Act like you've been there before."
  9. Voted for the McKelvin game but the worst loss of all time to the Pats was the "just give it to 'em" game in 1998. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199811290nwe.htm
  10. Romo and "Hello Friends" are doing the Bills-Pats game this week, I believe.
  11. is it that bad this year that SU cannot even get a single vote in either poll? http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings
  12. Thank you, but another Veterans Day here at the salt mine. Raise your hand if you're a veteran and at work today.
  13. I was at that Pitt game also and the only thing that happened to us was one Steeler fan tried to spit on us on the way in...fortunately, the bastard missed. Before the game, we were on WHAM, who was broadcasting from a bar across the street from the stadium. After the game, we were just walking to our car and came across the Kelly clan and Papa Joe Kelly invited us over to partake in food and beverages. What a super guy he was! Saw Jim briefly as he was being heckled by Steeler fans walking in the parking lot to the RV. Jim pretty much ignored them and spent his time in the RV with his family.
  14. I believe you're thinking of the Meadowlands during the Bills-Jets MNF game in 1988.
  15. It's easy, Buffalo and New Orleans are relatively small markets with little national following, whereas both the Pack and Bears have a national following despite their records.
  16. Best Bills road trip: Green Bay. Great atmosphere and even better fans. Worst Bills road trip: Cleveland. Went to the Thursday night game there a couple of years ago and the place was full of a-holes.
  17. Ah, yes, the Roland Hooks game in 1981...and the catch before the Hail Mary was more spectacular than the TD. I remember looking down a tunnel in the upper deck and seeing guys piling out of the bathroom to see what the hell happened...many with their pants still down around their knees!
  18. Earlier in the season, Philly fans turned the 27k seat StubHub Center in LA into a home game and stomped the Chargers. I expect nothing less from West Coast Bills fans, who should fill 26k of the 27k seats. If it becomes Orchard Park West, the Bills should have little trouble from a Charger team that could be 3-6 by the time we play them.
  19. Umm...that game was in New England. Now, that was a great moment too. Freddy Smerlas leading some players back out onto the field and doing a victory dance, while we fans stayed and savored the victory.
  20. It's been awhile...the year we could have gone to the playoffs by beating Pitt in the finale, I think the Bills won in Seattle @SF in 1992 @ LA Raiders in 1991 I can't remember any others
