  1. I knew they would open this up to streaming eventually...not in my market yet, though. https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/directv-now-adds-nfl-sunday-ticket-in-select-markets/
  2. Did the tour last time Bills were in town in 2010. It's well worth it. Our guide was the former sports photographer for the Green Bay paper who covered the team in the Lombardi years. At the end of the tour, I asked him for a Lombardi story. He said the first day on the job, he shows up at Packers practice and Lombardi yells from across the field, "Who the F%$&* is this guy?!?!?" Said it scared the begeezis out of him. We all got a good laugh. Be careful about going to Green Bay. It will almost make you a Packer fan, it's that great an atmosphere.
  3. This seems to be a recurring issue...seems the reps all have different marching orders on giving promotions and discounts.
  4. Jeeziz, it was just a decent hour of television...and you get to see Paul's boyhood loo. How's that?
  5. Here's the whole program; worth watching https://www.cbs.com/shows/late-late-show/video/Ug3KP0we6TbNX1qCj1qFah8IOaZJEe_6/carpool-karaoke-when-corden-met-mccartney-live-from-liverpool/
  6. Yeah, it's really all over the place. DTV guy was here to do the Genie upgrade from the initial version to Genie II this morning. What I thought would be a simple swap-out took almost three hours. He had some problems getting the 4K channels (only 4) but he stuck around and answered many of my questions on the upgrade, made sure I could connect the Genie II to wifi before he left. I'm sorta happy with my one-year contract deal ($60/month off; free upgrade), but I'm waiting a couple of weeks to call back for a ST promotion. The poster above who got a $100 price is the best I've seen this season...seems like it's a complete crap shoot depending on the service rep you get on the phone. Still think it's the AT&T mobile subscribers who are getting the best deals and hold the most leverage.
  7. I stopped when "The Outlaw Josey Wales" was listed at 28. Blasphemy. It's the best of all time.
  8. I've said this many times, that the reason ST distribution is "limited" by only going through DTV is because of the beer barons. We all know how much beer is in bed with the NFL, well, the bars, beer's big clients, have hounded the beer barons to lobby the NFL AGAINST easy distribution of ST because the bars' Sunday profits will suffer significantly. The beer barons have made this known to the NFL and ST, hence, has "limited" distribution on DTV. The big issue now is streaming and DTV has repeatedly said they will not stream ST; they fear their traditional satellite product will quickly dry up...but the day is coming where streaming will be the norm.
  9. "Cases won in 30 minutes or less or your pizza is free. Here's your pizza Mrs. Simpson." "But Mr. Hutz, you won the case." "That's ok, the box is empty..."
  10. That is a HUGE advantage when negotiating. I'm a Verizon guy, so I can't pull that lever.
  11. Reminds me of the days when Bryan Cox was Public Enema Number One in WNY. Dang, he made those Fish slappings even more special.
  12. I thought it was very well done...I could have watched an hour more of this stuff.
  13. I went to the DTV chat yesterday just sniffing around for a ST promotion. The best I got was $99 off ST Max, I said no thanks and when I went to my account, the clown had signed me up for it!!! So I had to then call, go through the stupid prompts, and got a less than helpful rep who told me yup, that's what happened and she got snippy when I told her to take ST off the account. I re-upped for DTV for another year with a $60/month discount, but this year is the final time...as others have said, they're now part of a huge conglomerate and customer service is in the proverbial $chitter. I just hope that someday soon, next season or the one after, that the NFL will look to streaming these games over a reputable source.
  14. Shirley, you can't be serious???? With all the mini camps, OTAs both voluntary and mandatory, training camp, and four preseason games, you're saying that's not enough? Granted, taking much of the training camp hitting out with the last CBA may have adversely affected the game, but good god man, the six preseason games were like the Bataan Death March, for both players and fans...even four is too many.
  15. This is why I don't follow Sal anymore...his constant bitching about the Yankees and Cubs is beyond annoying and approaches abhorrent territory.
  16. I'm old enough to remember when there were SIX preseason games and a 14 game regular season. Seems wacky today. I'm all for ZERO PS games, but in no way would I favor an 18 game regular season; that's just too much on the players.
  17. Great story, thanks for sharing. Best line: "He suspected that mafia money came in on the Patriots and that helped lead to the insane finish." Seems like a logical explanation to me.
  18. Sure they do, they're points scored, just as they count for kickers converting an XP.
  19. Didn't need a clue here... Being in our division, I never liked them, but the despise-o-meter reached new numbers when they went to the flying Elvis on their helmet...they $chit-canned one of the best logos in the NFL.
  20. I think there's two more years on the SJF contract? After the contract runs out, the Bills will be holding camp at OBD. With the new facilities coming and all, and with most teams now using their own practice fields, I believe McBeane, or whoever's in charge at the time, will look to get the Bills having camp locally. As a Rochester native, I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Bills are not too long for SJF.
  21. Started watching the John Adams mini-series again on Amazon. Damn, that's a mighty fine film.
  22. Bruce- The River Fleetwood Mac- Rumours Guess Who - Live at the Paramount Cars - The Cars Genesis - Wind & Wuthering
  23. Not sure which one you've tried, but Dick's at Marketplace always had a decent selection as I recall.
